  1. Lucky the guy in the Skyline got away without his car being damaged (or himself being hurt) as well. What a nutjob
  2. Great work Eric. Nice to see the C10 in there too.
  3. Yeah it was a Porsche Gayman actually. Fortunately it was more like a love-tap to the GTR by the time the impact reached my car. I have no idea what he was doing as he hit the VT commodore with a fair bit of force. 6 o clock Thursday arvo, peak hour, stop start traffic. At least I'd left decent space to the car in front of me so the buck stopped with me so to speak. Second time I had taken the car out in about 3 weeks.
  4. Once went through there at night and came across a couple of *deer* standing in the middle of the road. Was foggy too, crazy stuff. RNP definitely requires keeping eyes peeled and wits about, even more than usual.
  5. Awesome photo! BTW It was great to meet you and Bianca and see the red beast again.
  6. So true. It was kind of a surreal parallel with the movie we were about to watch, when reaching Mt Tomah (about when some of those photos above were taken). Def one of those times it felt great to be in a skyline, totally planted, four wheel drive, and plenty of feedback through the wheel = confidence (but not overconfidence...).
  7. I've been through there a few times recently in the 33R and IIRC there *is* one section Malcolm at a river crossing (causeway) where the concrete does dip a little, and if you take it at, say 40km/h, your front splitter may kiss the tarmac (which I've done unfortunately ) so when you round the bend and see the causeway over the river, I'd drop it to about 20km/h or less. Someone who does the road more frequently should be able to confirm / refute

  9. Hey mate, shame you couldn't make it. ^^^ this is in progress Also great to meet you mate. Glad you had a good time and safe trip back. See you at the next one
  10. Really needed someone more Benm's size or Blake's size to be more successful at stopping the handful that left I think.
  11. hehe there were a few laughs in the cinema which was good to see.
  12. One word summed the day up - Awesome Thanks to the fellow organisers (particularly Terry, and Eric who did all the pro camera work) and especially to everyone who turned up on the day with their polished and waxed beasts - where do you begin? Everything from a KPGC10 to not one but 3 R35s, a strong representation of built R32s such as Brian's that took the top gong... a mint, original Aus-delivered R32 owned (previously) by none other than Skaifey himself, and a Z-tune no less. But it was great to see all sorts of skylines there, not just the special models. Other stand outs for me were the white 33R with black time-attack style rims, neat and tidy silver 33R following me, and the silver R32 four door. The drive up was also fantastic and kudos to what must have been close to 200 attendees for keeping everything above board... with the exception of that one attention-seeking hero leaving the carpark. The Edge also went above and beyond (minor projectionist hiccup notwithstanding) to cater for us and I'm glad everyone seemed to have a great time. Traffic also didn't seem too bad at all? Slept well last night all the same! Kat, we'll be in touch re: your car Thanks to all interstaters who made the massive trek out in the wet.
  13. Also as someone who grew up in the mountains I know Sunday arvos can be a pain going East, + Bathurst weekend + roadworks. Won't be so bad with some company in the car and some music. But you can also consider hanging around Katoomba until after about 8-9pm; there are tons of nice places to eat around Katoomba / Leura like the Carrington (Katoomba St nr station), Canton Palace (246 Katoomba St), and so on. Wall St Money Never Sleeps is also playing at the Edge at 5.40pm / The Other Guys at 5.30pm on the day, together with a bunch of other movies (with sessions on at 7pm, 8pm, 9pm) so that's another option for delaying your trip home if that's something you can afford to do. Session times at http://www.edgecinema.com.au/Movies/tabid/54/Default.aspx Cheers, Matt
  14. Also picked up the DT today. Great piece. Love your car mate. Shame you can't fully enjoy her though as you want to keep the kms down and preserve her condition. Have to do a Ferris Bueler Not that I'd endorse that kind of thing.
  15. Just to reiterate regarding food / lunch; There will be a range of pies, light snacks and soft drinks available through the Edge Cinema. Keeping in mind the movie is to start at 1:30pm sharp, there are also tons of cafes / takeaway shops etc just over the highway in Katoomba. This is a pretty relaxed 10-minute walk (each way) *up* the exit driveway of the Edge (Civic Pl), head right when you hit the highway to the next set of lights and take the railway overpass into Katoomba. However, if you're getting your car photographed through Eric (Pezhead) or want to spend more time hanging around the cinema to check out the cars before the movie starts it might be wiser to bring a packed lunch due to time limitations (particularly for the later groups).
  16. Here you go. Last frame is after he finally drops it back to 1st. Agreed it was probably heat of the moment and a bit of frustration, but still a rookie error hey.
  17. It's going to be an awesome event; driving, the flicks, and a photoshoot too! Nice one Thomas! Look forward to meeting you and your car there mate. Don't think you'll have any trouble finding someone to help out either
  18. Nice one Matt. Turned out to be quite a good spot hey
  19. Yeah, it was great in the last handful of laps as you could see Vettel turning up the wick; RB had more fight in reserve, but it seems as though the brakes were always a concern for them? (at least up until those last few laps when they could afford to go nuts). (Webber's brake failure last season; continual feedback between Vettel and engineer re: brake condition)
  20. Agreed, amazing pic of Webber's wheel, thanks for posting. Also thought Kub's drive at the end was amazing, very impressive, even if his tyres were fresh and those of the others he passed were not. His engineer's radio cracked me up after the first pass; "oh and these guys coming up, their tyres are also 50 laps old" Absolutely loved Vettel trying to take off from the pits in 2nd gear! was lucky to get away with that one.
  21. haha Cheers mate. The building actually looks even worse (cluttered) now that it's complete and the tenants have moved in.
