  1. man... i wish I had some stimulus right now. God I could go for some Stimulus.
  2. Sorry guys, was out in a mate's ute and saw 7 or 8 cop cars in the space of 10 minutes, 3 people pulled over. Not tonight methinks, can't afford any more fines, defects, loss of licences or anything else they can dish out. i'm layin low this weekend.
  3. I don't think so mate. People keep in mind you are only out there for 15 minutes hard driving at a time, that's it, it's not a 24 hour endurance race. Not to mention that while you're out there, if someone spins out they wave the yellow flags, and you gotta go slow anyway, and someone is BOUND to spin out every round. So your car actually does not actually go through that much punishment. If you went flat out in the hills from bottom to top it's the same sort of thing. The only noticeable thing on my car was the brake fade. Brakes were not useless or anything, but effectiveness vastly diminished, and that was after 3 rounds, the last of which I used the brakes the most. Just to put your minds at ease, when that happened and I couldn't slow down enough for a turn, I just drove straight, off the track, over some soft and squishy sand. No damage, no harm. You will be able to hear/feel if something doesn't feel right and you can come off he track and have a look see.
  4. good point dude, didnt think of that. i wonder what that steering wheel would taste like....
  5. Do it dude. my advice is to get an open face helmet, after buying a closed one it gets pretty hot in that helmet, believe me. Get an open face one, doesn't look as cool but you will be much more comfortable. A little closer to the date I can organize a place to meet and maybe food/drinks... you will get r@ped if you buy from there, I paid $5 for a can of V!
  6. So who's doing the Villis tonight?
  7. Getting information was tough before I went last time so I will post everything I know for yaz... ALL THE DETAILS: COST - LICENSE: You can get out there without having a CAMS license by purchasing a 1-day license for $25. The total cost (including the License) is $125 if you do not have a CAMS license. If you already have a CAMS license, you need to bring that along and in that case you'll only pay $100. WHAT YOU NEED TO WEAR: You need to have an ADR approved helmet, but you don't need to spend big bucks, you can borrow one from a mate or do what I did and check out this ebay shop and purchase one for around the $50 mark. http://stores.ebay.com.au/teamozimports You will also need to wear long sleeve shirt and full length pants that are made of cotton or wool (jeans and a long sleeve shirt and you're set) HOW THE DAY WILL ROLL: Day starts at 8:50am and goes until around 5pm - you can leave any time you want. Sign in and pay at the beginning of the day, then Clem (manager dude) will explain the rules on the track, no overtaking on the turns, what the flags mean, etc.. You will get a bracelet which you must keep on to let staff know you have paid. You will get 6 x 15 minute squirts with about an hour between each one, giving your engine, brakes, etc.. time to cool off. While you are off the track other types of vehicles will be allowed on, also in 15 minute blocks, racing carts, club cars, bla bla bla. You will see a whole bunch of different cars, check them out, talk to the owners, and the 1 hour blocks between runs really flies. It's like an all day car show. You will also get a lot of driving.modifying tips from people there. If anyone has any more questions I might not know the answer but I have Mallala's details and spoke to Clem quite a bit last time so I might be able to get the answers for you. I'd really love to see the track full of skylines and stags, even if your car is not where you want it to be, the practice is not timed, so you can go as hard or as easy as you want. Even with taking it easy you can get up to 160-180kph on the straights, can't really do that anywhere else safely and without fear of getting arrested and bashed by the 5-0. It's great fun, you will meet cool people (like me) and you will see cool cars all day. well worth the dosh. If you want to suss it out, there are quite a lot of people who come just to watch and hang out, so if you are unsure then come out, suss it out, and see for yourself.
  8. Who's Ed???? My brother dabbles in photograpgy and has a camera the size of a rocket launcher. I will talk to him about coming out to snap some photos of us while actually on the track, should be sweeeeett. i also though about a BBQ but heavy meals punctuated by hard driving on the track might add up to vomit inside your helmet.... Has anyone done this before? Maybe a pre-packed subway is the go instead...
  9. ghetto.... dude i thought you were an accountant?? or are you an accountant for struggling up and coming rappers?
  10. 6er I know it must have torn you up to say that to me. I know you hide your compassionate affection with swear words to simulate a more macho relationship, but I know you care. Thanks buddy

  19. ^Yeah it looks pretty hot doesn't it BTW my $50 ebay helmet was friggin awesome, thank you "made in China" Just found a UK website selling braided line kits for 40 pounds which is under 100 bucks, don't know if they have them for skylines but will see Next practice day is Saturday 16th May.
  20. Can't forget you scandy man, your name was eduardo, right? and krishy you were Christianos? the guys with 2 sausages right? Yeah we will buzz ya on Monday and see what we can do for ya
  21. did you just cal me a bastard my graphics were done by drawmycar.com, there is another thread somewhere about them including cost. You can get any color/style you want mate, will still look different. Either way it's not you are I that started it, like everything else it came from Japan. There were no lap times recorded on the day. My stock brakes were fine until the end of the 15 minutes when I was hard on them, after that I tried to use them less (plus was getting more confident around the track). Was given some good advice by RBWARE about changing pads and brake lines instead of rotors, heard the same form a couple of different drivers actually, was recommended green stuff pads and project mu pads. There was a guy there in a silver focus turbo who had upgraded to DBA gold slotted rotors and said he preferred the stock brakes so I guess rotors aren't everything. Next time all I will do different is better tires, better pads and new brake fluid the week before the day, if I have the $$$ I will also take RBWARE's advice and get braided brake lines. Don't wait till your car is perfect (because it will never be, there will always be something else you want to do) just get out there. Was awesome.
  22. Hey all, I was out there today (someone had to represent). Was pleasantly surprised to find a few of our brethren there. RBWARE was there and so was BANNED, Plus another R32 GTR (silver one, forgot the dude's name). There was also one other 33 on the track besides me, Charcoal one with black wheels. Was good fun, Stock brakes did alright, after 15 mins of hard use they gave up though but there were one hour intervals between runs so they had plenty of time to cool off between runs. They were fine again at the beginning of the next round. I was sorely dissapoitned in my cheap ass tires. Pirelli's or Toyo's next time. There was a good mixture of cars, some old school (Datsun 1600 running an FJ turbo, Old escort, old corolla, datsun 240z) some newer (our skylines, evo 7, evo 9) some brand spankers (350z, focus turbo, civic type r, evo 10). There was one R34 GTR track car but that didn't go on at the same time. My exhaust looked brand new after that's how clean it was, apparently my car was shooting flames occasionally. Some photos: My exhaust is sooooooo clean!! About to get on the track: Cooling off.... Sadly this thing didn't get out there These did: So did this: If you haven't been before I HIGHLY recommend it, brilliant fun and you don't have to worry about breaking anything, you don't have to go all out, my third run I took it easier but still had a good time. The safety rules make it hard to have an accident and even if you come off the track, you're only in the sand, no damage done. I'd liek to see more of us there next time. Total cost was $125 for the track and a 1 day CAMS license, plus $50 bucks for a full tank of BP ultimate, I had a quarter of a tank left at the end of the day and I only did 4 out of the 6 rounds. Good clean fun!
  23. dstroy is right, Shannons do not cover any timed event, they only cover things like defensive driving courses, not timed or drift.
  24. Hey was nice to meet you guys and put some faces to the names (which I promptly forgot Track day tomorrow, I'm excitement!
