Cheers mate. I will lose the headlight covers when I get some new ones, I am getting custom eyelids made in the near future. I love the rims, they are Advanti Vienna 18's, they're a bit unusual. I'm usually into chrome but not on a silver car. I should have got 19's though, they would have filled the guards a bit more and you can get a 2 inch dish on 19's but not 18's. One day I will sell these and actually get the 19's...

Taken today. A rare sight that my wheels are not black from brake dust. Just had the front lowered by some "hoons" at the local tyre place, they got a little excited and lowered the front waaaaaaaaaay too much. Now it's useful for scraping bits of asphalt off the roads, sucks ball$ coz i just had the front re-sprayed. Will get the front raised a little... The bum collecting cans out of the trash in the background came with the car, he is a genuine nismo item.

Saw plenty plenty boys in blu, $hat my pants, don't forget my car stands out like anything with the graphics, never got a second look.... I think maybe they are saying that to show they are responding? OR some cops are doing it and some think it's BS? Here's the deal with Shannons: They DO insure under 25's. All our cars are classed as high performance (damn straight) - so they gotta be in a fully enclosed, locked up garage. Anything else is a no go. Don't lie about this, firstly it's illegal to, second if you have a claim they will investigate where you have been keeping it. If you don't drive the car as often, you can pay less premium if you tell them. They have different usage categories, so your car can be a daily drive, or you can drive it a couple of times a week, or a couple of times a month. If you have if off the road for a chunk of time you can let them know that and they change your insurance to something called "laid up cover". This means that it's fully comprehensively insured as long as it's not being driven under it's own power. This laid up thing also covers accidental damage you do to the car yourself!! i.e. car is off the road for some engine work, you drop the engine through the sunroof, you're totally covered. Laid up premiums are also very very low. If you're under 25 your excess will be higher, but nowhere near $2500 like with some of the others. You also get full choice of repairer (only the best) and lifetime guarantee on repairs, so if your panel beater does a slightly less tahn perfect job, Shannons will pay for it to be fixed again. One replacement window or windscreen per year with NO EXCESS. Pay by the month and it doesn't cost you extra. I've got both cars and the contents insured with Shannons as well. Had 2 claims this year, no paperwork, over the phone, great service.

Well written mate, and I think you're absolutely right. The newspapers are no longer reporting the news from an unbiased standpoint, they are sensationalizing the story with a specific end in mind, to see import drivers targeted. ACA and newspapers WANT the laws to change to give police more power to confiscate, impound, and the like. No one who sees these stories will say "human error" they will say "young kids in high performance cars is a bad idea". Guaranteed if the drag was between a VL turbo and a V8 falcon they wouldn't make such a big deal about the types of cars in the accident. I don't know if they ahve a vested interest in feeding the phobia that the general public have about our kinds of cars....

THE STORY: I had a commodore which was a guzzler, fuel went to $1.70, was spending $120 in fuel just to get to and from work! Picked this up in a car yard for $900, 750cc 4cyl, carby, $35 for around 600kms. Kept doing stuff to it to make it funnier, stickers, exhaust (4 inch cannon). Would see people laugh at it and I'd laugh with em. Sold it to a construction worker with a V8 ute for $1K, he eventually put rims on it..

Agreed. People (young and old) have been into cars forever. 50 years ago they were called rev-heads, motor heads, petrol heads....now hoons, only the name has changed.
