Anyone Purchased Pagid Pads Os
SlipR35 replied to Roy's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I've purchased Pagid RS29's from the guys at Stillen in the US. Contact Kyle at Stillen, he's great to deal with. Seb -
Not quite. I need something that will tow 3,500 kgs (Navara is 3,000kgs). I think the Amorak is even less than the Navara.
-
I've been using a Nissan Navara STX for the last couple of years, fantastic tow car. Had all the suspension upgraded to Pedders heavy duty suspension front and rear with airbags on the rear suspension. Went to town on the options and also fitted up some electric R35 GTR seats to it. Time has come to move it on..... Replacing it with something a little more German... Link to details re Navara for sale Looking at all reasonable offers. Not sure if I am allowed to link to the for sale section, if it offends anyone mods can take it down. Seb.

It's mainly used for circuit work here in SA in the local time attack series. Also used for fun in some hill climbs. Good way to destress on the weekend.

Also updating the design on the GTR in the next couple of weeks, signed off design below:

We'll be tuning and running it on E85 so the end figures should be interesting and at least comparable to what the guys are seeing in the US. I agree 1,000 AWHP should be easier with the Alpha 12 kit and less stressful on the engine. Thanks Snowy, if I get over to Sandown or PI once it's fiished you should jump in for a couple of laps. Ash, hoping to have it all ready before Nationals, aiming for mid October at this stage.

About time we got some AMS Alpha 12 action Down Under. I was originally looking at the Alpha 10 kit but in the end the lure of 1,300 odd horsepower kept calling. I pulled the trigger on an Alpha 12 kit that will be built by the guys at AMS and shipped down under. A big thanks to Jeremy at Speed for Sale for sorting this all out and sourcing everything for me and to Eric at AMS and also Handbrake for answering my questions. The car already has substantial mods to strengthen the trans, gearbox etc so I'm looking forward to getting this all fitted up and running: The full spec list including the upcoming AMS gear is listed below: AMS 4.0 liter crate motor with: AMS sleeved forged shortblock AMS Spec JE Pistons AMS Extreme duty Rods (Manlet manufactured) AMS CNC machined cylinder heads AMS alpha spec Kelford cams Ferrea Competition Plus +1mm intake valves Ferrea Competition Plus +1mm exhaust valves Ferrea dual valve springs and titanium retainers AMS Spec head studs AMS Engine block strengthening AMS Alpha 12 turbos AMS 90mm catless downpipes AMS Intercooler AMS intercooler piping AMS Fuel Rails Injector Dynamic 2000cc injectors Gotboost 3" intake pipes The trans and cooling mods are already in place with all of the Willall gear. Sorry mate, that's a couple of parts I don't have.
-
What parts are you chasing Snowy?
-
Yep, hardly used... just the occasional drive on a Sunday. I've got a shed full of "hardly used" R35 parts, apart from a chassis I could pretty much build one. I'm keeping the original engine for spares so no shoehorning this time... However if you would like a nice trailer to put the V35 on I can help you out there as I can't get the car on my original trailer so hence the Nevco.

With reports of bent rods occurring in GTR's with around 700+ AWHP it's time to upgrade the engine internals and step it up a level to get some more reliability at higher horsepower. A new AMS Alpha 10 VR38 race engine is on the way. The AMS kits have been proven to give reliable low 9 sec passes with around 1,000+ AWHP: AMS Alpha 10 info link The AMS Alpha 10 engine kit will include some optional gear such as block strengthening and the AMS spece CNC machined heads with upgraded cams, list below: AMS spec machined crank AMS Spec machined shortblock AMS Spec JE Pistons AMS Extreme duty Rods (Manlet manufactured) AMS CNC machined head cases AMS alpha spec kelford cams Ferrea Comeptition Plus +1mm intake valves Ferrea Competition Plus +1mm exhaust valves Ferrea dual valve springs and titanium retainers (including Ferrea seat locators, valve locks and valve guides) AMS Spec head studs AMS Engine block strengthening AMS 90mm catless downpipes AMS Intercooler AMS intercooler piping AMS Fuel Rails Injector Dynamic 2000cc injectors Forge Motorsport wastegate actuators Gotboost 3" intake pipes Custom MAFless speed density Cobb tune by Willall The trans and cooling mods capable of handling the increased power are already in place with all of the Willall gear. The current spec for the rest of the car is: Willall items: Turbo upgrade (WR35TT) these will be changed out for new turbos that will better suit the Alpha 10 engine. Front Mount Transmission Oil Cooler (WR35TC) Rear Diff Cooler (WR35DC) Front Diff Cooler (WR35DC-F) Water misting cooling system (WR35MS) High Volume Oil pan (WR35OP) Trans fluid (WR35TM) Diff Fluid (WR35DF) Motor Oil (WR35MO) GR6 Gearbox seals (WR35GS) GR6 Gear Stops (WR35GS) GR6 piston seal replacement (WR35PS) GR6 Transmission pressure unit (WR35TPU) Clutch retaining clips (WR35CCL) High performance Syncro baulk ring (WR25BR) GR6 14 plate composite clutch pack (WR35CPR) Rear LSD Duper lock kit (WR35DS) Camber Arms (WR35FCA / RCA) Performance Mid pipe (WR35MP) Centre exit straight through exhaust (WR35CE) GTR Brake Cooling system (WR35WS) Engine Management Tuning (WR35TU) Anti Surge Fuel System (WR35FS) Shift light (WR35SL) Trunk supports (WR35TSP) PPG 1st gear set HKS Super Sequential BOV Kit HKS A/F Knock AMP Sensor HKS super fire spark plugs AAM engine oil cooler with custom fabricated lines Switzer Cooling kit Aeromotion S2 rear wing Volk TE37 G2 wheels Yokohama Advan A005 20" slicks Penske / AP Racing 3 way adjustable coil overs AP Racing Carbon Ceramic Matrix brake kit Forged Performance Anti-Sway bar kit Stillen stainless steel brake lines Custom Endless Brake pads Top Racing carbon bonnet Top Racing carbon front and rear bumpers Top Racing carbon doors Velo Apex driver and passenger Carbon seats The new engine and parts should arrive in around 4- 5 weeks and will be fitted up and tuned by Willall. The Zele 4 light kit is the best way to go. It's an off the shelf kit and easy to hook up yourself. Did it on my R35 and it worked perfectly. Instructions here: Zele 4 light kit install instructions I purchased the kit from "Matty32" who is on the thread linked above. Direct link to his site: New Era Parts store Great service and the kit arrived within the week.

Some updated pics from last weekend: The car is back in the Willall Racing garage in preparation for the upcoming Time Attack Rd 3. So many upgrades.... so little time...
-
Great work mate.... That's nearly as fast up the hill as Martin...
-
Big thumbs up to the organisers for putting the whole weekend together. Listening to how much work goes on over the course car radio in the background really makes you appreciate the unseen organisation and complexity that it takes to run these events. Apart from that it was hard, hard work....really it was...

Was good to see you Dave. That was a fun stage with some tight hairpins and quite a bit of loose gravel all over the road for the first few k's. GTR went well all weekend and never missed a beat.
