  1. The systems you are talking about are old tech . The latest trackers use GPS to track the car and gsm is only to call you . GPS works anywhere on this earth , unless underground . If your car gets broken in or moved from where you last left it this is what the tracker will do . If it has gsm reception it will call you instantly and tell you what happen to your car ( like intuder detection ) will tell you if car is moving , what derection , speed and location , its that accurate you can tell which side of the road the car is . Then you have option to cut the engine and if you have the software you can see on your p.c. the actual road its traveling and the speed at one sec intervals . I know someone that got out of a speed ticket when he produced the log to prove he was not speeding !!! This system is much more accurate than the police radars . If there is no gsm reception when they brake in then it will call you as soon as it gets reception , in Sydney for instance that will be very soon . Now lets say they take the car underground you will loose track of it but it will tell you the last known location and as soon as it becomes visible again you track it . Now you tell me a better system and i will install it in my car now . I have other options ( i wont go in to them here for obvious reasons ) in my car and i can guarantee that if i gave my car to an expert for 8 hours they will not be able to start it . The reason i have the tracker is they may tow it or carjack me , if they car jack i'll give them the keys and as soon as they go i'll cut the engine on them with any phone . If they tow it away then i can see where they are most of the time , they cant stay underground can they ? If they park it in undergroung carpark i'll know the driveway they used to go under then i can find it . This system allows you to moniter the speed as well , say you lent your car to someone , then you set speed warning as soon as the car reaches that speed you get a phone call . In the years to came every car will have one fitted in it , as they become cheaper .
  2. Tracker = the best protection you can have .
  3. Yes but thats only a handfull of them , there is also a blackchrome finish but again i only ever seen 1 set , don't even know if they are a Nissan job or someone aftermarket .
  4. Thats the only colour they come standard , if you want silver you have to paint them .
  5. If you have a bit over $3 k Just Jap have 3 sets i think .
  6. I think you did the right thing , gtss should be a lot better that 2530's and still push the same hp out if you want to run high boost .
  7. Don't worry , as long as you have your import approval ( actualy your raw would have ) with your cars vin , the derego paper , invoice and bill of lading you are sweet . if you appoint a customs broker they will do all the customs clearing for you , if you dont have a broker you can do it yourself its very easy . As soon as the boat lands they drive it of it , customs then will want their money and tax and q/t should inspect the car the same day . More than likely they will send it for a steam clean , they may let you drive it there but if it has mud underneath they will tell youi to put it on a tilt tray or trailer . Once its done they will reinspect it maybe the next day , then she is yours . The car should go straight to your raw fof compliancing , thats the law . If you are planning to keep your xenons you may have to do your own conversion so you can keep the balasts and the globes . Most compliancers in Sydney use the xenon globes and they fit halogens in them ( then cant reconvert them ) and cut the balasts . I recently imported a r34 gtr , i did my own customs clearence so i know what i'm talking about . The only problem is if your car has been in an accident before or it has rust in it , i've seen heaps of rusty cars , if not you are ok . Good luck with it , i hope you get it soon .
  8. Dont forget auction reports will vary it all depends on the inspector . As a rule ex damaged cars will have an R or RA rating ( Ra is previous damage but good repair ) . The Japs are not known to do good repairs , when i was there i saw spray painting taking place in a workshop in the open at 8 o/clock at night .
  9. Yes they do , as for price it depends on lots of things like driver history , age , location , mods , security , how many k's you travel and they usualy only cover nominated drivers on the policy . They may ask you to install a tracker as well but i found their premium very low and low exces in my case .
  10. Very little diff between s 1 and s 2 in the r34 's . tdawg not a bad looking car you have there , you have to make sure there is no accident history though . R grade cars are a lot cheaper but under the current law you cant comply them in australia . Autos and 4 door cars are much cheaper ( there is very few 34 manuals in japan ) Here is an example of a R car . Lot #891545 at 04/13/2005 Nissan Skyline, 2001 Frame: ER34 Color: black Run (ths km): 32* Equipment: AC PS PW Mark: R Grade: coupe GT TB Displacement: 2500 Syaken: 04.2006 Transmission: F5 Price in Japan - 1118000 ¥ As you can see a late model 34 with low k's but a car the has been in an accident and repaired . Lot #873940 at 04/08/2005 Nissan Skyline, 1998 Frame: ER34 Color: white Run (ths km): 97 Equipment: AC AW PS PW Mark: 4 Grade: coupe GT-T Displacement: 2500 Syaken: Transmission: F5 Price in Japan - 1122000 ¥ This one is chaep because of the high k's + no syaken
  11. It depends on when you buy , at the moment its around $1 aud = 82 jpy . Working on that one car is $20378 and the other $13682 .. By the time you get them in Australia and registered in your name ( including stamp duty ) , one car will be about ( depending on compliance cost say $5 k ) The 1.671 mil car will be about $35500-36000 . The 1.122 mil about $27-28 k
  12. There is a good example ,Lot #873940 at 04/08/2005 Nissan Skyline, 1998 Frame: ER34 Color: white Run (ths km): 97 Equipment: AC AW PS PW Mark: 4 Grade: coupe GT-T Displacement: 2500 Syaken: Transmission: F5 Price in Japan - 1122000 ¥ Nissan Skyline, 1999 Frame: ER34 Color: white Run (ths km): 27 Equipment: AC PS PW Mark: 5 Grade: coupe GT TB Displacement: 2500 Syaken: 07.2006 Transmission: F5 Price in Japan - 1671000 ¥ As you can see they can vary a lot depending on k's and condition . Thats pure auction prices you have to add all the extras to that , like dereg , transport and wharf fees in Japan , shipping , customs and q.t. fees here as well as 10% import duty , 10% gst and $ 4 - 6 k for compliance , then your normal rego , ctp and stamp duty .
  13. The batteries are here guys , i will p.m. the people that asked fof one .
  14. Dont forget the 32 is a lot lighter than the r33 too . Yea the N1's had very good power all the way from 4000 to the cut out .
  15. The easiest way to do it would be to take out the boot lock ( its very easy ) then take it to a locksmith and for about $30 he will cut a new key for you . While you are at it make sure you get a few , you never know when you are going to loose one again .
  16. I didn't see you this morning Wink , i was in a hurry . It must have been about 11 o'clock again ....
  17. It will cost just the same , the only diff is you dont have to comply it , so you save $ 3 -5 k depending on car . All taxes are the same , the other thing is you can bring any car you like isf you owned it and it was registered in your name o/s fo 12 months but you must have been there as well for that period .
  18. I had r33 N1's in my r33 gtr , with full exhaust , power f/c and ebc , everything else stock , even stock airbox , it was good for 11.7 1/4 mile @121 mph . When i was in Japan i wanted to buy N1's for my r34 but because of the different types of N1's i desided to go hks gtss , they are not in the car yet , i want to run the car stock first .
  19. Yea that was me , i live close by .
  20. Unstealable ? nothing will make your car unstealable , they only make it harder . The best protection by far is a tracker and not much more money than a good alarm . If they manage to steal it ( even on a tilttray ) you will know and you can see where its going .
  21. You will find all series 2 r34's have plastic tanks , cars made prior to 10/2000 ( series I ) have alloy radiator tanks . I have a 10/2001 M-spec and it has alloy tank .
  22. if you have all the paperwork it can be cleared the same day . You need import approval , jap derego , invoice and bill of lading ( if you dont have the B/L you can get it from the shipping co ). Depending on what gas it has in it it may have had to be degased ( pre 94 cars usualy ) . If you have all the above you have to pay customs ( tax ) freight and q/t and you can clear it yourself in a day or get a customs agent to do it . I did mine in a day with no prior experience . Good luck with it .
  23. It should have the gtr badge ( plastic ) and 2 coin holders .
  24. Brant keypads are a pain in the ass , i have one in the sti , i would take it out but the insurance won't cover me then . If you install one dont ever get a flat battery . Just get a tracker , not much more than a good alarm these days at around $1250 fitted in your car and you monitor it yourself .
  25. S.K. you got it the wrong way around . + 35 means 35 mm offset to the inside , so + 12 will stick out more than + 35 . In the example above +12 will be 132.7 mm in and 108.6 mm out . +35 will be 136.5 mm in and 66.5 mm out .
