  1. For that price it would want to be series 3 v-spec and a very good stock car . If its all of the above then its good value , but carefull it may look and feel good to you and a few weeks after you buy it you may have to spend big $ , have someone check it out for you . Check to see if you can get insurance and how much it will be and make sure you can afford the maintenence . Dangts , it doesn't matter how much you spend on a gts it will never be a gtr , sure you can make it as quick as a stock car . You dont need to do much to a gtr to make it much quicker though . I had a 33 with just full exhaust 3", N1 turbos , power f/c and ebc (1.2 bar), i even had a stock airbox , it was good for 11.7 1/4 mile @121 mph on stock street radials , try to do that in a gts .
  2. I think you will find you have a crook switch assembly , where the stalk goes in the steering cowling the contackts in there are stuffed .
  3. That was me , i honked you when i went past you the first time , my gtr pearl white M-spec. Nice white 34 you got there it sounded like an auto .
  4. Sorry mate the plates have been sold , i know you showed some interest but i sold them with the car . I dont know about 3 thou clearence though , Arias specify 4 Thou , 3 maybe to close and they may pick up on the bore . You wont have 8.7 : 1 compession unless you use 87 mm pistons , if you go 86.5 you should have 8.6:1 . You may want to use a thiner h/gasket or shave the head a little to achive higher comp . By boring out to 87 you compress a bigger volume to the same comp chamber so you have slightly higher comp . The chrome ring ( only top one ) is fine but you have to run in a bit harder than normal . You have to check the rings for size , you put them in the bore and measure the gap to make sure its not to small or to big , measure the the oil scrapers too . What happen to your engine ? did you do a big end ?
  5. They are like new , ill check the cost of freight ot w.a. and i'll let you know but i know its not cheap .
  6. Mate i can tell you the rims are like new , not a mark on them and they are genuine grt rims .
  7. I have a set dark grey as new from R33 gtr , make me an offer .
  8. Are you sure its tappet noise and not big end bearing noise ? If its bearings you are looking at a total rebuild.
  9. I had mine @4 thou fairly quiet but still noisier than stockers and little more on first start up . Good pistons but make sure you check the rings if you use theirs . I used 87 mm in mine and they gave me 8.7 to compression using a stock h/gasket . Unfortunatly i dont have the car any more to show you so you can hear for yourself , as i have a 34 now .
  10. Its not that much different , gtr offset is 30mm and gts 38 mm , the ones i saw in Japan actualy filled the guards nice .
  11. They look the same as other rb engines , try an import wrecker , last resort a Nissan dealer will have or get them for you .
  12. I have seen a R33 gts in japan with r34 gtr rims , i have a pic of it but to big to post on here , p.m me your email and i'll send it to you , i also have another with r33 gtr rims .
  13. You can use any wheel nuts that are 12mm x 1.25 tread . The 32 nuts will be fine . I cant help you with the centre caps but a Nissan dealer will + they are not cheap . There are some aftermarket caps but i dont know how good they are .
  14. I have budy club suspension to suit r34 gtr , dont know if it will fit gtt , i'm in Sydney and you are welcome to try it out if you like .
  15. Just go to any Nissan wrecker .
  16. Good for you then but its still a long way from the $50k you guys were talikng about . If you imported your v-spec then you should know how much it costs to ship and duty . If you imported it last year then import duty would have been 15% not 10 . The car at 101imports may have been sold for that to an Aussie but i would like to know what it will end up costing complied and registered . As for me getting done dont worry about it , like i said i was in Japan recently and i know exacly how much they cost . Dont forget i didnt buy any gtr , i bought a M-spec , they only built 500 of them from May 2001 so dont compare them with a series 1 v-spec . When i was there i was interested in an nur m-spec but didnt want to pay the asking price of 6,800 million jpy , thats more than they were sold new . I bought my second choice and i'm very happy with it until i get an Nur next time .
  17. There are several errors there xr8eater , I know the exchange rate is 82.xx but in reality you will not get more than 80-81 . Freight is correct @1150 aud but customs clearence is much more , it cost me all up around $1800 and i did my own , no customs agent to pay . Don't forget you have to pay for q/t and they will send you for a steam clean as well . What about towing fees , i didn't pay any i used a trade plate . Import approval is $165 and your RAW will have to do that, not you , the approval will be issued in their name . I don't know if you will get a plate for $3500 $4k is more like it . Sure you can get tyres for less than $1000 ( i can get them for $800 ) but i wouldnt use them in a gtr , so realy you want about 12-1500 . I dont know about qld country but in sydney rego +CTP is more like 600 - 800 ( depending on owners age ) and stamp duty is 3% for first $56 k and 5% on anything over that . If you buy an older cheap car you will probably have to change brake pads and maybe rotors so add another $2 k . They wouldn't use genuine pads or rotors , aftermarket are much cheaper . All that is assuming you get a stock car any mods will have to be removed and you have to source stock parts , some are hard to find used . As for the 101 imports fee , you don't have to deal with them you can deal direct with a jap firm , even the same one 101 imports use and save your $1000 or so. Whatever you do don't make the mistake and import a accident car because they may refuse to comply it then the only option is to destroy it or export it . Just ask at these forums a couple of members had to destroy their cars , 1 was a 34 gtr , the other 33 gtst . Go check the dotars website for info or ask your RAW about accident cars , or rusty cars for that matter . In reality if you want a reasonable series 1 r34 gtr the auction price would be above 3.5 jpy so fob 3.8 mil +. Once you get to that price luxury tax comes in to it as well , so do your homework before you think you will get a cheap 34 here . As i said to pantae before i'll take all the 34 gtrs he can get me for $50k as long as they are complied , no need for rego . The cheapest 34's for sale in sydney dealers i have seen are about $79.900 for a series 1 none v-spec , complied under the old system with accident history and very rough .
  18. You cant get anything in there to grab it with , if the allen key just rolls the only option is to drill the head off then pull the cover off then multy grips to get it out and use a new one . measure the head of the bolt and use a drill a couple of sizes bigger so you destroy the head in order to get the cover off .
  19. I was in Japan last november - december and i went to lots of auctions looking for a r34 gtr , i know you will pay over 4 million jpy at auction for a good series 1 car with no accident history and reasonable ks . I saw a nur m-spec and they wanted 7.8 million jpy . I ended up buying a 2001 m-spec .
  20. 3 different places in Sydney that will do a plate for $4 k , actualy one will do it for less and that includes a blue and import approval as well , a long way from 6+ k they were asking about a year ago .
  21. I can get you a plate for $4 k + tyres + brakes if needed + any repairs you may need . The 4 K includes h/lights as well + all the usual stuff but brakes are very expensive for the gtr.
  22. You think so , i like to see one for that in australia , actualy i'll buy all you can get me for $50 k in aus . The minimum you will pay for a none accident 99 mod at a jap auction is 3 million jpy and it will have over 70 k ks on the clock and a lot of rust . Add to that 80-100,000 jpy for fob then add 10% import duty + $2000 aud to ship it and customs q/t then add to all that 10 % gst . Thats already over $50 k then add to that $4000 to compy it + 1000 for cheap tyres + you will probably need brake pads and maybe rotors . At the very minimum you will be looking at $60k + rego about $2.5- 3 k . I forget to add 5% consumption tax to the auction price as well .
  23. The windscreen has no scratches or damage at all , it was on a car in japan for about 12 months only , if i can't get $190 for it i'll keep it for spare . Thanks for the comments shonen ..
