R34 headlights wanted for compliance , prefer halogen but if xenons are cheap enough i'll look at them too.

R34 gtr air box wanted , if anyone has one for sale let me know . If you have one in Sydney and you want to keep it , if you are kind enough to lent it to me for compliance , i'm happy to give you some cash , beer or whatever ..

Dont know about codes but there is no pull or push boxes . there is pull and push clutches though . As far as i know all 32 + 33 gts are push type clutch ,34's not sure . 32 gtrs early mods are push , late mods are pull . 33 gtrs all pull , 34 gtrs all pull . Some people convert pull clutches to push when they install twin plate clutches .

FS: R34 neo engine package $3.5k
wrxhoon replied to 180athid's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Are you going to convert an r33 to r34 ? what about the rear ? wouldn't it be better to sell the 33 and buy 34 , then you will have the real thing . Thats what i'm in the procces of doing . Anyway good luck with the conversion . -
They dont leak from the gasket usualy , its the round seal you can see in the pic , the crank spins on it and sooner or later it will wear out and let oil pass . When you have the box out pull the seal out and carefuly install the new one in , just tap it in using the old seal and a hammer .

Any headlights ? -
Dont worry what others do , just worry about yourself , this time you got cought , next time will be others. Its not an excuse because others do it . If you were parked close to the corner ( 10 mt in nsw) just pay up . if you were further than 10 mt , take pics and go to court but for $ 70 not worth it as you dont loose points .

Sorry mate i didn't realise you had r32 gtr , the water pump price was for 33 not sure if you can fit to early rb26 ,they look the same to me ask around . The prices i told you are from nissan hornsby ( sydney ) or lintof motors ( sydney ) sometimes one is cheaper than the other and of course they are trade prices . Aftermarket parts , for pistons and bearings try Rocket industries ( sydney ) but again they are trade prices . I'm sure there is some nissan dealers in melbourne and aftermarket parts shops but i live in Sydney so dont know where . I dont know how much work you do yourself if any . Removing the gearbox when you have the engine out , if you get it done somewhere, shouldn't cost you any extra , i always remove engine + g/box togeter , its easier . As for rebuilding the box , of course you dont have to if you want to put up with worn synchros , its not going to bust it will keep crunching on quick gearchanges though . Clutch is a must if you going to put extra power though , i only use a full face single in mine ( its a much heavier pressure plate than stock though ) and it holds very well . I have run 11.7 @ wsid at 121 mph , the car only has n1 turbos ( i rebuild them before puting them on ) , power f/c , ebc @ 1.2 bar and full 3"exhaust , everything else is stock including stock airbox . The power you want you dont need to change rods or even forged pistons for that matter ( but they are almost the same price ) . You can get wiseco forgies for under $1 k but i dont like them , ask others that have used them they maybe ok .
-
Arias forged pistons ( rings +pins included)=1200 ,nissan about $1000, bearings aftermarket $200-250 for both mains +big ends , nissan add 100 , nissan water pump $150 , oil pump $500 ( nissan ) Don't know about rods ( i wouldn't change change them if o.k. unless you want over 600 h.p.) , nissan full gasket set $300-350 and you may need a couple of seals ( don't come with set ), aftermarket cams depending on what you want $900 + for the 2 ,then you have servicing the cil head , reboring the block , grinding the crank and allow a couple hundred for belts and what ever and thats about it . Ah and while you have the donk out you may as well do a clutch and while the box is out the synchros and a while the box is stripped repace a few bearings in it or any worn gears . Synchros + box bearings are cheap labour will not be . N1 turbos are just right on rb26 ( depending on which n1's you have ) I have them in my r33 and they are fantastic , good response and making over 300 kw @ the wheels with only power f/c , full exhaust and 1.2 bar boost .

I dont have anything but i'm in osaka and i will be sending a gtr in a container so i will have room for an engine , let me know what model you want and how much you want to pay and when i'm buying parts for me i'll have a look for you . Cheers , Jerry.
-
How much do you want to pay for it ? how soon do you want it ?
-
I think you will find that gtr parts are cheaper than wrx . labour is much more expensive on the gtr though . I can buy a windscreen for an r33 for $200 same as for any car . Engine parts like pistons for the gtr are under $100 each for an sti they are like $900 each , valves for sti are $200 each , everything is dearer for the wrx . As for handling the rex will understeer when pushed hard , gtr is more neutral and when you try to find the limit it will oversteer . I must say that stis are just as quick if not quicker in tight bends , hairpins ( smaller car ). On fast corners gtr is a little quicker , normal rex ( not sti or aftermarket suspension) has heaps more body roll than gtr but still fairly quick around bends .
-
Look it this way , in the rex you will bust second gear changing hard 1st - 2nd . In the gtr if you manage to bust the box, ( you have to have very agro clutch , button or twin plate and heaps of grunt 500-600 + ) it will be 3rd gear , 1st and 2nd are very strong . Another important thing to consider , you can buy a gtr box anytime you want second hand for about $1 k and a new one for around $3 k . A second hand box for a rex is $2400 from a wrecker exchange and i wouldn't buy one , it maybe busted . Just the parts to fix 2nd gear alone are $1 k , you have to change main shaft ( it will be stripped ) 1st + 2nd gear , second gear hub and reverve idler cause subaru changed something to make you buy more parts . I just did a wrx box for a friend last week it cost him $1200 in parts including 3rd gear syncro ( it was stuffed ). To rebuild a donk in the R will cost anywhere from $6 - 10 k depending on what you do . Parts are not that expensive , pistons +rings $1 k from nissan or from $1 k for forgies . bearings are cheap like 250 for both big end + mains , less for aftermarket , $500 for oil pump , $120 water pump , $90 timming belt $300 for a full gasket set then you have maching and cil head . Labour is much dearer than a rex rebuild though . Gruntn , yea i'm in sydney + don't come to Newcastle that often , only on the way to Nelson bay . two.o6l , how is the R going ? done 11's yet ? If you haven't you should be doing it every run , maybe low 11's i would think .
-
Yes they are 5 degree increments . Some timing lights will work on the loop some won't .
-
Keep the rex and buy a gtr as well , you have the best of both worlds . I have owned several rexes from 94 model to 01 and an sti ( 4 door 00 ) , just sold my 01 and 00 sti . Reason buying r34 gtr . Have 2 gtrs both 33's ( series 1 +series 3) You can't compare the gtrs with rexes , totaly different cars , gtrs been far superior . Now selling a 4-5 yo car you bought new and looked after it to buy a 15 yo car with a million k's under its belt ( don't look whats on the clock its bull***t ) and more than likekly thrashed the shit out of it maybe a little hard . In my case its easy as i do my own work so don't have to pay for labour and get parts cheap as well . You won't smash the g/box in the R if its o.k when you buy it , they are very strong , the synchros maybe a bit stuffed though But who cares if it crunches a bit . What do you expect after 15 years of abuse . You may need a new clutch ( too many 8000 rpm launches )and the donk maybe on its last legs , they don't last forever . Once you drive the 15 yo R you will never want to go back to the rex , you will want to buy the latest R just like me . There is no way you can get the rex to go like the R , if you manage to get it to go anywhere as quick you will be braking it every time you give it a bit . Its like comparing a boy to man . Thats the reason a new wrx in japan in 2002 was 2.5million JPY (3 mil for sti )and a GTR was 5.5mil for mspec , 6 mil for a v-spec and more for nur spec . Good luck with whatever you do .
-
What model gtr did they come from ?
-
If i wasn't going to japan on saturday i would have done it for you . Ring around and ask for prices , try nrg at Rydalmere ,talk to Nick , they are reasonable . Do you ahve a complete kit ? presure plate thrust and clutch plate ? Make sure you get the flywheel machined too . Around $300-400 , you should get it done for .

Thanks sewid , how is your car going ? Evo_lee , Thanks for all the advice you have given me and i'll give you a buzz when i get there .
