RB26 rebuild problems (oil squirters)
wrxhoon replied to Amaru's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
did they use the correct pistons then ? how do you know they were installed the correct way did you see them take them out ? the piston maybe correct on the conrod but the conrod put in back to front ! how much did the oil pressure drop when the broke off ? did it start knocking ?( the big ends ) if it did maybe you had incorrect clearences on the big ends then you wore them and then they may hit the squirters . another reason the squirter may not be in the right position ( not in its grove like turned around a little ) , i have seen this in an sr 20 . -
RB26 rebuild problems (oil squirters)
wrxhoon replied to Amaru's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
maybe they installed the pistons back to front ? one side of the piston has like a cut especialy so they wont hit the squirters . i have arias pistons im my rb26 ( 87 mm ) never had a problem . -
if the belts are all tight then you may have problems , to check take the belts off one by one then you will find out what it is . when the belt is out try to free spin the alt it should spin freely and no noise .

as i posted before i'm not saying how i do it but i can assure you if i gave you my keys and the remote + 8 hours you will not get the engine going . even if you have another ecu to put in there ( some thieves do that to bypass your immobiliser ) it won't start . the only way to steal my car would be to tow it away and then i'll know its moving , its speed and where its going and if it stops where it stopped . -
Rev cut? 6000 RPM in 4th gear on GTR?
wrxhoon replied to underground's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
stock ecu , speed cut comes @8000 rpm in 3rd and a bit over 6000 in fourth in fifth it will be a bit over 5000 . it cuts out when you reach about 185-190 kmh or 114-1180mph -

GTR STANDARD CAM GEARS $50 Excellent condition 30,000km’s GTR R33 $30 for them , i can pick up . -
it will be the driveshaft , take the starter out put it on the bench vice ( secure it on the vice ) then get a 12 volt battery put - on the vice or starter body and the +where the + ( thick cable) was when it was on the car . with a screwdriver touch the + pole with the solinoid then it should push the drive out and spin . if the bush at the end hasn't got free play just grease it then spin it so the grease goes in it , dont put to much grease on it though as it will spew everywhere . when you put it back it should be ok but dont be surpriced if after a few months it does it again . check the ring gear teeth and the drive teeth for wear , damage as well . starters on the gtst are easy to remove on the gtrs are a lot harder ( hard to get the top bolt )

i think you will find its the switch itself thats your problem . thats the one on steering the stalk that has the lights and blinker . you can get them new from nissan or try second hand

Protecting your baby from theft
wrxhoon replied to someonestolecc's topic in General Automotive Discussion
no i wont be siting in the back seat . a few years ago i had a gtir and i had an imobiliser( pre tracker days ) in it very simple one at that but not a mass produced one that every thief knows about it . the car was parked in the sydney fish markets all night , they broke in to it and must have spent all night trying to get it going , they cut the siren off bypassed the alarm tha t it had in it when i bought the car and when they couldnt start it they pulled all the dash out, ( they unscrewed it not busted it ) obviously they wanted the car intact , at the end when the couldnt get it started they pushed it for about 200 mts and then the must have got shitty and kicked all the panels in even the roof but they wlked away empty handed . they didnt even bother to take the head unit the just left it on the floor . i wish i had the tracker in that car ........... thats why i said i would give him 8 hours to start my gtr , this immobiliser i have in the r is much better than the one in the old gtir . now dont ask me to make one for you the answer will be a big noooo , because then every one will get to know them . even when i sell my car i just take it out so no one finds out how it works . -

Protecting your baby from theft
wrxhoon replied to someonestolecc's topic in General Automotive Discussion
dont need one , i can give you my keys and the remote and 8 hours time , if can start my car she is all yours but i can assure you you wont start her . the only way you can take her is tow away and then i will have you tracked and i'll know where you are . i can tell on what side of the street my car is parked with the tracker i have . -
Protecting your baby from theft
wrxhoon replied to someonestolecc's topic in General Automotive Discussion
if you knew where the tracker was ( or even that the car has one in it ) yes you are able to disarm it or even cut it and throw it away . a good installer will put it in a place where its very hard to get to it even if you know or suspect that the car has one in it . in my car i can tell you where it is even where its connected and with normal tools ( spanners sockets screwdrivers ....) you will not be able to get to it , you will need a grinder to get to it . what thieves usualy do they steal the car take it and parked it in a public car park ( even on the road ) for a day or so if no one takes it away they know there is no tracker in it . it will probably take that long with quiktrak by the time they got in touch with the owner then check it out . with a self monitoring tracker like ezytrak you know immediately someone has broken in to your car long before they even started it and as soon as they move it you immobilise it with your phone . you know if they tow it away ,it has tow away detection so you know they actualy moving it but they havent started it , you cant stop them but you know where its going the speed its traveling at all times . if you have the software and a laptop you can see it moving along the road . thats the best protection you can get , you can actualy catch the thieves in the act . good protection for car jacking as well , you just give them the car and as soon as they move away you cut out on them . -
i'm looking for the rear pods to suit r33 gtr , must be stockers any colour will do as they are going to be painted , prefer in good nick but will consider anything .
