  1. its very hard to pull it off in one piece as it has sponge backing , never tried to pull it off in a skyline but i have done it in other cars , its a nightmare . even if you get it off in one piece you have to reglue it on with contact glue and its very hard to get it on right if you make a mistake you cant take it off as soon as you touch it it sticks on hard .
  2. got one guys thanks , craved , i think the blinker lens comes off , i'll let you know when i put mine on
  3. $220 is bit high , i can get them for 170 each from a local importer , thanks for the offer though .

  6. how did you manage to put it in one tooth out when the belt has lines marked on it and each line has to match the mark on each pulley .
  7. no but if you bump them they will move like 90 degrees just like they sprung , like you said they did . what i said was be carefull not to let them jump like that cause you may bend valves ( you are moving the valves and not the pistons ) if they hit the top of the pistons . if you are replacing the timing belt make sure you know what you are doing , incorrect timing can stuff your engine as will incorrect tension , even the bolts that hold the tensioner and iddler pullies must be tensioned right . do them to tight and you break the bolts not tight enough and they come undone . if you havent got a manual do a search in these forums and you will find how to do timing belt .
  8. you are right i didnt see you , i was probably inside paying for the fuel .
  9. dont forget that a couple of mm out it will be a few degrees and thats enough to make it slugish , provided you did everything right and didnt bend any valves , if you did it would be missing though so you should be able to tell . when you check the timing you will find out , hopefully she will be ok . scuzzy , yes thats right if on top dead centre but carefull you can bend valves if you let it jump hard and hit top of piston . when you have the timing belt off you shouldnt move the crank or cams until belt is back in place .
  10. that was me mate , i didnt see you , what were you driving ? i was i a hurry and a bommodore almost reversed in to me . i fill her up there quite often .
  11. check the timing , did you mark the position of the cas before removal ? did you put it back at the same pos ? my guess is your timing is a little retarded thats why you had to up the idle . so check timing with a timing light , about 15 deg .
  12. i have one check pm
  13. i have one came off my r33gtr , you can have for $100 ( about $500 new from nissan ) in sydney
  14. why pay $1 k for an alarm ? the only good part of it is the imobiliser the siren is useless . for $1250 you can have a tracker fitted and you monitor it yourself so it costs yoy nothing more . this way you know where ypour car is all the time and you know if anyone is tempering with it .
  15. sorry to hear bob , i'll keep an eye out someone will want centre caps for them . you wont be covered by your contents insurance , they dont cover cars or car accesories .
  16. my guess is the switch itself , they play up just like the headlights . take it out and have a look at the contacts .
  17. r33 gtrs did not come out until 95 so yea r32 were sold all throught 94 . r33 gtsts came out 93 . just like r34 gtst's come out in 98 and gtrs in 99
  18. no blitz , wrxhoon =wrxhoon and tracka = tracka . tracka has a v6 ( 00 ) sti and i have a r33 gtr burgandy little work done to it , has run 11.7 1/4 in wsid and an 01 rex stock . trackers sti has plenty work done to it good for 12.5 1/4 mile .
  19. well done moanie , i dont know about the stock bit though .....
  20. 10% from january 1 and 5% 2010 . drift , all the more reason that i dont want to hand over $60 k for a car that i havent seen . at least if i inspect then i only have myself to blame but i have enough knowledge to know when i see good car . now if they damaged it in transit thats why you take insurance . as for aftermarket parts , i have a set of wheels to put on it + i can get my hands on a catback exhaust , i also have brambo pads to put on just for compliance if the pads on the car that i buy are worn more than 50% . i dont blame you for charging $7500 for compiance , good if you can get but i can get it done for $5500 including tyres the normal price here is $6500 but that will come down as more people get plates .
  21. no i dont work for ATO. i'm in the market for a r34 gtr though and i have done my homework . i'm going to japan late november for 2 weeks and i hope to buy one then and bring it in after january 1 to take advantage of the reduced import duty . who was the dealer in sydney that got burned with the gtr ? to my knowledge there is only 2 raws and another one in a couple weeks . how did he miss the mods ? if you are in the trade you have to be totaly blind as you know what to look for . another reason i dont want to buy a car without seen it , what if it was in a previous accident ? then you cant comply it at all .
  22. from 2010 the plan is to have 5% import duty just like 4wd and commercials have now
  23. ok thats it , you must have made a mistake in your calculations in the previous example then .
  24. thats what i'm waiting for as well , going to japan in end of november and i'm hoping to buy an r34 gtr by the time its redy for import it will be january 1 . the saving on that would be even greater when you calculate the lct as well . in my case it may just keep the price below the $57009 the curent amount the lct cuts in drift , i dont know how you calculate the lct but this is how its done . to use your example of the first car $ 59740 fob . 59740 +10%gst15% import duty 8961 =68701+1400 ship=70101 +7010 =77111 now the lct is calculated in the portion above the 57009 . 77111-57009=20102 but you dont pay lct on the gst part of the 20102 so deduct 9% of it 1809 =18293 x25 % =4573 lct so total cost $ 81684 landed here + rego +stamp duty + compliance . other costs $50 import license + $25 transfer funds + you may have to pay to steam clean it when it gets here .
  25. if anyone is intersted in the b/bar make me an offer
