  1. Better weight balance/distribution on any 911 Porka???? I don't think so dude, they are all rear end heavy, even the turbo awd is very light at the front. Here are a few facts about the Porkas GT2 kerb weight 1440 kg !!! This where it has it on the new R and the other one is power, GT2 has 390kw and 580nm of torque . Even the heavy weight 911 turbo only weighs 1585 kg with 353 kw and 620 nm of torque and when you push the button she will pump out 680 nm for a few seconds . As for the GT3's not a lot of power here ( around 305 kw and 405 nm, more torque than any n/a production engine per lt, even more than F430) but only weigh 1375 kg !!! The new R is at least 300 kg heavier, thats a lot of beef to cart around so the new R must be very well balanced car to be able to mix it up with any of these Porkas. In my view the R is a direct competitor to the 911 turbo and according to reports it holds its own on the Porka, I must say one thing, the turbo Porka feels like she has no turbo lag at all and she has heaps of power from about 1800 rpm up, all the way to the the red line, hopefully the R feel s the same.
  2. I have a set of R34 GTR rims in Sydney, as new , no scrapes at all.
  3. I have a gtt steering wheel, the only difference is the GTR writting in the horn part. Have a look here : http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Sp...le-t185917.html
  4. If you do a search you will find pics of the pistons from an RB 26 that the rear turbo let go in one of my ex cars a few years ago .
  5. 1.5 bar boost and stock turbos ???? I wonder how long she is going to last. If I was you, I would back off the boost to under 1 bar until you replace the turbos . Stock R33 GTR turbos are not ball bearing .
  6. If you are going for Toyo T1R , there isn't much difference in 265X35X18 and 275X35X18, you can use either of them , 265's are 265mm wide and 275's are 271 mm wide , only 4 mm diff . 275/35ZR18 99Y 8.2 649 271 303 295 315 9.5 505 9.0 - 11.0 265/35ZR18 97Y 8.2 644 267 301 291 313 9.5 508 9.0 - 10.5 From Toyo website .
  7. Are you sure he didn't try to do the other wheels with different nuts? Nissan use 12x1.25 mm nuts/studs, just like subaru do, most other jap cars use 12x1.5 mm. This is just in case you replace the studs and stuff them up again!!
  8. All series III have red inserts, makes no difference if they are V-spec or not .
  9. Thats the top of the range , NUR M-Spec is the same as V-Spec II NUR with heated leather seats and heated external mirrors and the only other difference, M-Spec you could buy with an alloy bonnet or c/f bonnet at no extra cost , I must say almost all the M-Specs I have seen had alloy bonnets . As far as weight goes M-specs are 10-15 kg heavier, leather is heavier and the larger battery they have . I didn't go from a WRX to GTR, I mostly own both at the same time, I don't have a WRX or STI now but I have a liberty GT, well it s smashed as of last Friday.
  10. Well thats my opinion, no proof as I didn't buy the car, thats the reason I say they wanted to much money for it . When I said this is the car you want to buy, I ment a NUR M-spec, not that very car, I wouldn't know where that car is now or if its for sale, that pic was taken in 2004 at Osaka. I don't care how much pressure you put in the tyres. if you have stock WRX susspension you can't compare it to a GTR or even STI, they are much harder. I have owned several WRX's , STI's and GTRS.
  11. This is the car you want to buy and leave it alone, only light mods , buyt a good low km car and she won't let you down, I didn't buy this because they wanted to much money back in 2004 so I bought an M-spec. Daily driver? Why not but don't expect limo ride on any GTR or STI for that matter.
  12. None of it is correct. All R33 GTRs have airbags standard , Series on e have drivers side standard and passengers side option, all series II and series III have standard drivers and passengers side . The vin will tell you for sure is it is a V-spec or not . The main difference , V-specs have a finned rear diff and ALSD on the cluster, attessa is different but hard for you to tell. they have slightly harder dampers and they are a little lower .
  13. I have a clutch fan in Sydney, how much do you want to pay for it?
  14. Import duty is not the problem mate as it is only 10% now and it will go to 5% sometime in future, just like it is on 4WDS and commercials. Luxury tax is the one as it is 25% and that is levied an all cars regardless if they are made here or O/S .
  15. If he had a spun bearing he would know it, she would have a very loud knocking. When you run the engine without oil I can tell you will do some damage to the bearings because there is no oil there so the bearing will be rubbing on the crank, if you take the big ends out you will see the markings on them . This doesn't mean that they are stuffed, in a normal ( none high performance engine) could run like that for years but in a boosted RB26, I don't know how long she will last .
  16. The loom is part of the cars harness and stays on the car, same with the plugs . Its just like your intrument cluster. When I get a chance I'll take a couple of pics .
  17. Standard R34 GTR MFD
  18. Best case, faulty oil sender or gauge, if you don't have any oil pressure at all its not good news , even starting it at idle speed will do some damage to the bearings .
  19. A 911 turbo sells for USD 126 K in the states and $334 k here , give ot take a few $$$, even at todays exchange rate of 85 something the porka is more than double the price here. For the same reason the GTR will be almost double too. They don't have LCT in the states and as stated before all cars are cheaper there but when it comes to cars under our LCT the difference is very little .
  20. Item: R34 GTR MFD Age: 2000 Condition: excellent Price: $1190 To Fit: (What car) R34 GTR , maybe a GTT Location: Sydney, I will post anywhere at buyes expense Contact: Pm.or email: [email protected] Comments: Excellent condition and working perfect.
  21. Yes you can as long as you re-install them in the same journal that they came from . If I was you , I would check the crank , measure the big end and main journals and measure the run out, if all O.K replace all the bearings ( they are very cheap).
  22. Nissan Aus price $3400 each , give or take a few $$$
  23. I hope you realise by the time you get it here it will cost you a lot more than the original price , you will have to pay GST, LCT and import duty.....
