  1. I have one complete with coupling in Sydney, make me an offer via pm if you are keen .
  2. It is not mate , I never buy a car before I see it in the flesh and take it for a good spin. If and when it is sold here I will have a good look at it, take one for a long drive and only then I will consider , depending on price if I will put one in my garage. If I decide to buy one then I will have another problem ..... what do I do with the M-spec.... Mick was going to be the next owner but he already got another car .....
  3. This and the EVO X makes the new STi look VERY ordinary Sure you can compare the evo with the suby but the GTR is in another league, no comparison with the other two..
  4. You want 320 RWKW and you even think of using old pistons ??? Especialy ones that have 250k k's ?? Don't even think about them .. Besides a block that has 250k ks will have some lip and some bore wear so you will beed to bore and hone to the next oversize . Go the forged and if you are not going to assemble it , make sure you find someone you can trust to do the job right the very first time ..
  5. I will have to wait, see it in the flesh and test drive it before I put my name to an order form... 480 PS , sounds good but don't forget she will be very heavy at 1700 kg ??? Don't forget they want to compete with the 911 turbo, that has 480 PS sub 12 sec 1/4 mile ( easy) and 0-100 in 3.7 sec , (Porsche claims) and Porsche are usualy conservative with their power and times. By they way 0-60 MPH is a little quicker than 0-100 kmh.Top speed just a shade under the 911 turbo so you get Porsche performance for 1/2 price or even less. Looks like the the 530 PS model will be a GT2 competitor but still AWD.... I hope they sell them new here in volume so you can't bring them in under sevs, this will be easier to insure by mainstream insurers and have a better se-sale value too.
  6. You will need a little practice on your starts to do that but as you don't have heaps of power it will be easy, you just need the right RPM so you get enough wheel-spin not to bog down and not to much so you don't move .. R34's are a little quicker than 33's ( both same power cars ) because of the 6 speed box . It has beeter gear ratios and you don't go into 5th so you change the same amount of gears.. My car is still going great, no issues there but I don't get to drive it much, I'm not going to do any mods to it , I'm happy as it is . I may look at the new GTR if and when it comes here, depending on a test drive and price .... maybe I shouldn't .... a Magna will suit me better I think....maybe a Camry.... Maybe I should stick to my GT... I don't really know what I want ...
  7. This has a 10 on street tyres with a resonable 60 footer. We did 11 flat at 129 MPH in a series III GTR , street tyres, full street trim, weight and 18" 34 GTR rims , the car was making about 360 AWKW . Never went bact to crack a 10 because of the cage issue, car was built to be a street stock looking car , not a drag or race car.. Spiining all the way in 1st, still managed 1.8 60ft.
  8. I have GTR rims for sale ..
  9. It will be a fair bit quicker than the GTR with the same power as long as you use drag slicks . You should do a 10 with little practice on starts . I know some people will argue otherwise....before you ask why the GTS is lighter and you have a lot less drag because you are only spinning 2 wheels not four . This is the reason GTRS with the same power as STI's have a better 60ft time . The suby is a true 4WD, the GTR is not . Of course if the GTS and the R both have street tyres the R will be quicker ET but the GTS will have higher trap speed . As for a street GTR with 300 RWKW ( even 300AWKW for that matter) doing a flat 11, I would like to see that , you don't have a hope in hell ....as long as the car is full street weight you won't go near it.
  10. Why should it be the other way around???
  11. I'm refering to a normal street car here NOT a lightened drag car or a rear drive car with drag slicks or drag radials... I think I ought to know what I'm talking about as I have owned several GTRs and I still own a 34 that has 11.8 1'4 mile with very light mods. I still say a 300 AWKW STREET GTR ( not lightend in anyway ) will not get you a 10 second pass . Yes I have driven a series III R33 GTR with over 350AWKW ( true power not happy dyno power either ) , the car did a flat 11 at 129 mph , yes I could do a 10 in this car but never went back because I didn't want to put a roll cage in that car . As for me not being a good driver... well that mabe so ... thats for others to say not me....all I can say is i have had a few 1/4 mile passes... in various model GTRS and a lot of other cars as well ...dare I say ( gussing here) a lot more than you ever had . I will say this, the series III GTR with over 350rwkw was very hard to do a good 60ft ( 1.7 at best) , same car with less power ( around 300awkw, before she had the tomei stroker ) could do 1.6 60 ft with the same wheels tyres combo, R34 GTR rims and Tyo T1R's . By the way you don't need pod filters on a 33 or 34 GTR, or aftermarket cooler with mild mods, like ECU, ebc and exhaust you can do a very high 11 @ 115 mph. As I said before my 34 M-spec ( the heaviest of all GTR's ) has a 11.8 pass ( or several for that matter) @118 mph. The only mods are : Full nismo exhaust, ebc,GTSS turbos ( only bacause I dont trust the stockers), Nismo injectors and HKS hard cooler pipping ( again because I dont trust the stock rubber pipes. Thats all the mods , no cooler and no pod filters .
  12. 10C on the top of 98, no use to you unless you tune your car for it .

  14. Let me tell you high 10's don't came that easy mate , its a long way from high 11's to high 10's . You will need a lot more than 300 AWKW to do high 10's, if you have the power to do a high 10 ( over 350AWKW ) you will have a lot of wheelspin . High 11's are easy for a GTR with very mild mods .
  15. Yes and no . 100 ron means you can tune it with more timming so you get a little more power. No because ethonol is not a lubricant like oil it is corrosive .. You make your own choice ..The good bit about it, it only has 5% ethonol.. Owgasm , It is not % mate its 100ron and V power is 98 ron , you can buy 91,95,98 and 100 rom pump fuel here now .
  16. I have owned a few wrx's, 2 sti's and a few GTR's . A stockish rex runs 13's and a stockish GTR runs 12's thats the difference . An 11 second wrx will break a gearbox or 2 ans 11 second GTR shouldn't . My 34 with just GTSS's, exhaust , power f/c and ebc ( 1 bar boost) has run 11.8 @ 118 mph. I have run 12.2 @110mph on a stock 33 GTR with just exhaust and power f/c .
  17. Yes it has 100 ron and ethonol.
  18. Don't worry about that , you can change gears with the gearstick as well as the buttons on the steering wheel, move the gearstick forward to go up a gear and back to go down a gear . You have an indicatior on the dash that shows you the gear it is in at anytime. You can treat it just like a manual gearbox ( and it is the same as a normal nanual box) the only difference is you dont have to push the clutch in it does it automaticaly . Believe me these are excellent boxes , they are not like normal autos with power hungry torque converters , this is why they are quicker that normal manuals, a normal auto will never be as quick as the manual in the same car with the same power. Ah and the bonus.... people that whinge about the twin plate cluthes, won't have any problems with these...
  19. I have a pair in Sydney in good nick , make an offer via p.m.
  20. Well I didn't want to go in the final detail , I wanted to say that they are a manual box with a normal hard coupling , unlike autos that have a torque converter coupling that eats power. These boxes are the way of the future , they are the death of the manual box as we know it now and in my opinion the death of the normal auto as we know it today. Autos use a lot more fuel than manuals in stop start traffic because of the dreaded torque converter . DSG ( direct shift gearbox) is the latest of these type of boxes , yes they use 2 wet type clutches one does 3 gears ( 1,3,5 ) and the other does the other 3. The next gear is pre engaged so its very quick change in auto mode but if you want to change it yourself it can be slow when the computer doesn't know when you are going to change, especialy on the down change . Contary to what people think DSG is developed and built by Borg Warner ( for VW) not developed and built by VW .They will be building them for other car makers as well so you will see heaps more very soon. Getrag is another trany builder that will be building these ( twin clutch boxes), actualy they already have , that could be the one in the new GTR . The new BMs have these getrag boxes in 7 speed , I think they call them DCT. The BMW SMG and the Ferrari use a different type of box its slower to change gears and both BMW and Ferrari are going the DSG (type) boxes already. The new evo 10 has a DSG box as well, not sure if its made by Getrag or Brg Warner but its the same set up. The only uincertainty about these type of boxes is durability but i'm sure they will be made durable and made to hold heaps of torque . They are a little heavier than a normal manual box with the same strength and same amout of gears and cost a little more to make as well. Of course car makers will charge a lot more for them for now anyway..
  21. The difference is simple , tiptronics are autos ( with a torque converter and yes you can change your own gears ) DSG'S are manuals with a clutch but you dont have a clutch pedal , it engages automaticaly , you can change your own gears and can also be used as an auto. Its the way things will go in the future because you have the best of both worlds . Personaly I can live with a DSG and or a manual but NOT with an autospastic.... I have one right now actualy .... autos suck ...
  22. You don't take the 12mm nut off ( you can't take it off even if you want to) you undo it a little so you unlock the shaft. Depending on what you want to do with the pick up point, if you want to lower the pick up point you shorten the shaft and lengthen it if you want the clutch to grab higher.Keep in mind one turn of the shaft will make a fair bit of difference .
  23. Are you serious? Handbake starts are for learners only . If you can't take off without resorting to handbrake buy a subaru liberty, they have a built in hill start , you can't roll back !!!
