I can't see how thy did it without removing/dropping the g/box Richo, how did they get to the 4 m6 bolts at the rear of the sump? You can't see them unless you drop it, the bellhousing covers them !!! To be honest even if they split the box they will be very hard to get to unless they removed the clutch and flywheel ....

Depending on the car he has , heaps of cars have them stock, just put a Nissan sticker on it, if you are worried and another on the bleed valve box ..
-
Cool mate, still it will pay you to check and bleed it, it will only take a few minutes then you can put that to rest and look elsewhere.
-
Oil will always increase compression, its how much increase, that you maybe able to tell if its bottom end ( could be worn /broken ring or scorred bore) or cylinder head ( valves ) . Much easier to do a leakdown test then you can see the % of pressure you loose and you can hear where you are loosing it as well. You will find the engine was cold so the figures will be a little higher with a warm engine and if the throttle was closed with WOT it will be higher again. His problem is number 3 is much lower, so as long as they were all checked the same way and the same cranking speed he has a problem with number 3..

The rods should be all the way to the front when the gats are shut . If you have a compressor undo the hose and pump 10 psi or so the rods should move to the rear thn the gates open . If you can blow 10-12 psi you can do that too but you must have strong lungs .. Look in the cat first and if you dont find anything there then look at the gates ... One of the gates open you won't have any boost, any leaks in the system ( blown cooler or pipe ) you wont have vacium ( or maybe very little vacium ). What kind of turbos are you buying?
-
So you don't really know that a turbo/turbos let go, right ? If you have a cat undo the the cat where it joins the front pipes and check in there . Have you checked the wastegates to make sure they dont stay open?
-
Was the engine removed to fit the sump baffle? If yes was it removed with the g/box? What i'm saying is if the rear pipe that goes in the back of the box was undone the system would get air in it and you must bleed it ...
-
Well i have offered to run him but no reply as yet, i wouln't hold my breath though...
-
Number 3 looks a bit sus, was it the last one to test ? If yes the battery could have been low and cranking it slower than the others . If it was done in order number 3 is not as healthy as the others. Leakdown test will be more comprehensive . Did the front turbo let go? Did you do a comp test ever before this happened?

New Wheels, Stripped Threads
wrxhoon replied to letemlaf's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
are you sure you used the correct pitch nuts? You said you used new nuts , were they all the same ? Nissans use 12x1.25 mm pitch, same as Subaru, others use 12x1.5 mm pitch. You can buy the studs new from Nissan -
Did you have a new clutch put in it recently? If yes the probably didn't bleed it . Try bleeding the system , you will only need 1 lt of ATF max .
-
Mount it as close as you can to the actuator, buy a illtle black box and put it in if you are worried, leave it open underneath so the hoses can go in and mount the box under the strutbrace..

Forged Piston Pb Clearance Variance
wrxhoon replied to quick31's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Tomei have 86.5 mm pistons you can have 2"thou clearance but you must use a torque plate to bore it out and hone it. You won't have piston slap at all cold or hot . What SK said is right though but for the amount of power you want they will be fine. I must say they are a little pricey though, like all jap pistons . -
I wouldn't worry mate, Zac is O.k. probably busy .....

Dude its not "may work the heaters in the mirrors" it does in my car ( no ifs no buts no maybes ). I'm not getting cranky either dude, i'm just trying to explain what this switch does . I think you are full of shit though by posting this : looks like either a rear wiper switch or a rear demister switch, but i don't know much about 34 interiors either. And by this: and i think there is also a good possibility that jmac is right too.( heating up washer fluid, what a load of crap. By the way i have a full translation of the owners manual thanks to Jesse ....
-
How about these ? Genuine Racing Hart M5 18x7.5 inch (Wheels only) Multi-stud PCD 5x100 or 5x114.3 Offset 48
-
You can't even read dude, I never said I was an expert, what I said is "leave it for the experts to translate", no more guessing by you as you already had several goes at it !!! Contary to what you think there are some people on here that know a little more than you ........ I doubt you beleive this though as you think you know it all. By the way I don't think I know it all ( I hardly know anything actually), its because I want to learn that I put a copy of the manual on here, someone that knows ( NOT a know-all like you ) may translate it ...
-
It could very well be dude , his pic is not very clear, Imac's pic in post 3 looks the same as mine though . Thats the reason i put up a copy of the owners manual , it shows the same buttons as my car has but mine is a late model GTR(one of the last of them made) so GTT's may/maynot be different. I may add that that switch may activate other demisters as well but i know for a fact that it heats the mirrors because i have actually tested it in my car and the other ones do the seats, i have tested them as well. A fluent Jap speaker like Streeter , Rezz, evolee ... should be able to tell us what it says in the book ...
-
Bring it on dude, you name the day and i'll be there. Make sure you drive your car there with street tyres and the 20" chrommies . Mine as you can see is all stock as it left the Nissan factory..Actually the baby next to it would show you some exhaust pipes but i don't own it anymore and the guy that lawfully owns it doesn't have it either ( was stolen a couple of days ago) otherwise i'll get him to bring it too
-
Shot myself in the foot ? why ? I know exacly what it does on my car dude, by the your posts you have no idea. Its all guessing for you and you say i shot myself in the foot . This is what you thought it was : My theory is that it heats up the washer fluid. But that's just a theory..... Then this: I'm voting for it engaging the nanotechnology bearings in the hyperdrive fission reactors Then this: Headlight demister??? Superboost FTW!!!1~ At least i put up a copy of the owners manual for someone that speaks Japanese to translate , you just said you can't read japanese . No more guessing please leave it for the experts this time ok. By the way i never disputed that the swich may do other demisting as well as external mirrors ....
-
Here we go guys i hope this will put any doubts you have to rest : Like i said before that switch does the 2 external mirrors in my R34 M-spec and the switch next to it and another on the other side of the steering wheel heats the seats . The drivers side switch for the drivers seat and the passengers side switch the pass seat . These were standard on all BNR34 M-specs ( at least thats what i think). pic 1) BNR-34 owners manual 2) The page where it shows you what the switches are, 3) The page where it tells you in detail what the swith does , some of our jap speakers maybe able to translate. 4) The location of the 2 switches ( pic taken from my car ) 5) The glass in my drivers side mirror ( rear) shows the heater elements and plug. 6) The passengers side seat heater switch taken from my car .

I have a set for sale here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...=145896&hl=

No registration fee is needed ( unless you get them to monitor it) and you dont even need maps but if you want them you can get the software for about $150-200. The only on-going cost is the cost of the sim+any calls made from the car to you. The unit will give you a longintude and latitude every second you can check that on any map, call the cops or shut the engine down if its driving.
-
What about R34 GTR rims?
-
As long as you have a clear vision of the sky , it will be able to give you it's location, if it's in container it won't work but then it will give you the last known location. Same when you go in a tunnel or underground car park, it will give you the location of the point where it disappears.
