Did you check piston to bore clearances ? Ring gaps ?
-
The lights must be self ajusting and they must have washers to comply with ADR. The series III 33 gtrs that were imported under the old system were complied with the xenons legaly but under the new system you cant comply them unless thye are self ajusting and have washers . All plastic h/lights go hazy / yellow in japan of course the older they are the worse but i have seen even 34 lights like that but not as bad as some 33's.

TRhat would depend on how happy the dyno would be on the day , thats why i put up the 1/4 mile et and trap speed, go around the the drags and see how mny gtrs will do 121 mph with the mods that i had .

I want to see you get a 4.5 mil jpy car inaustralia complied for $68,920 dude . Thats not the auction price thats fob price . So you would hase to buy it at 4.4mil. Here is a realistic brakedown on what it will cost . I will use exchange rate @ 85jpy=1$ , in todays trading it was 86.5 so you maybe lucky to get 85. Cost of car $52,900 10% import duty $ 5,290 shipping including q/t , customs entry broker fees tow to raw say ( it will be more) $ 2,000 10% gst on all the above $ 6,019 Now what about luxury tax ? About $ 2,500 You will not get it complied for $4000 including tyres and import aplication , Its more like $5,000 and if you need brake pads or other parts removed you add a couple of thousand more . But lets say just $5k $,5000 ...................... Total $73,709 This is the minimum it will cost you + rego and stamp duty and it will take a minimum of 6 weeks from the time you buy it , more than likely more so add some interest to that and you can see why i told you to expect to pay 10-15 k extra for a local car . I wouldnt buy a car for that kind of money ( i had to earn my money , i dont know about you ) if i didnt inspect the car parsonaly but then again its your call . If i was you i would go for ahoilday top Japan and maybe pick a car then, i must say that a lot of cars, even very young are rusty . The auction sheet may say 4.5 or even 5 and they are rusty , when i say rusty i dont mean rusted out, i mean they have been exposed to salt and they have the cancer in them . At worst case it maybe rusty enough not to be able to comply it !! The only option you have then is to send it back to japan ( or elsewhere ) or destroy it . The car you are looking for you wont find in australia anyway, even in japan you will have trouble finding one with side airbags. Whatever you do, dont believe the oddos, here or in japan just look at the car condition and disregard the k's on the clock , even in japan they change the clusters then put the original back in to sell it . You may even end up with a car that was a race car in japan then put back to stock .

'They are the big AR60'S group A turbos and they are sleeve bearing. I will try and get some pics posted on here .

They have 92779 and the other number is 466089-7 , if that means anything to you .
-
I have a pair of R33N1 turbos for sale . I had these in my old R33 ( burgandy GTR33R for those of you that knew the car) She ran 11.7 @121 mph @WSID . The only other mods, full exhaust ( stock dumps) power f/c and boost controller ( 1.2 bar ) . I have sold the car and i was going to install the turbos in my 34 but i used GTSS' instead . The turbos were rebuilt by Garrett before i put them on the car and all up have done less than 10,000 km . I still have the receipt from Garrett for any interested parties and they are in perfect condition. SOLD

I would highly recommend BEL and Ben knows how to tune as well .
-
You can stuff it up in a 100ks ( if cant i will do it for you) and it can last you 200,000 k's .
-
The R34 GTR has a lot more power than the 206kw that Nissan says it has and the 300kw commie has a few kw less than the specs say too. Roy, you dont have to wait 9 months for parts for a GTR actualy you can have anuthing you need for them from your local Nissan dealer, they usualy are in stock and if they are not 1-2 weeks from japan .Generaly speaking Nissan parts are cheap if you compare them to Subaru . Of course you cant compare a 15yo 32 to a 2-4 yo sti or evo for realibility. As for power 02 sti and 04 sti are exacly the same and they have nothing on the old 32 in stock form, actualy the 32 is a little quicker but the stis will outbrake it very easy, they even stop better than the R34. If you are talking about a version 5 or version 6, 99 and 00 (old GC8 Jap spec cars) they are just as quick as the 32 R mainly because they are very light .
-
You are correct to say 206 kw is not much power but who said they have 206 kw in stock form ? If you think you can keep up with a GTR in your 190kw Falcon ( even the 260kw 5.4 V8, or 4.0ltXR6 turbo) or 194kw Grandeur you are totaly mistaken . Obviously you have never driven a GTR, but dont take my word for it, just go to WID on any wednesday night and you will see .

I have all 4 of them, p.m. me an offer.
-
They are located on the side of the front seatsbut unlike most cars they stick out ( looks like they were an afterthought ) and they are look ugly .
-
What link ?
-
You cantry but they are out of stock Nissan in japan dont have any right now .
-
You can check it here but about the same in Sydney , melbourne and adelaide, about 10cents per lt cheaper in brisbane . http://www.shell.com/home/PlainPageServlet...earch_0221.html
-
You cant do it , it will be to expensive and they also remove the balasts as well . If anyone has a car they want to comply and want to know how to keep their xenons p.m and i'll tell you . Not much i can do once they destroy them .
-
32 gtr hoses will fit the 33 gtr no problem.
-
You don't want a 32 crank , just get a 33 they better, the only difference is where the oil pump fits in. You cant get a new one Nissan have been out of stock for a while and used are hard to find and expect to pay over $600 .
-
It sounds like you have a healthy engine but your readings are low. Test it again when hot and wot with a good battery and all spark plugs out . You comp gauge maybe wrong too but more than likely the test wasn't done as it should. A leakdown test is a better indication of the condition of the engine .
-
I like to see the 34 gtr you are going to get for under $60k .They are more like $80 k for a 1/2 decent 99 model V-spec . But then again you can always buy something like this : 1999 Nissan Skyline GTR .. BARGAIN PRICE The following car is currently available through a supplier in Japan - the price is 2,470,000 yen FOB which works out to be around $41,100 landed AND complied including shipping, import duty, GST and our service fee (excluding tyres & normal registration costs) The initial payment should be around $28,600 for the FOB price, plus $1,000 for our service fee - other payments would not be due until after the vehicle arrives in Australia. Pictures and details of this car can be viewed online here , Ah and domnt worry about the k's when this comes up for sale for about $60k she will have 30k k's on the clock . Dont say i didnt warn you !!

I got my money on Mona beating you Adam, that stock turbo ( in her car ) is a beast !!!

Test Drove A Mazda Mps - Turbo Awd
wrxhoon replied to benl1981's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Dont take any notice of the retail price, the street price is $50k on the road for the leather trim car . Mazda are having trouble shifting them . I drove one when they first came out, they are not a bad car but the weight ( 1600+kg for the leather model) kills performance . The other thing i dont like its a fwd car for most of the time ..
