How many rexes have you beaten with your Excel or Civic ? Yes the liberty gt has more power and more torque than the rex but nowhere as quick , just like the gtt has the same power as a gtr but nowhere as quick . Liberty is a luxo rex is a racer thats the diff , i know you are going to bring the power to weight thing in but before you do the liberty weighs about the same a the sti with almost the same power and the sti is a good 2 seconds quicker .
-
Yes mate thats part if the reason that they are quick , (LOL some trucks run 25-30psi and dont forget it's a 2.0lt only) , stock rex V stock gtst , the rex smokes the gtst everywhere 0-100 and 1/4 mile and both cars stock the rex is on top on the circuit as well by a big margin and if it happens to be damp its the line that will end up on the wall , thats a fact . Whats more fun , thars personal choice of course they both can be fun in their own way , if you want the best of both buy a GTR , its only got 206 kw ( same as a gtt or supra + supra has heaps more torque ) and not a lot of torque either but it will smoke most cars on the road stock for stock . Then again for the price of a new gtr at around 6 million jpy you could buy 2 gtt's , 2 sti's or 2 evos or even an M3 bmw .

Yes it is because you will find they are all in the same spot . Every single rex has the brant in the same place so the thief will go straight to it . Even if you do your own install and put it a different place ( totaly strange ) all they have to do is follow the keypad wires to it , this is how i traced mine quickly . Chris Rogers , i wasn't going to tell people how to bypass it on this forum for obvious reasons . I have an easier way rather than cut wires and rejoin them much quicker than this . To me an alarm is totaly useless ( only good to stop joyriders ) , a consealed immobliser is much better and no sirens ( they can easely find cut and them ) or any kind of stickers to suggest you have one in there , let them find out for themselves , it takes a bit longer . I use trackers ( gps , not quiktrak , useles outside Sydney metro ) in all our cars and an immobilser that i make myself , very hard to find . I had a car with that in it a few years ago ( pre tracker days ) , the thieves broke in to it bypassed the alarm immobilser , cut the siren off and tossed it in the sea , pulled the dash out and tried to find my immobiliser ( there for at least 3-4 hours ) . When the couldn't start it the pushed it about 100 mts and kicked every panel including the roof . Links , brant do the job for joyriders ( they are stuppid ) and they rely on datadots ( every rex 02 on has them )for the rebirthers . Trackers heve their shortcomings as well ( i'm not about to tell you what ) but they are the best protection you can get and they are getting cheaper by the day .

I'm very serious , a stock rex , late model gc8 ( 99-00 ) and all current shape ( post bugeyes ) run 1 bar boost . Sti's run even more than 1 bar .
-
Stock rexes run 14 psi boost .
-
Very easy to bypass the brant system once you know where they install them . I'm not going to tell you in this forum how it can be done though . I have owned 3 wrx's ( still have 02 sti ) with them fitted as standard equipment . All 3 have given me hassles , i had 2 cars towed to subaru ( free under warranty ) to get them going again . Car 1 they replaced the whole unit and the keypad , car 2 just the module . The sti i have now gave me a problem but i could start it so i drove it to subaru , they just had to put a master code in and she was right again . A couple of months later she stopped again , well this time i just bypassed the keypad part of it , it took me about 20 minutes . In that time i had to find the module and work out how to bypass it as well , now that i know where the unit is and i know what to do i can do it in about 60 seconds . The thieves that know these systems ( and every wrx post 01 has it ) would be able to do it in the same time . When you install that alarm in a skyline , thieves would not know that the car has it in it but know where to look for an immobiliser unit so it will take them a little longer but not that much longer . If you want more security you can't go past a tracker , it will let you know straight away that someone has broken in your car and if you have some other immobiliser as well , especially a one of ( one that you make and its hidden ) it will give you plenty of time to catch the thieves . Even if they manage to start the car they won't know that you are tracking them and you can cut the engine on them at anytime .

I have owned several rexes stockers and not so stockers , have taken heaps to the strip and i know exacly what times they can do . I still have a 02 sti as well as a r34 gtr and have owned other skylines before including a 33 gtr . I can tell you that all rexes will beat r33 gtst's anywhere , they are quicker ( i dont care what has higher peak power ) and on the strip they are quicker by a good margin , but remember they must be both stockers totaly .
-
How come then a r34 gtt with same power as a gtr ( both have 206 kw ) and at least 100-150 kg weight advantage doesn't smoke the gtrs ? Or do you think that gtt's are quicker than gtrs ? There is more to how quick a car goes than just peak power . I can assure you a stock wrx will beat a stock r33 gts anytime , anyplace anywhere by a good margin , as long as both cars are totaly stock as they come from the factory .

Its all good with me , heading to wsid on wednesday , weather permiting to put bens tune to the test . What are you doing to it now ? What dyno are you taking it to ? I will put mine on the dyno as well but i only trust one Dyno and thats in south coast . I think Paul ( ozgtr02v) wants to put his 34 r on the same dyno so we can compare the 2 cars .

I never seen a stock rex do a 1.6 60 foot as a matter of fact very few hotted up manual rexes will do that and the ones that do 1.6 60 footers will do 11 sec 1/4 miles . A stock rex 99-00 model ( old shape 1250 kg ) will do 13.9 -14 flat 1/4 mile . A stock 01 ( bugeye , the slowest rex ) will do 14.2 1/4 mile with 1.9960 ft . 01 rexes weigh 1350 kg and 01 sti's 1430kg

Tell your mate to either back to boost off to under 1 bar or get rid of the stock ceramic turbos . Its only a matter of time before they let go and guess what the engine will be full of ceramic dust , a sand like material that will score the bore and may bent a valve or two . There is nothing wrong with the stock turbos and yea you can get plenty of power out of them . The reason people change them is the CERAMIC wheel s let go and damage the engine in most cases . I dont blame you for not understanding how it happens but believe me it DOES i have seen several engines go when they spit the turbos . The first thing i did on my 34 is replace the turbos with gtss's . The stock turbos are not much smaller and they spool up earlier but i can take the risk of destroying an almost new engine .

Nothing will stop the thief from ripping it out if the can find it , just like nothing will stop them from ripping the keypad immobiliser if they find it . As soon as someone opens the door of your car , it will call you and tell you " i have detected an intruder " and give some options . If they start the car it will tell you so , it will give you the location and you can shut the engine down on them as well . If you get carjacked give them the car with the keys and as soon as they go away you shut the engine on them . If you forget the lights on as soon as the battery drops voltage it will call you to tell you " low voltage " then when it drops more it will call you again to say " low votage on main battery switching to backup battery " If they deside to tow the car , even if they dont open any doors as soon as the car moves it will call you to tell you its moving , it will give you the direction its heading the location and the speed its traveling . As you can see it's pointless paying close to $1 k to get just an alarm fitted when you can have this for not that much more ! Ezitrak is about $12-1300 fitted in your car if you want to monitor it yourself .

I will be there too if weather is good .

The only impreza to compare with a gts ( 2.5 none turbo rb25de) would be a rs 2.5 impreza with a ej25 none turbo . The line will be marginaly quicker than the impreza in this case . Its silly to try to compare a wrx ( even an sti ) with gtr , there is no comparison there and the new car gtr price is double to that of an sti in japan . By the way i have both cars right now , a 02 sti and a r34 gtr so i speak with experiance . Sti is a good comparison with an evo and they are similar price as well .
