And they said it wasn't sturdy enough, yes I am burnt badly about this....

By heave bar I mean heave bar/chin up bar/pullup bar, 6 of one 1/2 a dozen of the other. To clarify what I call a heave is a overgrasp grip lowering all the way down and raising till my chest touches through bar. It wasn't mounted to a wall it was a free standing wooden job made with 150 x 150 post and a 150 x 30 bolted to the top, it was 600mm buried into the ground with 3 baffles of cement in each post hole. I was as solid as they come, I'll post a pick when I get home.

De-load on the 4th week. Option 1, 531, Normal, Boring but Big, Less Boring Monday: Mil Press, Bench, Chins Tuesday: Dead, Squat, Hang Leg Raise Thursday: Bench, Mil Press, Row Friday: Squat, Dead, Leg Curl. Will go with the periodization bible when this cycle is over in about 5 months if I feel I need to mix it up a bit. The time savings are from not doing pretty boy exercises and only focusing on compound exercises, the only machine I use is the Leg Curl thing. I have just finished reading Starting Strength, good read and very motivational. On a side note: The WHS Nazi's at work decided that the heave beam we have is a safety hazard because you might fall if you let go!!!!!, I kid you not, they then made us get a Skid Steer Loader and rip it down, WHS has got people so scared of any risk that they are now making up stupid shit.

De-load week is weird, I know it is good for me but not lifting heavy seems weird. Looking forward to month 2 of my new program. I'm actually really enjoying the program, never more than about 45 minutes in the gym and my strength gains are going better than before when I was spending more than 1 hr in the gym. I am a big fan of 5 3 1 Doing it right pays off, funny that.

I haven't found any donor vents yet that I'm happy with, I will look around some wreckers again on Sat and hope for some luck and or inspiration. -

After nearly being rear ended whilst sitting at traffic lights I took a idea that my mate did to his car, I fitted a flasher unit to my boot lid brake light. Hopefully a flashing red light might catch the eye of the next idiot who isn't paying attention when driving. -
As for recording video, I feel it is only acceptable if the recording is for the person bring recorded. I think it is a excellent tool for critiqueing your form. Other people recording strangers is slightly gay or taking the piss IMO.

I'm selling this on eBay if anyone is interested, I have access to the gyms at work so it never really gets used. 135kg, 1 x 20kg Oly bar, 4 x 20kg, 2x 10kg, 2 x 5kg, 2X 2.5kg. Good for a beginner doing squats, deads, bench, row, OHP, cleans and stuff. Keep a eye out and you may pick it up for $250.99 if no one bids. In keeping with the forum rules I cannot post a link.

My sister was a clean eater, lots of veggie stuff, she looked after her fitness, hardly ever had a drink and never smoked. She ended up riddled with cancer at 45 and died at 50. I eat lots of protein and other stuff, smoke and drink, I've been covered in asbestos, gassed by chlorine, covered in chemicals of all sorts and wash my hands in petrol or degreaser to clean them. I'm 49 and going strong. Its all a roll of the dice, sure things may speed up your demise but I have known a lot of my old relatives that have eaten lots of fats, sugar, salt, smoked and drank a lot and have lived to their 80's. I have also seen a lot of people who look after themselves die young. Anyway, right now I'm going to have a smoke while I finish my beer, then cook me some steak, eggs and rice. On a side note, my daughter found out how much money she would get if I died, I best be watching my back from now on

http://blackironbeast.com has a good calculator for 5/3/1. I have started the boring but big program 4 day, very similar to the program I was doing but all the % and sets are done for you. I will roll with this for the full cycle (about 9 months worth) from now and see how it goes, 2 days in so far. I like it as it seems its a "get strong for dummies" type of thing, which suits me down to a tee.

Thanks for the links. The main problem is there is nowhere for the air to exit, most (all) cars have some form of venting built into them, alas the MX5 is designed like a parachute when fitted with a hard top, I will get some MX5 dash vents from the wreckers and install them at the rear of the parcel shelf, I will then duct it out the back and have it exit on the passenger side utilising the little tool bin thingy in the boot. Im guestimating that it is a low pressure area so air should be sucked out whilst driving. 2 each of these bits, just need a hole saw to suit and some balls to do it. Installed where I drew the boobies. -

I'll give them a cut and polish in a week or two. -
Deads are coming along again after a deload, only warm up weight for some but on my last 2 sets today I managed 5 x 150kg then 3 X 160kg, I should have only gone to 155kg and will drop my last set to 155kg next time. I did manage a good 270kg from the top of the knee to lock out on my last set of 5 x 1 of them though, started at 250kg and went up by 5, I did make some noise though. I am going to rotate between 3 x 8 deficit and 5 x 1 knee height to try and keep it slowly going up.

Chris, can you drop the link in here or PM me it, I didn't get to check my emails at work today, I'm financial now with SSCC but need the link to who ever is running it so I can pay my $175 before the 23rd and get all the bonus stuff. Love you long time. -

Also, I'm a big fan of the hard top, its so much quieter now, and security is x 100, plus I think it looks 100 x better, only issue is airflow but I've been brain storming and I think I can get it sorted with a couple of vents like on the dash fitted to the top section of the rear parcel shelf and some ducting pipe, if I had a bigger budget I would look for a MX5 coupe. Bring on Lotto. And everyone can stop looking now because I found my 10mm spanner, it was in the kitchen...........................next to the rum................... -

Use about 100 ml of vinegar, pour it into 1 litre of hot (50 to 70 deg water) then wipe it onto the windows with a cloth (micro fibre works best). Should keep the windows fog free for a week or two. If it don't work use a bit more vinegar. Clean the window good first. I got this from Googling and it worked a treat when the old Skylines aircon wasn't working. Fitted the rear tow hook today, its not optimum but as long as the recovery angle is less than about 30deg it should be fine and no panel damage will ensue. Stupid work has been stupid, I've been to busy to renew some membership and CAMS stuff, will attempt to get this done over the next day or two, I actually now have a fixed time line, sweet. All I need to do is get some new brake pads, get the discs skimmed and find a oil cooler and filter relocate kit over the next month and I think I will be happy enough to track it, after another full service of course. I am still hunting the local auctions for a stupid cheap Series 2 NB write off to rape for parts and stuff, you never know when you need a new engine, gear box, brakes, panels other assorted consumable stuff. LOL. -

Removed the tie down points on the front and installed a tow hook, I need to get some longish bolts to install the rear tow hook so its off to Bunnings tomorrow. The tow hooks looks slightly more hectic than I hoped but meh, they were cheap.. Also tightened down the hard top where the Frankenstein bolts are, yay, no more rattling on rough (Sydney) roads, only problem was that the screw that locks the top of the mount was seized and I needed to drill them out to get to the bolts that let you adjust it, all good now though. Also cleaned out 11ty gazillion leaves from the inner guards, no rust though so I'm happy. The new boss kit arrived but I'm still waiting on the wheel to turn up. Note to self: By some vinegar to make some anti fog stuff for the windows. -

Thanks mate, hopefully it will be less of a headache than the Skyline. 1) a lot of the modified cars were infairly poor condition, and the good ones cost more, plus this was cheap which allowed me to upgrade with new parts and not pay for old aftermarket stuff. 2) price 3) don't know about either being a better platform than the other but the Honda costs a bucket more. -

It can be, I didn't bother as I will only be doing sprints and will not be getting log booked anyway and it will stay road rego'ed, but the added benefit of the MX5 Plus one is it legal for a road rego'ed car in Queensland as their rules and regs state that the cage/roll bar cannot use the standard seat belt mounting points to bolt down the roll bar if you still want to use the standard 3 point in its original position, where as some of the other styles do, NSW doesn't have these rules and regs though (yet), but at least if I end up in Queensland on a trip or for work it will be compliant.. It even has a nice little plaque with a part number and serial number which states its compliance which matches the serial number stamped on the bar itself. It also comes with sticker with "don't drill or weld" and also states that "Should this ROPS be involved in an accident or roll over, the registered owner should have it inspected immediately", LOL, I'm sure getting it inspected will be my main priority if it ends up on its roof.......
