1. Not a chance, the time lost during shifts would win or lose a race, I'll bet you a beer, and I take beer bets very seriously.
2. I wish my Skyline was a calais turbo, it would be worth more, I predict they will rise in price even more whereas my skyline is deprecating like a lead ballon. I've even been looking for a clean cheap one to do up. Some one sell me one, cash, I doesn't even need a motor.
3. Big rims that don't fit are not cheap or a bargain, get smaller rims with a good offset and put some good tyres on them, I wouldn't go bigger than 18". Have you priced replacement tyres for the 20", you should be able to get quality 17" or 18" tyres for the same price as rubbish 20".
4. I stand corrected, their between 1250 and 1350 kg.
5. I think that's why they are good for drags straight out of the box though, the soft wallowing suspension aids in the rear squatting and the front lifting, whereas the Skylines with there sporty suspension is a bit to firm for hooking up. Although the VL does handle a bit more like the Queen Mary when going around corners. I think, LOL.
6. Isn't the VLs weight 1100 kg, not so fat as my boat at the Wakie weighbridge was 1450ish if I can remember correctly.
7. But how much more power does a GTR need to compensate for the extra weight of the 4WD system. My 300ish killer wasp T was keeping up with, and beating a few 300ish killerwasp Rs, needless to say they were not doing 8k launches, and last time I was at the drags a old VL was smashing everything with its old RWD system. It's not as simple as "It's a GTR man" Let's settle this at the next SAUNSW drag day, I'll race for icecreams and coffees, I'll be in my RWDFTW boat, I'll race any simular powered GTR on the day.
8. It takes 30 seconds to remove/clean/reinstall, small amout of preventitive maintanance, I usually do it when I check my fluid levels, come on guys, its simple maintanance, people spend more time wiping of spilled coolant from when they check fluid levels. Or dont get one which will result all the crap that comes out, which is alot, getting stuck in the radiator and other areas of your cooling system.
9. For performance get a good panel filter and CAI, for hecktic awesome defects get a pod, if you get a pod and box/cover ensure you still use a CAI or you will lose any benefits because air to the intake will take the path of least resistance which will he hot air from the engine getting in around the cover. Only reason I have a pod/cover/CAI is due to intake mods that make nothing else fit.
10. It came out of a R33 GTST
11. $60.00 or if your a SAUNSW member a 6 pack of XXXX, it pays to belong. Good nick, was spray painted matte black but the finish is now crappy, worked well to 300 kw on a 25/30. pick up only.
12. I like 10 min sessions, not to hard on the cars and not to long between sessions, street tyres would have started to go off by then anyway and semis are good in a lap or 2 from my limited experience , but then I like supersprints which only sees hot 3 laps, much easier on the car.
13. Doesnt the two stage pump thingie stop the fuel from getting to hot by slowing the flow at a certain RPM, colder fuel helps cool the cylinder?? I think??? Mine pumps more from 2k if my ear is calibrated with my brain, but then thats a big ask.
14. I got these from my cousin, can do you a good deal, bra
15. Hook up the intercooler, oh wait.....
16. I did a 12.3 in a full weight 25/30 GTST 5 spd, 350 killerwasps, GTR diff, 245/45 17 Dunlop Direzzas, Bilsteins and kings, I had about 30 goes at trying to better it at the SAUNSW drag day, terminal speed was 123 mph, 60 foot was 2.? seconds which was crap but the tyres just kept bagging up, if you got some good drag radials and stock shockers you will most likely get a better 60 ft time, BUT, in all honesty, you may be dreaming. 10.99 is along way away from 12.3, Im hoping for 11.9 next time but I will be using drag radials.
17. http://www.derek.com.au/tefbafilter.html Buy this
18. Use engine flush with the heater on full heat (this will flush out the heater core), drain radiator, refill radiator with water, let it idle awhile again with the heater on full, shut down and let cool, remove radiator, put in new radiator, fill with coolant, fill overflow with new coolant, let it idle up to temp with the radiator cap off and the heater on full heat (leaving the cap off will assist in removing air from the system), top up as required, after 5 minutes put the cap on and Bobs your uncle.

Check again when cold.

19. Just use a paint pen, then you can name then whatever hecktic tyre brand that all the kids are using on any particular day, extra street credibility would be guaranteed. You could also use a paint pen matching your valour interior, bro........
20. Same story here, I've pulled out my engineering cert once, all they went to know is how fast the car goes and how much power it makes, but then I'm 46, drive the speed limit and consider myself a courteous driver.
21. [quote name=ianjb' timestamp='1324329864' You had valid arguments until you said this. Making accusations of corruption is not just wrong, it is illegal and slander.[/size] It's a proven fact; Read a news paper and you will find all the information, back handers from construction company's, churches, schools and houses built without planning approvals, its common knowledge, although Rockdale council is up there for being dodgey as well.
