  1. The use of flame throwers to hold back other competitors was not sanctioned at this event,,LOL.
  2. If traveling in a 70 kph zone and you come across a school zone with the length of 1km, the added time to your trip would be 39 seconds, not many school zones that long really, most between 300 to 500 mtrs around here thus only adding 20 seconds to the trip. To add 15 minutes to a trip you would need to pass 23 schools each having a reduced zone distance of 1klm. Just though I would add some prospective as I was having this discussion with a friend last night who thought the 3 school zones were adding 15 minutes to his trip, we calculated the data and even did a live run, results were slightly different due to other traffic and the distance used to slow down to achieve the speed limit prior to reaching the sign. I apologize for offending and I should have stated my case differently, to me this is common sense and following road law, I admit that I sit a road law test at least once a year and am extremely anal about road safety.
  3. It's just there have always been full time school zones, the signs are different to reflect this, just because its school holidays doesn't mean there isn't kids attending schools, have a look at your traffic authority web site and it explains it all there, the full time ones are marked differently, its also up to the licence holder to keep up to date with all relevant changes to the road laws, you agree to do this when you first get your licence. From memory there are 4 different class signs for school zones, there is legislation going on at the moment to have all school zones 40kph full time to account for after school classes, meetings and other after hour meetings and remove the confusion off changing speed limits during the course of the day. Me I cannot see a issue with it and as a side note if you are going to put speed cameras anywhere, school zones is where they should go.
  4. He is a regular at every event I've been to at Wakie, nice guy earning some beer money.
  5. Max you really have a lot of issues with obeying the law. How about doing some research on why they continue to enforce the limits instead of posting up about how unfair the world is. And FFS how hard is it to do the posted speed limits for a certain area, you were born with eyes were you not, how about engaging your brain and your eyes into gear before you hammer the load pedal.
  6. You will get your photos mate, I've used him on a few occasions, give it a week at the most.
  7. Thanks for the day guys, another interesting day for me, lots of nice cars and people as usual, Looks like my semis survived another track day too, on the bright side I don't think a set of tyres has lasted so many trackdays. Till next time. Mark "my car is a boat, the Exxon Valdez to be precise" Robinson.
  8. As wide as you can afford the best quality tyres that fit them, how much power you got, only street, street and track? Im running 245/45 17 dunlops on R34 GTT rims 7.5" on my boat for daily use, good tyres are a must, my 245 Dunlop Direzza Z1s out grip, out brake and out handle my old Nankang 265s by a mile, its also in the offset for fitment, my track rims are 9" wide with a 265 Dunlop Semi, they need at least 3 deg neg on the front and 2 deg neg on the rear to keep within the guards, which is fine for Semislicks at the track but would scrub out the inside of your tyres on the street.
  9. Dave you has PM, re fatz spot.
  10. Time to give the Dunlop Direzzas a spin around the track me be thinking.
  11. I would be hitting a county rd during the day, I was also told to do 6 x 100 to slow stops, then let them cool fully to bed them in, it worked fine on my a1rm, should take no more than 3 minutes to do.
  12. Its the only aspect available in the 245 16" sizes available AFAIK. 16 " tyres have no love anymore, I was looking at getting some R32 GTR rims until I realised that you have a very limited amount of choice, still if you got a quality tyre the side walls should be stiff enough, not good for circuit work but good for a daily and good for drags. Motorsport > http://www.tirerack....=45&diameter=16 The VictoRacer V700 are a nice tyre and a nice price for a sticky 16" semi.
  13. A advertised night cruise through Nasho for a blend of modified cars at Christmas is asking for attention, thanks for the heads up, Ill keep well away from there.
  14. 40" are twice as hecktic as 20"
  15. Faulty isolation switch, my glass is now half full.
  16. I had family stuff on but that has been moved to Sunday now, also the boat has electrical gremlins now, stalled whilst driving and now it wont start, I used up all of limited knowledge in diagnosing the fault to no avail, its going to UNIGROUP on the flat bed tomorrow, if they can fix it tomorrow and I can get to Wholesale Suspension before the weekend to replace some bushes in rear cradle, and if there is any spots available I may have a run. At this stage the glass is half empty.
  17. If UNIGROUP can make my car not broken I'll attempt to roll on down and cheer you all on.
  18. Here's another 12 in 245/50 16 http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearchResults.jsp?skipOver=true&width=245%2F&ratio=50&diameter=16

  20. Firestone do a Wide Oval Indie in 245/50 16 I think...
  21. I had one which ran 15 lb for 2 years with about 6 trackday thrown at it, only reason it was swapped out for a TO4Z was it wouldn't run anymore than 18lb, it was still good when it came out and its now sitting in a parts bin at UNIGROUP. It was making 260ish during this time on a 25. Some are good, some are not I suppose.
  22. Cosmetics sell cars, it doesn't have to function or even work well, if it looks fast people will buy it, Nissan are smart, just like a lot of the aftermarket suppliers. And I have been speaking from experience, have a look under the bonnet of a WRX, the alloy corrosion, the moisture getting in the electrical joints, its a PITA, but feel free to disregard this as it seems you want one, if you don't take it out when its raining you will be fine, it would be good for letting out heat when your stopped in traffic though.
  23. I think the regs say you need hella flush 20" chromies and dose, also neons are mandatory. Mine is nearly finished, its actually booked in next week to have the neons fitted and tuned, they should give me about 100 extra killerwasps at the sub woofer.
  24. These things are awsomeness, nothing better than seeing how fast you are going through turn one, or when you go through the trap at the drags, I payed $700 for a 320k NISMO dash a few years ago, this is a bargain. LOL, I'll never get to 320k. Bump
