  2. Have a look around locally then have a look at importing your own, I've used www.tirerack.com in the states, for under $1000 you can have delivered to your door tyres which if purchased in Australia would cost nearly twice as much. My last lot were Dunlop Direzza 245/45 17 which cost me $145 a tyre( $450 each here) or $930 for 4 delivered to my door, I'm in the process of getting some more tyres at the moment, I'm looking at Hankook RS 3 (?)$120 a tyre at the moment, worth $310 here, even with the $350 delivery and fitting costs I save about $300. Shipping takes about 5 days. The only people who will tell you importing you own tyres is a bad idea are Australian tyre distributors for some reason. Shop smart.
  3. It will definitely hold you in place so you don't move around but that isn't what a harness is designed for, the seat holds you in place, the harness stops you from being thrown around in the event of a accident.
  4. 3 point harness hence no nut strap, only correct way IMO would be to install a harness bar, you can use the bolt on the seat belt slide thing on the right side but you will need to drill a hole in the floor on the left side and use a backing plate. Look at a few cars that have rolled over, its the top of the seat that stops it from going any further down, if you cannot move out the way its going to be your head that stops it. Do a risk assessment on it and see what you come up with. Mark " safety devices that are installed without thought will be just another risk "
  5. I paid for the last event but couldn't get there due to my car being the devil, I paid full price for entry, I'm not asking for my money back, BUT, seeing though I've never been to a Texi as yet and competed in a car can I pay the first timer price, please. If the car holds together at Eastern Creek this Sunday I'm 100% sure that its a 75% chance of me being there rain hail or shine.
  6. I had a problem with the charger I got, " apparently " there's different current amp things ? Speak to a battery joint for some pro advice. I'm looking at getting a new trickle charger with the connections wired in full time for easy access and safety.
  7. Use the search function, there are lots of ways to do it but most of them are wrong. You don't want a harness if you don't have a roll cage either, if you roll the far the harness will hold you upright and your head will act as a roll cage, but with your head made from meat and bone you will be dead.
  8. I thought you were talking about me.
  9. I used champix, twice, first time I didn't finish the whole course, second time I did, still want to smoke, I've had a few over the last year, smoking is the devil. Smoking is for mugs, for your money and health all you get in return is smelling like arse, no lung function and numerous diseases, its a addictive drug just like heroin. I haven't had a ciggy for months but even now talking about it I feel like one. Smoking isn't the devil, its the grim reaper. Drugs are bad OK
  10. Question, will the tyre rule be used to divide the classes, ie if I run Dunlop direzzas ill be in street but if I run Khumo V700 I'll be in club ? Regs just say no full slicks if I'm remembering right. Thanks 1week to go, might have to clean the car.
  11. Yes
  12. It's all about how much bang you want for your buck.
  13. Bloody Emo,s better keep out of the way of my RWD boat, the driver assist options might get all emotional and drop their show bags mid corner when the fat heavy RWDFTW boat is all over them. LOL.
  14. Fat heavy slow slugs. You want power to weight, also remember that a 10k GT will be worth 5k in 5yrs when you try and sell it. DONOT do any mods on a NA Skyline, waste of money really, if you want one then keep it stock and save your money instead of wasting it on meager increases in power for a large out lay. If you want a GTR save for one and don't waste your money. MX 5 would be another good choice, quick and nimble, and chicks like them so its a win win really, but get a hard top.
  15. RWDFTW, 4WD is for the cheats. ; )
  16. http://carsales.mobi/cars/details/?R=11419741&Cr=2&trecs=9 It's got a few Ks on it but if its been serviced it should alright. I would rather this over a GT hands down.
  17. Do this, be smart now and you will have a better car later, or, buy a GT now which you will lose money on, there are some quick little P plate friendly cars you can get for under 5 k, you don't need a lot of power, a GT doesnt have any Power anyway, to fat and underpowered, better of with a lighter shorter wheel base car you can learn to drive in at motorkhanas and stuff which will not break the bank. A NA S13 would be good IMO.
  18. Excellent, I had a p plater riding my bumper a while ago, The boat handles quite well now so when I hit the 25kph corner at speed with him still on my arse he ended up in the side drain. I returned to see if he was OK which he was but his front left wheel was bent under the car. Lots of LOLS. Good times indeed.
  19. Fabrication looks OK the physics side may need some work, don't worry about the idiots and their ha ha posts, the only thing they work on is their own dicks. Search for some more engine bay photos and threads on oil control. Keep it up.
  20. I'll have a sausage sandwich, do you have onions as well ?
  21. It's not black and white yet, It's only a recommendation, its an idea which needs working out, people just hear a bit of information and run off with "o noes, the government is the devil" without looking at any facts. Classic forum knee jerk mentality. The world ends next year anyway, so I cannot see the point in worrying about new road laws. VIVA LA PARANOIA
  22. So in saying that then how would you feel if the curfew didn't count anyone who had done advanced driver training courses, thus it would be a reward for those people who are willing to put in the extra effort. But if said person was found speeding or breaking other road laws the curfew would reapply to them and they would also receive heavy fines and loss of licence. I would support that.
