  1. PHYSICS, letting your exhaust flow will reduce backpressure thus letting your turbo spool more freely. More boost=you need a smaller gap on your plugs, if its coughing at high rpm try reducing the gap to .9 and see if that helps, maybe you need more fuel ?, take it to a tuner and check it out, its the only safe way.
  2. So running high boost is living in the past now, well let's see how my new old style TO4Z goes with 25+psi rammed down its guts, I think I'm going to enjoy living in the past. On topic, my old stock turbo ran at 14lb for 12months, when it was pulled off (pulled off he he) it was fine, just luck or regular servicing ? Maybe a bit of both, I was expecting it to blow so I upgraded to a China spec, it was good for a while but hit its limit of around 300, now I'm getting a T series which should keep me happy once some lbs has been thrown at it.
  3. Dont get to wrapped around the axles with tread wear ratings, the manufacturer does its own testing and write what they want really, also old stock will be dried up and hard, check date of manufacture. I wouldnt buy tyres from Australia anymore when I can get tyres for $160 in the US that cost $450 here, and even with $350 delivery fee it still cost less, $990 as opposed to $1800. Until I can get them for the same price my money goes to helping the US economy. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearchResults.jsp?skipOver=true&width=265%2F&ratio=40&diameter=18
  4. A1RM,s, they do get a bit noisy when on the street but after a bit of work are good to go and quite again for a couple of hundred K,s on the street. With DBA 4000 rotors they have been faultless, albeit I only do springs.
  5. Save your money, buying from a yard you will be paying top dollar for a average car, also interest will add 30% to the price, and then you will need full insurance, factor in a grand or two for that if you can get it due to your age or mods on the car. If you buy privately you may be able to buy a better car for less money, its a buyers market. Don't buy a rolling defect with a body kit and 20" rims, buy a neat car with sensible mod,s, its better to have a car that looks stock but goes, stops and handles than a car that looks like its from FnF but gets blown at the lights by someones mum in their Camery.
  6. I have one. No I don't,I have a 044, I'm such a liar.
  7. WTF, no long sleeve Super Lap t shirts. On a positive note, Awesome turn out, lots of shiny bits in the stalls and lots of nice people. Also the double choc with nuts ice creams me and my daughter had were sweeeeet.
  8. Tire rack dot com, here I come again.
  9. "Kinky Sex Makes The World Go 'Round" Greetings:This is the Secretary of War at the State Department of the United States We have a problem. The companies want something done about this sluggish world economic situation Profits have been running a little thin lately and we need to stimulate some growth Now we know there's an alarmingly high number of young people roaming around in your country with nothing to do but stir up trouble for the police and damage private property. It doesn't look like they'll ever get a job It's about time we did something constructive with these people We've got thousands of 'em here too. They're crawling all over The companies think it's time we all sit down, have a serious get-together- And start another war The President? He loves the idea! All those missiles streaming overhead to and fro Napalm People running down the road, skin on fire The Soviets seem up for it: The Kremlin's been itching for the real thing for years. Hell, Afghanistan's no fun So whadya say? We don't even have to win this war. We just want to cut down on some of this excess population Now look. Just start up a draft; draft as many of those people as you can. We'll call up every last youngster we can get our hands on, hand 'em some speed, give 'em an hour or two to learn how to use an automatic rifle and send 'em on their way Libya? El Salvador? How 'bout Northern Ireland? Or a "moderately repressive regime" in South America? We'll just cook up a good Soviet threat story in the Middle East-we need that oil We had Libya all ready to go and Colonel Khadafy's hit squad didn't even show up. I tell ya That man is unreliable. The Kremlin had their fingers on the button just like we did for that one Now just think for a minute-We can make this war so big-so BIG The more people we kill in this war, the more the economy will prosper We can get rid of practically everybody on your dole queue if we plan this right. Take every loafer on welfare right off our computer rolls Now don't worry about demonstrations-just pump up your drug supply. So many people have hooked themselves on heroin and amphetamines since we took over, it's just like Vietnam. We had everybody so busy with LSD they never got too strong. Kept the war functioning just fine It's easy. We've got our college kids so interested in beer they don't even care if we start manufacturing germ bombs again. Put a nuclear stockpile in their back yard, they wouldn't even know what it looked like So how 'bout it? Look-War is money. The arms manufacturers tell me unless we get our bomb factories up to full production the whole economy is going to collapse The Soviets are in the same boat. We all agree the time has come for the big one, so whadya say?!? That's excellent. We knew you'd agree The companies will be very pleased.
  10. If it was original it would be worth more than a run of the mill R33 GTR. If it is with the guards and doors and stuff, FFS someone go look at it and give us some feed back. Or bring it to Sydney and I might buy it. http://j-spec.com.au/featured/1998-Nissan-Skyline-GTR_sedan_Autech_40th_Anniversary-15503.html
  11. Slightly more road noise than I would have thought for a hi po road tyre, but grip in wet and dry so far is excellent, well worth the slight raise in road noise, lucky the 044 no rear seat and induction noise drowns it out. Will be getting some 265/40 17 for my track day rims for sure, I just need the car working properly so my old Dunlop DO1Js finally wear out.
  12. The CONTACT US link on rehearing site, www.tirerack.com
  13. Just read up on it, no more left and right hand discs, and more off gassing apparently. Easy on the machining as they dont need to tool up for 2 different sides so they save money on manufacturing, will we see it at the shop, I doubt it. Extra off gassing is good if its needed I suppose. Yes, new things scare me......................
  14. They changed the style a while ago Ive been told, old style had the wipper slot going to the edge of the disk where as the newer ones didnt, like mine. Are these new ones more efficient at removing built up gasses? Whats the price difference, are these replacing the DBA 4000 or are they just another line.
  15. Or diabetes, as I to partook in the large quantitys of sugar and caffeine, felt sick later on as I normally don't drink fizzy drinks, unless of course there is alcohol in it. I'll be there at some stage on Friday to as leave has been approved, a large bag will be needed for all the t-shirts and stickers. And fizzy drinks.
  16. It's up to the quak reading the scan, I went front one saying there may be a small one on the left, then after a month and with a new scan and doc I was booked into hospital for a bilingual hernia operation. Happy endings are for the win, BUT, all I meant was doing it yourself, the massage that is not the happy ending.
  17. 2 weeks of rest, if you've torn it, 3 months if its a hernia. There is some good yoga for your abdo you can still do but avoid stretching to far or putting to much strain on it, also local massage can help.
  18. Usually there is a first timers lap at the beginning of the day where a experienced driver will show you the braking points and lines, my first day was with SAU at MDTS, from there I did days at Oran Park, Wakefield and Eastern Creek, Im loving it, though I should have focused on learning the stock car first and then upgraded the brakes suspension and kept the power upgrading till later, but no as I'm stupid and now have a overpowered car with a underskilled driver. And yes its stupid fun. My mantra is," All The gear with no idea"
  19. Have a look at oil control in the frequently asked questions in the forced induction thread.
  20. LOl, yes my Arsehole does smell better than your breath, thanks for asking.
  21. ??, why the stupid comments, if you don't want to buy it don't post sh it, looks like a Ok tow car at a Ok price. Good luck with the sale
  22. I 100% agree with keeping it regoed, the money wasted on the rego makes up for the dick around getting it re regoed, also you have no insurance when it isnt regoed. regoed regoed regoed
