  1. For the money it costs for a tune the pre-check should be done for free as it only takes about 15 min to do the fluids and have a visual inspection, my tuner always checks it before it goes on the dyno. Thats why i go back to him, and in this day and age where customer care is a dying animal i will take my car to someone who is willing to look after me as well as insuring that my car is safe to get tuned without trying to suck every extra dollar he can from me. MLR
  2. mic0r, I like to do the Bunndeena detour, dont know the actual route we are taking though. MLR.
  3. Will this be from KK up Heathcoate, L onto Hwy, R into park then roll to Bald Hill(sydway pg 432 f 17) for coffee and icecream or push on thurther into Stanwell Park and stop near the kiosk(pg 432 c 19) . I missed getting my pie last cruise and had to suffice with only a icecream .
  4. Been investigating head work and polishing the ports is bad due to the fact the air sticks to the smooth surface creating drag whereas a rougher surface creates a thing (cannot think of the correct word) that lets the air flow more freely. Like the rough skin of a shark helps it go through the water without creating much drag. Was told to leave the ports with the machine marks or shoot peen them with glass beads to get the disired effect.
  5. Looked sweet on the highway just after the stop at the servo, after that it was like a carton of beer, one by one they went missing, LOL.
  6. Aggroman, was it the sub or me that got everybody lost.
  7. mic0r, The nasho run is bumpy but fun if you can avoid slow traffic or slow down and leave a good gap between you and them so you can enter the corners at a good speed, its not to bad but have you done the Putty RD or the Bell Line because if you liked the nasho you will love those runs, just be sure to stick to the speed limit as the police love them too, and make sure you know where you can get PULP as not all servos have got it. Safety tip; Watch the corners because sometimes cars and bikes venture into your lane, mainly the 25 and 35kph signposted corners.
  8. When i was a kid i went to the local tip at peakhurst and built a bike with the help of my cousins, all we took was a pump a small shifter and a puncture repair kit. AAAHHHH REMINISING
  9. Id like the car to rev up from idle to making boost quicker, didnt get a torque reading last tune so i dont know what its got, getting the crank knife edged and the other bits and peices balanced should help ive been told, not sure if i want a lightened flywheel at present. Thanks MLR
  10. Ive heard it on good authority that they are all terrorists down there.
  11. I knew i was in trouble when I couldnt see anyone infront of me , Had a good day though, it was nice at the beach where all the lost boys ended up, got stuck behind some slow traffic in the nasho coming home but still managed a bit of fun, looking forward to the next cruise but maybe next time a destination and some halt spots along the way orginised prior to the day would be sweet as some of us got caught behind traffic and lost the leading packet, all in all good day. Thanks. PS, Im willing to help do a route card if anyone is interested in it, i do them at work for our road moves.
  12. Sounds good, they will have ARP stud bolts installed. Thanks, MLR
  13. Id like over 300atw reving to 8k. Thanks, MLR
  14. One of my quotes for a engine rebuild has the std 25 rods being shot peened and another has forged items, Being a cheap arse i like the idea of the shot peening, but whats the difference, I watched a show on TV the other day and they were shot peening std rods for a Chevy motor. Could someone please explain as one shop says they will be fine whilst another says they wont. Thanks. MLR
  15. I dont want more stroke, I dont want a 30, I dont want a 26, I dont want to change my bolt ons. Im keeping my 25 bottom end. I wanted to know if there were other thing i could do with what ive got to get more torque when i get it rebuilt. Thanks to the 1 or 2 people who gave me some usefull info, you know who you are. Sorry if I sound harsh.
  16. Was going to go for a drive on sunday anyway and if there is a blood donation happening i might get a putty drive + donate blood for some good karma points. Will keep my eye on this post. That is if its ok for a stinking sydney sider to venture up there.lol.
  17. I would break your 18 hrs down to 4 x 4.5 hr sessions over 2 days and staying at a nice motel at the halfway point, take my camera, my missus and cruise. But then I sometimes drive old R Series Mack Trucks with a 20 ton trailers loaded with stores or Plant Equipment to and from the Cape which takes about 6 days doing about 90kph, now that is boring, sitting behind the wheel of my car and just cruising, stopping for photos and enjoying the scenery is what i enjoy. ROAD TRIPS ROCK
  18. Drive your bloody cars guys, thats what there for, fuel shouldnt be a issue as it is cheap, i am amased at the amount of cars that get trailered, most for no reason. Take your time and hit the back roads and you may even have some fun if your not carefull. Unless of course its a race car or youve built a trailer queen show car, or your idea of a long drive is to do blockies at the mall. Drive your cars
  19. To go the 30 would mean more $ for modding, ic piping, exhaust and dump, oil pump, waterpump, plus more machining costs. The only thing cheaper was the piston cost. If i was just looking for big numbers the 30 would be the go but im not.
  20. Sorry to hear. Did you get photos of the sand on the road as this may help if they try to get you for neg driving, i dropped my bike once at a round about because of a diesel spill, the bike slid and hit a car, cops were called, i got booked for neg driving, cop said it was speed and dangerous driving even though he wasn't there when it happened, the guy i hit was cool and took lots of photos at the scene and also wrote a statement stating what he saw, went to court and got fine dropped because you could clearly see the dieso on the road. Might even help keep your no claim bonus as the fault was not really yours as others instigated the accident. I now always have a camera in my car.
  21. Its a cool old skool punk band. Or some old rebel group from somewhere.
  22. Im on a buget of $10,000 for motor, gear box reco and enginnering the whole car and im not after huge power, Just more than ive got now, The 25 will give me a easy 300+ which ill be happy with as this is also my daily hack. Im going to go oversize pistons, clean + balance the rotating assembely, head work + valve springs + oil mods + std cams, exh gear and then run it at about 20 psi and see where i get. Getting Quotes now. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ And for all you 30 fans im getting that quoted to.
