  1. Nah If I did kill the 4l60e I would just replace it with a built T400 For what I want out of the Dunnydoor, a DCT would be more trouble than what it's worth #slushboxlife
  2. What? Speak up! 1 7/8" to 3" flange Flange...LOL
  3. Booked car in to swap out my 2.5" Y pipe and 3.5" single for a 3" Y pipe and 4" single because........noise I'm justifying it to my myself because rule of thumb math has it not being a restriction under 650 hp at the fly So I would be irresponsible not to do it
  4. I drive the VX like it was meant to be driven, it's is a big fat boat for eating miles, which was never designed to go fast around a corner The whole point of it is to be a cruiser, that will go fast, in a straight line, not a track car or even playing touge with the kids My driving style is typically cruising in the left lane with the radio on loving life, only with the occasional roll on, or trip to the drags for some fun As for daily driving with drag radials, on my old R33 I ran R32 GTR 16" Rims with 255/50 16 MT SS drag radials on the rear alot around town, they were fine in the dry as long as you ran at least 35 psi in them, again, not playing touge or race car driver on the street, just cruising around and rolling it on Memories
  5. Haven't had the RaceTCS hooked up yet, it has been sitting at Autotech because Spiro wanted to do some research first as he hasn't used one yet, apparently he contacted a mate from Haltech, who knows of the RaceTCS and actually rates it It will probably go in to get fitted in a few months time And whilst it's good for traction, it pulls cylinders to do it, with better tyres it won't be so aggressive
  6. Yeah, but I don't want to run them just for the drags, I want to run them during fair weather short cruises, <100km The only time I would run the "street tyres" would be during wet weather, or long trips away, like down to Goulburn, or interstate for holidays Having power without traction defeats the purpose of having the power The Toyo R888R are better than the RS4's, but, it could be better I'm happy to replace the Drag Radials when required, I should probably get around a year out of a set if I'm using daily tyres for the long drives, the Harley gets used for short trips to and from work In the end if I get a 11 something I'll be happy, but having traction on the street is also rather handy when push comes to shove The 255 RS4's didn't cut the mustard The R888R are better, but.....
  7. Yeah, I did try some custom steel "chasers" all round for a while, but ended up hating them and put the stockers back on, gave them to my mate used them on his box trailer 🤣 I do have a set of 15 x 7 "chasers" in the shed, they can fit up to a 255 drag radial, but, I would only run them at the drags, running them daily would be way too "lower class" Bogan and my family wouldn't let me in the door My family likes to consider ourselves "middle to upperclass" Bogans, hence matching Gold Simmons FR1's or bust
  8. I want matching rims front and rear though, so throwing some DR on my current set is where its at The smallest the FR1 go is 17" Unless I go for a totally different set for front and rear, which I don't, because the FR1 meet my bogan prerequisites of wheels I did look at some 15 x 8 and 15 x 10 rims, but the rims cost a fortune and look way to drag racer for my " it's basically stock" look that I'm going for
  9. Got bored at work, went for a cruise for a few hours around Sydney, car is a dream to drive, literally flys under the radar, did get stuck in peak hour though for a while, big comfy seats and the slush box makes it a pleasure to drive, pumped some old PIL (Public Image Limited) on the head unit and just enjoyed life, ended up eventually getting some free air when a noisy, fart tuned C63 AMG something something sedan pulled up and tried it on, at "WSID" LOL, nope, Bogans 1, Euros 0 The Bogan cruise ship is so unassuming My problem now is when I picked up the car, Spiro from Autotech he got out his Moroso calculator, done some sliding around with it and said some Mickey T drag radials should get me a easy high 10 at around 128mph I would need to drop my current 2.4 60' to around a 1.6 though So, can I justify getting some 275/40 17 drag radials when the R888R's are worn out??????? Can I ????? Really ????? Can I ?????? YOLO I'm now looking at another set of of Gold 17 x 9.5 FR1's for street duties with some 255/40 17 Toyo Proxes T1 sports, mainly for daily duties and long weekend trips away up and down the coast, and sticking some 275/40 17 Mickey Thompson ET Street S/S on my current set for "fun" in the sun Yeah yeah, I know......
  10. AI had a look at the Harrop site Apparently it is an optional extra for "added security" Meh, it's sorted now
  11. #Humbla You were beaten by a girl 😎
  12. Found out that the occasional "squealing" from the serpentine belt when I backed off after a big hit wasn't the belt slipping, it was the OEM harmonic balancer trying to spin itself off LS1's don't have a keyway to pin the balancer to the crank, it isn't needed NA BUT, "apparently" your meant to pin them when you build a engine and fit a supercharger, to stop this from happening My fancy new balancer and crank has now been pinned so they play nice together Hooray for preventative maintenance
  13. Linky to study please 🙏
  14. Ohh noooos, it's only just got all nice and shiny.....and working.....again When you going to take it to WSID and race me for a bag of donuts RWD JDM speed boat vs RWD AUD cruise ship No drag radials, but semi-slicks are GTG I've also got a tilt tray on speed dial so we are both good there....🤣
  15. Not sure, I'm in no real hurry, "proof of concept" was the 122 MPH trap speed In the end it's just a fun street cruiser not a racecar
  16. Add to the list a new harmonic balancer, tensioner and other pulleys Basically a fully restoration......
  17. Sounds like a sickness.......🤣 I'm 57, work lets me retire at 55 but I'm pushing through to 60 which is compulsory retirement My only concern is living long enough to retire so I can spend the kids inheritance And you are only ever as old as the woman you are feeling.......so I'm still feeling pretty old.....🥴....... Bless her patience
  18. Nope, been there, done that, never again 🤯 The old girl is only at 145,000km, the engine is basically only just run in 👍
  19. Add to the list of "why not" a new fancy timing chain......, and "while where there" the sumps coming of the check the pickup strainer/mesh thingo...
  20. In AU, or the Ununited States Guestimation = here under 100kAUD or there 200USD
  21. The springs just lets the valve bleed off pressure/oil and it bypasses the feed gallery and heads back to where the pickup feed is On the LS the oil gets the the bearings...eventually This vid explains the OEM pump well IRT the pressure release valve and how the bypass works The oil pressure light coming on intamitantly could just be a sticky valve, but, why pull something apart and not put something better in I believe the low oil pressure light comes on somewhere between 5-10 psi Well will stick a gauge in after the installation to see what difference it makes at hot idle and higher RPM, and by high RPM I mean 6300 RPM.....LOL
