I've had a few turbo cars over the years, all made mandatory choo choo noises, but never a supercharged car, now I do Frankly, the power delivery of this kills every turbo car I have ever owned, it makes about the same Hp as my old 25/30 in the boat, but, pisses all over it from idle Power wise it delivers better than anything I have ever owned I actually prefer the V8 throaty roar and blower whine over the choo choo noises from any of my turbo cars As for the public, all I get is thumbs up and comments about how good it sounds If we ever meet up feel free to have a drive and give it a little boot, that way you can make up your own mind, I'm as biased as 10 biased things
  3. It was the little red oil light, that occasionally comes on when it is idling, that talked me into looking into it Meh, playing cars is fun, spending money is fun Engine might get refreshed next year.....🤔

A higher volume (bigger) pump will "keep" the pressure up in the low RPM's, I don't need more pressure, I just need what the stock spring gives me LS1 engines typically have minimal pressure at idle and due to the design of the pump struggle to make and keep pressure, resulting in lower than desired oil pressure at low RPM, as I'm making full boost from the minute I hit the loud pedal more volume and a better design is required to keep the stock pressure actually there The GM LSA has a pump that runs 43% more volume because of this, no more pressure, just more volume The issue with the OEM pump is it also cavities at higher RPM due to its design, the Melling pump has better flow paths than OEM, which stops this happening, the higher volume also can help with the cooling and valvetrain noise at low RPM The pressure required to meet the specs comes from the clearances, if I had a sloppy built forged engine the builder would specify what pressure was needed at the bearings, which, would then mean playing with higher pressure springs as well volume, I remember Yavus from Unigroup talking about this with my old R33 when he was playing with the regulator on the Tomei high volume oil pump getting it to the pressure the builder said it needed at the bearings. ..😟...triggered......R33.....triggered..... 😟.....oil everywhere........🤯 So, for my LS1 at least, by adding a higher volume pump, with better flow paths, the stock pressure will remain stable at idle to WOT And for around $300, it is a cheap thing to do, seeing as though the balancer is off anyway to fix the front main Well, thats what the voices in my head say

I've been told that high volume pump will be advantages in it as opposed to high pressure Higher volume with standard pressure for modified unopened engines Higher pressure + higher volume for built engines, dependant on clearances Melling recommends the 10296 pump (18% increase)with standard oil pressure for the unopened high milage and/or modified LS1 that lives under 6500 rpm Melling 10295: Same volume as LS1, 10% increase in pressure over LS1 based M295 oil pump. Melling 10296: 18% increase in volume, stock pressure over M295 and 10295 oil pump. Moroso 22120: 18% increase in volume, stock pressure over M295 and 10295 oil pump. Melling 10355: 33% increase in volume over the 10295. Factory GM LSA: 33% increase in volume over the 10295. Melling 10355HV: 53% increase in volume over the 10295.

The Cruise Ship is in dry dock (Autotech) It has developed a knock in the steering, mainly on right handers, I had a look, got the shits rolling around on my back under the car without finding what is was, so sent it to Autotech so they can put it up in the air and have a good look around, I'm guessing its a rack bush While it is there I've asked them to do the front main seal, which currently losses oil at the rate of about 1 drop per week, which is annoying.....so.......seeing though the harmonic balancer needs to be pulled.....I've asked them to fit a Melling 10296 high volume pump, because.......why not

I don't think there is such a thing as a pled shit box GTS-t anymore, especially yours, sure, they were 1 step down the ladder from a GTR, and they "were" treated like a red headed step child for a while, and alot were trashed because of it, but really nowadays, a mint looking well sorted one like yours isn't that far away performance wise, apart from no AWD Sure, it won't pull drug money like a GTR at resale, but resale is something that I personally never take into consideration I rate my cars from the drivers seat, and from looking back at it when I'm walking away, and I personally prefer to look back at a classic looking car than some new flashy car, like the new WRX STI that I bought, after a while, every time I looked back at it, all I saw was something that looked like a new Kia, or Mazda, just another 4 door grocery getter sedan, to the point of when I was looking at it all I thought was WTF, why did I buy that soulless thing And yes, I know, I bought the biggest fattest bogan 4 door grocery getter that was ever made in Australia, but strangley it tickles my old nether regions when I look at it, but that may be because I was brought up with V8 Commodores, Falcons, and Toranas, and the circle of life has me in one again Will a BMW tickle your nether regions in 5 years, if the answer is yes then sell the Skyline Just remember that senario in 5 years time, because after the BMW depreciates, the money you get for it will never get you back into a nice clean classic JDM car like the one you currently own Treat it nice, give it a boot now and then, and just enjoy it.....or don't......😝

I've got alot of warm bike gear that can deal with the cold, and for the wet I've got good wets and warm waterproof boots I'll will still be on leave next week, and I'm hoping that after hanging out with the daughter for a few days I'll go for an inland adventure, possibly to Walgett, then along the Gwyder into Grafton then the A1 into Coffs, it's a great ride on the bike

Whilst I'm playing around with the car it would be unfair not to play around with the bike My right heal would get rather toasty sitting next to the exhaust, even though it does have a shield, so, some heat wrap under the sheilding was called for, you cannot even really see it which is nice I'm riding to Goulburn tomorrow so it should cure well and stop smoking by........ Marulan........ Just need to give the bike a clean, to ensure it rains today, and not tomorrow....

I'm really happy with the car as it stands, the MPH shows hows that the car is making good power, but with the limiting factor of traction on the dig I did umm and arr about drag racials, but I cannot really justify purchasing drag radials and rims to get a better ET, which like you said, would just sit a around for most of the time, the old girl was built to be a fun cruiser with some poke, not a drag car When the RaceTCS gets hooked up I'll have another go and see how that goes IRT improving my traction on launch, my vision is a fast street car than I can drive up and down the coast in, and have a little fun with on the odd occasion, without worrying about needing to swap to drag radials to do it I am happy to run the R888R rubber on the rear though, so far they are lasting really well, they have run up and down to Goulburn, Canberra, and Coffs Harbour a few times, and are just as good, if not better than the Hankook RS4's in the wet, and they have done alot of driving around in the wet, I'm hoping to get 10-15k km out of a set doing street duties
  15. Just mashing and pedalling it I've still haven't had the RaceTCS fitted yet though, once that is installed it should knock some time off my 60' Even 2 seconds flat on the 60' should get me into the 11's I'm thinking The big old girl feels really good
