  1. Arrrrggggggg One of the welds for tapping in the interchiller had a pin hole The car basically was losing gas even before it hit the dyno Hence why the highest IAT on the dyno was 36°c, then 40 driving it home, then 50°c ladt night, then 68°c taking it back to the wksp at 0800 this morning Hopefully it will be fixed by close of play tomorrow, I promised my daughter a "daddy daughter day" involving a early breakfast, 10 km river walk, some gym, and finishing with a late lunch, in Goulburn, on Saturday I want the car because it is getting cold, and might be wet, yes I could, and have, gone down for such activities on the bike before, in the cold, and wet, with a bag full of stuff, but it is a royal PITA, and the older I get the more it hurts on the trip home If you see an idiot on a Harley heading down the coast in bright yellow rain gear, at dark O'Clock on Saturday morning, looking pissed off, wet, and cold, then that would be me, and the car isn't fixed
  2. But I'm lazy and don't want to swap rims all the time, I can deal with the compromise.....I think..... The R888R will have to be better than the RS4 though, and still good enough to plod along on a hwy in the rain In the end the car is a streeter, and I'm not keen to put the wear on it that racing does to a car, I'm happy to give the car a hit or 2 to see how it goes on a sticky surface, but I want to avoid chasing 10ths, which is probably what I would do if I got drag radials, because I would be chasing a 10.99 If I can get a compromise between lots of wheel spin from the dig, and from rolling on at 60kph, to being able to hook at 60kph roll, I will be happy.......I think....for now...... I'll get the R888R's fitted tomorrow If it wasn't so bloody rainy all the time, and coming into winter, I would run drag radials At least the winters don't seem to be getting as cold as a 20 years ago Global warming has that going for it, pity global warming also means more rainfall I miss the drought....... TL;DR. Tax time is coming soon, I might get another set of Gold FR1 17x9.5 and some M/T or M&H drag radials 🤣
  3. Finally got the car back Results Everything fits under the bonnet A little more NVH from the Tuff Mounts, but nothing that annoys me, and it is really only noticeable at idle New Walbro intank pump only, but the tank, lines, injectors and wiring harness was all cleaned and/or replaced Driving home, with the cabin aircon on, the IAT was at 40°c, before, on a hwy run, it sat on 50°c, typical traffic temps were 50-55°c When I got stuck in slow traffic for about 5 km the IAT was still at 40°c, before that it would have been at 70°c stuck in traffic After shutting down the car for about 1/2 hour the IAT was at 65°c on start up, it took less than 5 minutes to bring it back down to 40°c I'm curious about how it will go when I press the blue switch, which isolates the cabin aircon and sends to the chiller only Dyno thingie because internets I've also got some Toyo R888R 275/40 17 to fit up, because the 255/40 17 RS4 fail miserably when giving it some beens, both from the dig as well as rolling on from 60kph Will hit WSID soon, Spiro from Autotech said it just needs drag radials for a high 10, he laughed when I said I was putting on 275 R888R's to replace the RS4's, he said they won't hold and I need "real" drag radials in 275/40 17 Meh, tax time is coming up, and that is like free money
  4. Rebuilt with good gear and a proper respray Read the whole tread It will also be handy if your renovating your house And don't be put off by him calling it a shitbox, it is far from a shit box Shit box, boat, peice of 5hit, money pit, are all terms used by owners of modified cars.......or is thst just me
  5. The gears in truck transmissions are huge, well they are in a R series Mack We pulled a old Mack R series box to peices years ago for a look We taught alot of people to drive in these, there was a huge amount of "cleaning the teeth in the gearbox" with the new drivers Once they work out road speed, RPM and what gear their in, with a little rev matching and mechanical sympathy they are as quite as Lots of fun taking off from a set of lights on a hill in a loaded Mack Dump with a trailer carrying a 15 ton bit of plant equipment It's like tap dancing I miss our old trucks
  6. Samsung 11S I think I call this "car on truck" I call this one "crawling child" I call this "shot in the foot". I does have alot of "special features" to do all sorts of picture stuff, which of course I never use
  7. I haven't owned a GTR, but if I did decide to get one, which is always possible, I would look for a car with twins in the original location Why, because I would only use it as a cruiser, and keeping it "twin turbo" would be with keeping the originality of the car I also wouldn't worry about really big power either, just enough power for the street, I would be more interested in a responsive car that pulled from idle, over something that needed alot of revs and a big launch to beat a Hyundai i30 of from the lights Stock body kit, stock wheels, stock intake, hell basically stock everything, including stock block I'm kicking myself, in the balls, hard, really hard, that I didn't get a R32 GTR a few years ago when they were cheap
  8. Test Turkey Nope auto correct seems dead
  9. I'm thinking back a few years now but I don't believe so Get down and have a look I haven't owned a Skyline for more than 10 years and I've tried to purge the memories of it from my brain
  10. I'm triggered, I am obviously Bogan bias You will be hearing from my lawyers
  11. 7% effort Remove, straighten, prep paint, reinstall
  12. Don't be pedestrian and by a BMW Buy something cool like a V8 Crown, or even a V12 Century Roll with the family in style, not like Joe average These would be high on my hit list if I ever decided to sell/crash the Bogan Cruise Ship, which I won't sell, because currently it suits my bogan family man lifestyle sown to a tee Highly strung street cars are so 2010 I could see you rolling a Crown like some pimped out asian dictator, I would tip my hat to you
  13. Rat pack coffee is just like international roast, mmmmmm, delicious, coffee factory conveyor belt sweepings are for the win As for your recipe, I use all the coffee and all the condensed milk for my morning brew It doesn't taste the best but it has all of the caffines and all of the sugars a growing boy needs to hide the flavour of wet rations I'm a coffee in the AM and tea in the PM kinda guy Jet boil has the job done in under a minute, I'm not a fan of iced coffee, or iced tea for that matter BMW inspiration
  14. I like any coffee with caffeine in it Moccona classic at home, Nescafe at work because free, and I rarely purchase coffee from a shop Get your tune on, then sell car for drug money before you kill it again Advertise as one owner, R33 GTST+(plus), never taken out in the rain, never raced, always serviced at Nismo Australia, and garaged in a hermetically sealed cotton wool cocoon. Don't forget to wind back the clock to something believable, like 21,080 km 130k ono
  15. "Rumble shack" Was a very fashionable place with the young 'uns at work when they were doing Subies a few years ago Some moved to Pulse, which is why I sent mine to Pulse Most of the rev head young 'uns then moved to VW or Audi's a few years ago, now they either have jacked up black smoking diesel 4x4 or Holdens and Ford utes and sedans with a mix of V8 and boosted Barra's It's rare to see, or hear, a STI anymore
  16. E85 is a PITA for a daily Lots of coin for fair-weather gain I've ummed and arred over E85 alot, but due to it being logically hard to find it isn't worth the outlay for me E85 is great for race cars or strictly low range weekenders, but for me, who calls a 400km a short drive, it ain't worth it for 2 or 3 trips to the drags a year And there's no way in hell I'm carrying around jerry cans going for a cruise
  17. In the end when I looked at it I saw a Kia I prefer the look of the older bug eye style of wrx
  18. I though I would like it, but, I hated my 2015 STI, it just did not inspire me, even after some parts and tuning to get about 220 kwatw from it (only tuned up enough to not worry the glass ringlands), stock it made 145 kwatw on the Pulse dyno I know no one who made over 250 kwatw reliability from one with a stock engine I fell for the WRC fan boy marketing I was comfortable though, and cabin noise was minimal, so it technically was a OK daily, fuel consumption wasn't good for a true daily if that's a thing you look at though
  19. That's what they were for when they were cheap and parts were cheap and plentiful
  20. No no no Keep Skyline for cruising and street fun Buy something you don't care about binning or breaking for the track I would hate to see you scratch those shiny panels
  21. It will be cool tomorrow Don't stress out man
