How much effort to straighten front plates bracket?
The Bogan replied to sonic99's topic in General Maintenance
I'm thinking back a few years now but I don't believe so Get down and have a look I haven't owned a Skyline for more than 10 years and I've tried to purge the memories of it from my brain -

7% effort Remove, straighten, prep paint, reinstall -
Don't be pedestrian and by a BMW Buy something cool like a V8 Crown, or even a V12 Century Roll with the family in style, not like Joe average These would be high on my hit list if I ever decided to sell/crash the Bogan Cruise Ship, which I won't sell, because currently it suits my bogan family man lifestyle sown to a tee Highly strung street cars are so 2010 I could see you rolling a Crown like some pimped out asian dictator, I would tip my hat to you

Rat pack coffee is just like international roast, mmmmmm, delicious, coffee factory conveyor belt sweepings are for the win As for your recipe, I use all the coffee and all the condensed milk for my morning brew It doesn't taste the best but it has all of the caffines and all of the sugars a growing boy needs to hide the flavour of wet rations I'm a coffee in the AM and tea in the PM kinda guy Jet boil has the job done in under a minute, I'm not a fan of iced coffee, or iced tea for that matter BMW inspiration

I like any coffee with caffeine in it Moccona classic at home, Nescafe at work because free, and I rarely purchase coffee from a shop Get your tune on, then sell car for drug money before you kill it again Advertise as one owner, R33 GTST+(plus), never taken out in the rain, never raced, always serviced at Nismo Australia, and garaged in a hermetically sealed cotton wool cocoon. Don't forget to wind back the clock to something believable, like 21,080 km 130k ono

"Rumble shack" Was a very fashionable place with the young 'uns at work when they were doing Subies a few years ago Some moved to Pulse, which is why I sent mine to Pulse Most of the rev head young 'uns then moved to VW or Audi's a few years ago, now they either have jacked up black smoking diesel 4x4 or Holdens and Ford utes and sedans with a mix of V8 and boosted Barra's It's rare to see, or hear, a STI anymore

E85 is a PITA for a daily Lots of coin for fair-weather gain I've ummed and arred over E85 alot, but due to it being logically hard to find it isn't worth the outlay for me E85 is great for race cars or strictly low range weekenders, but for me, who calls a 400km a short drive, it ain't worth it for 2 or 3 trips to the drags a year And there's no way in hell I'm carrying around jerry cans going for a cruise

In the end when I looked at it I saw a Kia I prefer the look of the older bug eye style of wrx

I though I would like it, but, I hated my 2015 STI, it just did not inspire me, even after some parts and tuning to get about 220 kwatw from it (only tuned up enough to not worry the glass ringlands), stock it made 145 kwatw on the Pulse dyno I know no one who made over 250 kwatw reliability from one with a stock engine I fell for the WRC fan boy marketing I was comfortable though, and cabin noise was minimal, so it technically was a OK daily, fuel consumption wasn't good for a true daily if that's a thing you look at though

No no no Keep Skyline for cruising and street fun Buy something you don't care about binning or breaking for the track I would hate to see you scratch those shiny panels

It will be cool tomorrow Don't stress out man

Historically, If he drives it there's a 50/50 chance it will break something Which still makes the Skyline more reliable than a BMW Yes, yes, and more reliable than a 20 year old Holden as well Your car is to pretty to swap for a run of the mill BMW that could be mistaken for a Kia from side on Wind the boost down and enjoy for the next 20 years

I got lazy and dropped off some thermal protection for the trans lines yesterday, whilst it is easy to install when the car is on a hoist, it was going to be a PITA to do on my back with the car up on stands at home, yeap, I got even more lazy than normal I had a squizz and a chat about the car...... well....... the fuel tank was full of sludge and the pre filter was pretty clogged up, that may have been the reason for the fuel pump failure, although the wiring was only just holding on as well Where did the sludge come from? 20 year old tank? Dirty fuel? Don't know....., the wiring connector thingie was due to 20 years of exposure to "stuff" Meh, anyways, tanks out and getting cleaned, a new pump going in, new wiring, flushing all lines and the injectors are coming out for a clean The interchiller is almost finished, just waiting on a aircon line to be modified, or remade, or something, to fit in the T peice solenoid switch thingie, (interchiller and car AC, or, interchiller only, so no condensation drips) The engine has been lowered enough to get the bonnet clearance for the thermal spacers under the blower by using a mix of lowered engine mounts and K-frame spacers so there is clearance in all the right spots, read: the steering rack was being a dick to the sump 🙄 The interchiller is tucked up inside the frontbar so now there's 1 less things in the way of the airflow to the radiator and condenser, basically back to stock, basically Hopefully get the car back in a few days.....hopefully -

Not sure if you've read this thread The Nissan gods will hate me, but....meh, no love lost there Probably alot cheaper than a billet RB, and parts fall out of the sky where you live -

Just dropped the car off at Autotech In the end I just said "fix it and throw on the interchiller" I also asked about "future proofing" it, i.e. replacing stuff that typically fails on 20 year old cars, like sensors and "stuff", for instance, the cam angle sensor sits at the rear of the block hidden by the blower, to replace it the blower needs to come off, so, as the blower is coming off to install the thermal spacers, might as well swap it out, a new OEM item only costs about $150 anyway so why not We also talked about intank pumps, the surge tank that robbo-rb180 suggested, and other "stuff" that may, or may not, be required I should hear back in a day or 2 and find out what is what I'm super keen to actually find out how the interchiller actually effects the IAT and performance -

The car is probably making at least 500hp at the engine, probably a chunk more I have no idea of what the actual flow rate the engine requires to keep it happy, but, from the googles, and the old skyline, 400 lp/h is the "ball park" that I assume I require for being in a happy place I am currently googling what a standard pump flows but haven't found a definitive answer yet The way I look at it is while I'm in there is to upgrade with better parts if possible A upgraded fuel system is cheap insurance I think when you have some boost on board In the end I just pay cash, the only other "upgraded" fuel pump I have had was a Bosch 044(???) in my old Skyline, and Yavus from Unigroup recommend that for its 500hp atw I've got no idea what I really need 🤣 All and any recommendations are gladly welcomed -

What is your opinion on the AF49-1041? The bosch 044 seems reliable Any recommendations for the main intank? I was looking at this, again, because it uses a Bosch pump > https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/265249233967?chn=ps&_ul=AU&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=705-139619-5960-0&mkcid=2&itemid=265249233967&targetid=&device=m&mktype=pla&googleloc=9071721&poi=&campaignid=15791083372&mkgroupid=&rlsatarget=&abcId=9300816&merchantid=9717232&gclid=CjwKCAjwxZqSBhAHEiwASr9n9P3K0wT8a7JQ7zBKm_1si_2JmfDJ2_pMS0XqWVrDQ_JkFm0DR30NkhoCmn0QAvD_BwE -

LOL NEXT Fuel pump Shopping list > Or something like it I am getting my moneys worth out of the NRMA though, which is nice -
Build it back up stout and strong, and don't treat it like a hire car These cars are well past the built it, break it, build it again age, can you even get good used long motors anymore? For a young family guy I would get the head sorted, wind back the powers a bit and settle for an awesome modern classic that you can cruise around in enjoying life A nicely sorted, moderately powerful car will always be better than a big horsepower car that spends most of its life in a garage, with a busted engine/transmission/drivetrain, that you cannot easily sourc e parts for........... I was in Canadia years ago with work, Medicine Hat, lovely country, watched some ice hockey teams beat the shit out of each other, which was nice, anyways, don't you have all those big yank engines that are just laying around in wreckers waiting for someone to drag them out and throw on some turbos, get one of them, drop it in a old F body and make 700hp for a couple of thousand dollars..........I do get all my yank muscle info from old mate from Vice Grip Garage though, so I may be full of (shit) misinformation Anyways, it sounds like you've picked up your showbags and are now GTG again Which is good because I enjoy your build thread Stay safe
