  1. I believe the converter was locked. But, my speedo reading is way out now, I believe they f**ked up the calibration it had for the 3.9 diff when they played with rhe tune. GPS reads 80, speedo reads 100. How and if this effects anything I have no clue, apart from me driving like Miss Daisy. I'll ring them tomorrow to get it fixed. I was doing what I thought was 100 in a 100 zone and everyone was passing me, I got the Mrs to get google maps up and to my dismay I was doing 80.
  2. So, after taking the Mrs for a cruise today (Robertson pie shop, long way there, long way home) I'm definitely looking at those interceptor copies in silver, with caps of course, #fullbogan 17 x 8 + 42 for the front 17 x 9 + 48 for the rear Tyres will be Hankook RS4, cheap but good. 235/45 front and 255/40 rear Rollin' on 19" rims and rubber band tyres is arse on anything other than dead flat and smooth highways. I'm just waiting on a shipping quote. In other, Mrs related news, she wants me to put the pacemaker rear muffler back on, doing a dollar ten on the highway with 3.9 gears is to noisy for her to sleep.....LOL. Meh, things you do.. I'm also still looking for 2 interceptors, 15 x 7 which I will shod with some Micky T's for LOL's at WSID.
  3. LSV It does do a "little" shimmy at idle in neutral, once in drive it just squats down a bit harder on the brake.
  4. All cammed up Better than I expected Slightly choppy idle, still responsive off idle, and the thing howls. 20200515_165858.mp4
  5. No plates = not imported correctly maybe. But just going off a random picture, that car could be the cause of COVID-19. Or not
  6. Close, but wrong one LS1 3 bolt throttle body https://www.tuffcarparts.com.au/holden-gm-chevrolet-chev-ls1-5.7lt-v8-nos-efi-wet Yes, I've looked
  7. Car goes in tomorrow. The guy recommend trunion bushing kit? They look like solid brass vs roller. Like this > https://vcmstore.com.au/products/ls-rocker-trunnion-upgrade-kit Thoughts
  8. I'm impressed with my Hankook Ventus S1 EVO 3's. Just depends on what size you need/want.
  9. Number plate on Lexus is Colorado, I think...
  10. http://www.lewisengines.com.au/ls1-cnc-ported-head-packages-com I'm looking for my 2020 Xmas present. Cam for my birthday, heads for Xmas maybe
  11. I've been looking at heads and an intake, the intake is relatively cheapish, the heads are costly, sooooo Thanks all for the information, I'll have them throw in the LSV with the all the other snot they install at the same time.
  12. Got my quote for a cam and stuff install. Waiting for workshop time now. Cannot decide on which one though. Oztrack recommend the LSV or HP3. They recommend that LSV would suit the car as is, but the HP3 has headroom for intake manifold and head work in the future. LSV idles smooth and comes on fairly quick. The HP3 is fairly choppy (I love the sound of a lumpy cam) but still ok for the stock converter. Both are a big improvement over the current cam, lots of gains in torque and between 30-50kw up high. I'm leaning towards the HP3 maily because of #lumpyloapylols, the 3.9 diff gears should "hopefully" help it get up into the cam without to much delay. Streetability for both are apparently good. Hmmmm In other news: my fears of a highstall and not locking up in the auto are unfounded, soooo, if I do go the bigger cam, a high stall converter will be the next mod. Now all I need is that WSID opens soon so I can do a pre and post run. LOL, f**king Covid spoiling all my fun.
  13. That looks neat. How did it flow?
  14. Post pics, then, with a small amount of plagiarism, the task isn't as hard.
  15. OEM with filter.
  16. Not with 2 step and auto. Line lockers on the other hand.
  17. Whilst I do love a good 2 step, yeah nah, #becauseslushbox
  18. Now you cannot see the butchered air cond heat exchanger. I used some pinch weld I had laying around, it ain't pretty but it works, I may try some different pinch weld next time I'm near somewhere that sells it. Radiator should be a bit more efficient as well, I'm guessing, as I'm not lossing air pressure in front of the radiator due to the air bypassing the radiator and entering the engine bay up and over the top. Before After
  19. Hey, I was 20 in 1985....... Good times were had, I think I had my LJ around then. Ahhh, fond memories of drag meets at port botany on Saturday nights. In other news: I really need to research shit more.
  20. My understanding is that the correct RPM range for the converter should be 500 RPM below the cruise RPM IOT ensure the converter has stopped slipping. Back when Mosses wore shorts I remember guys throwing in high stalls in their street cars with varying results of reliability, due to the converter constantly slipping and cooking. Disclaimer: I'm far from actually knowing what I'm talking about, my memory is a bit fuzzy, and the googles is full of misinformation. I'll give VCM a call and also pop into Oztrack in the Riff for a chat. Oztrack did the original bolt ons and tune.
  21. Yeah, I assume there is more to that dyno than a cam and some bolt ons. From searching around a cam that suits my auto might get me a bit more up top but a good chunk in rhe middle without sacrificing to much down low, where rhe 3.9 gears should help anyway. My power will be limited by the cam I am able to use with the stock converter. The car is currently a daily/cruiser, the 3.9 diff has me reving pretty high, even in top gear, when doing 110, hence, I cannot fit a high stall to suit a big lumpy cam, and not kill the converter. Compromise is my middle name. Anyway, that is what I'm rolling with ATM, I'll talk to somw SME's on it and see how I proceed.
  22. .
  23. I've got to stop googling because..... https://www.oztrack.com.au/index.php/2013-09-27-06-14-12/performance-camshaft-information 3. HPA/HP2- low 230s cam, lumpier and more up high power by a small margin over the LSV calmer than the GT. Biggest recommended cam in Automatics.
