  1. For such a little bit of exhaust it was a bit of a PITA. I've never had to lift a engine, albeit only about 1", to fit an exhaust. Anyways, the OEM pipe was rubbish.
  2. If I wanted something like that, which I don't, the Toyota C-HR would be my pick. The Juke might have more performance but at least with the C-HR I wouldn't vomit when I looked at it. It looks like Renault and Mini (BMW) had drunk sex and this was the offspring. Plus TRD make big plastic exterior stuff if you like brand name plastic.
  3. I've never met a GT car that wasn't fat.
  4. Or post 7, or post 1? Push button start is cool. Proximity keys are cool.
  5. Which is your personal opinion? Post 1 or post 7, or have they changed?
  6. Thar looks ok. The real answer is everyone's tastes and requirements are different. What looks good to one person looks shit to another. Some people want a sporty car that handles well. Some people want something they can put the family in and tow a trailer across the country. Some people want to modify a small NA 4 cyl rwd manual coupe that is lucky to make 100 killerwasps atw even with an obnoxiously loud exhaust, but which sticks to corners like shit on a blanket. Some people dont. Some people want to modify thier Land Cruiser, Camry, ute, bus, motorcycle, body..... Some people dont. Some people go out of their way to try and impress people and be a cool kid. Some people don't give a f**k about what people think (me). Disclaimer: I do give a f**k about what the missus thinks, I might be dumb but I'm not stupid. In ending, forum needs more build/technical, reading, some of these threads are making me dumber, some LOLS are had though.
  7. Looks real clean underneath, nice. Does it have a shopping list. Oh, and get that puppy shiny.
  8. Sort of, you cannot put a old 80's rb30 from a VL in a 90's R33, but, you can if it has the 25/26 head and associated fueling and emissions stuff. Plus I believe if you register it as a ground up built kit car, you have some leeway, engineering out the wazzo though, I'm thinking back a few years now so things may have changed. I belive the main concern is meeting current emmisions standards, which with some cane juice and tuning shouldn't really be a concern. Happy trails
  9. http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/69290-rb-remote-oil-filter-takeoff/
  10. I just googled because you have lightened up my evening, it might be > m18 by 3/4 unf male to male. from here> https://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/106118-removing-stock-rb-oil-water-heat-exchanger.html#/topics/106118 Knock one up and test fit. Simples ??
  11. I apologise for having done all this before with a 25 and then a 25/30. I'm sorry for not answering your question and only asked about why you wanted to remove it I'm sorry fir selling my Nissan years ago, thus rendering anything I learnt from that time irrelevant. Na, I'm not sorry. I am happy though, you make me smile.
  12. I still ran the heat exchanger on my 25 when I had it, it had no issues with oil pressure, I will admit when I had a 25/30 built I didn't have one though, that had oil pressure issue. And no, I have no idea. Have you tried google? ?
  13. With a oil to water heat exchanger on my 86 (off a forester) my oil temp from cold comes up about 5 minutes quicker. No noticable changes to operating coolant temp or oil temp. As I am super anal about ensuring my oil temps are at the correct operating temp, about 100°c before I lean on a engine (I like my bearings), this means that my temps are good to go for thrashing the bejesus out of the car after about 5 minutes of driving. Or is that just me...
  14. You do know they are for bringing up your oil temp from cold start, which is a good thing. They actually don't do alot for cooling your oil, there is some cooling but its minimal, nor do they really effect coolant temps. I've installed one on my 86. Why do you want to remove it.
  15. I'm seeing more modified 4x4's, nearly every turbo diesel ute/wagon that the young guys at work have TBE exhaust, intercooler/intake and suspension upgrades. It's funny listen to them spool up just driving around.
  16. But like Neil Young said, actually he sung , "Hey hey, my my, rock and roll can never die".
  17. Hey, I'm a 53 year old hoon and still enjoy a nice modded car. Always have, always will
  18. I wouldn't say busted, I owned a 33, and now I don't like the look at all. Spooky
  19. So, the car is going brilliantly, slowly wearing out the tyres, will need some new rubber soon, I'm thinking of going to 225, or a massive 235, maybe???? I'm dropping some leave soon and will have some free time, So... I grabbed a 2.5" aftermarket overpipe. The OEM overpipe is 2", the one I picked up is 2.5". Plus the OEM one has crush bends, where as the new one is mandrel bends and made from multiple sections all welded up nice and pretty, or pretty enough for something that will never be seen again once installed. As for power gains, somewhere around "who knows", maybe 3 donkey powers, maybe 2 torque torques. Plus the cheapo eBay exhaust wrap should see some gains in itchyness during and after installation, win win. The point of the purchase is I want to play with the car, I haven't had bleeding knuckles for ages. Outlay for all the parts was only $140, I estimate it will take 4 Scotch and Cokes to do.
  20. From my experience it comes and goes, movies are good for the scene I found, to a point, not F&F, that sort of was all neons and shit body kits. But for me, going back 35 odd years of driving sporty or performance type cars its the movies that did it for me. Bullet, vanishing point, gone in 60 sec (both new and old), mad max, running on empty. They were epic, new movies like F&F or need for speed, not so much, well for me anyway. The F&F franchise sure put alot if money into the workshops and suppliers though. There are not as many "worked" cars on the road nowdays though, I would say the scene is at a low point, plus with the hoon and P plate laws and such, that has stopped nearly all the street racing, when I was young every second night there was a drag race somewhere, well somewhere other than the drags that is.
