MLR's Bogan cruise ship

Didn't hate the 86, the non-existent rear seat space was a small issue, not my issue really though, but, as all the kids are grown, moved out, and have their own cars, the rear seats would be just extra luggage space The Minister requires 2 suitcases and a "carry on or 2" for a weekend away, typically I take a spare pair of jocks and socks, and a toothbrush.....if there is any space left, LOL In reality the 86 is the most missed car I have ever owned The R33, well, there was hate in the end for that and I was happy to see it leave In other, financial news, the broker said they probably wouldn't be able to get a BRZ tS any cheaper than if I just ordered one through Subaru as they have no issues selling the ones they have The dealers want just over $55k for a new tS without any additional bits, and I would probably need to wait for the colour I want, but when ordering a BRZ tS online through Subaru, with the colour and other accessories I want, it is around $53k, albeit with around a 6 month wait, which I'm fine with, just gives me more time to think about the cat back and wheels I want for it In other Toyota news, there is unconfirmed word that they may be releasing a new Toyota MR2 next year to replace the 86, hopefully real news and information will come out about it soonish, to either confirm or deny the talk As stated, I'm in no rush and will wait and see what 2025 models are going to be coming out later this year -
This was/is my main concern, IIRC, I had some of that clear reinforced on mine, from the breathers to a 1" to the can, but as the can was in the engine bay it was only a short run from the breather to the can Maybe running 2 x 1" lines from the engine to the can, and 1 x 1.5" out, as a 1.5" cross sectional area of 1.5" is around twice that of 1" From my understanding, which is heavily limited, if you restrict the breathing it can/will raise crank case pressure and blow seals and "stuff" Maybe I'm wrong, but from remembering the amount of pressure coming out of the can in my sloppy old 25/30 build, large hoses were definitely needed to "keep the pressure down"

I still have bad memories of going into turn 1 at Wakefield in my old R33 boat, going sideways, then backwards, then loopety looping it The culprit was a catch can that puked oil out "everywhere" Fun times......🙄
-
Spit balling Could you connect a boost gauge to the oil cap somehow, disconnect the can line and take a reading, then reconnect the line and take another reading to see the crankcase pressure difference? Agree it will need to be done when the engine is used in anger for sustained runs Disclaimer: I tend to over think things nowadays

My brother from another mother, and probably about the same age Road test starts at 07:45. The road looks amazing, apart from the random traffic consisting or cars, trucks and motorbikes -

FYP "New" school Mil spec if average to say the least Yeah, I'm that jaded -
Is it possible to check what your crankcase pressure is? I know with hydraulics that the longer the line, the more pressure you need to move the oil Maybe due to the long single line, the crankcase pressure will rise because it is being bottle necked by the long line, maybe, maybe not, it may work great My brain hurts now, time for a snooze

I kinda like the red, it "sort of" reminds me of my old orange one I loved As for a turbo, nah, I'll keep it stock, well....maybe just a cat back, and intake, and some wheels, and probably a tune......LOLOLOLOLOL I'm going to chat to my broker and see what he can do for me Good news is the Minister for War and Finances is onboard -

My R32 GTR Restoration

I'm actually a fan of a bright yellow R32 http://www.rbmotoring.com/blog/nissan-skyline-r32-yellow-color-available-to-source But then I like colours that aren't black, white, silver or grey for sporty/fun cars, those colours seem to blend into the background, I'm looking into a carpark right now with about 100 cars in it, and the only cars that stand out amongst the sheep are yellow, orange, red, blue and this weird yellowish greenish HQ ute -
R34 GTR Clutch Feels Like It Is Not Disengaging
The Bogan replied to te37's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Disclaimer: totally different car My Honda's shifts were a "little" notchy at high RPM and the clutches engaged pretty high, no amount of bleeding fixed it, I thought it might have been the syncros, turns out the old girls clutch, pressure plate, fork and thrust bearing were worn, after replacing those OEM parts with new OEM parts the clutch engagement was much lower, was lighter, and shifted at high RPM like butter I'm not saying this is your issue, but there are alot of moving parts that are considered consumable items hidden in there -
Don't leave a wrapped skyline out in the sun
The Bogan replied to thkyline's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
I've seen wrap peel around edges and bubble, but not fall off in chunks, it does look like it has taken a hit for the wrap to tear and come off like that, how long has it been wrapped? -
My old 500hp R33 25/30 boat used about 20 L/100 Km around town, and about 15 L/100 Km on the Hwy on 98 Currently my 500hp blown LS1 in a Dunnydoore uses around 25 L/100 Km around town, and 12 L/100 Km Hwy on 98 I'm assuming your fuel gauge isn't accurate

Bogan Cruise Ship is all washed and shiny, so I can drive down to Goulburn tomorrow to get covered in bugs, me and the daughter will then head into Canberra for some lunch and shopping As for the Honda, it has had a clutch birthday at BYP (clutch, pressure plate, little bit of flywheel action, spigot bush, new fork, thrust bearing, and while they were in there a fresh rear main seal, and a new timing chain tensioner) Noticeable difference rowing gears at 7750 rpm, cuts shifts like a hot knife through butter Thought about throwing a Torsen LSD in the gear bag, but didn't, which is unlike me with my "while we're sort of in there" mentality Did some chatting with BYP IRT how strong the Honda engines, boxes and clutches are, IIRC they said they run some race cars with the stock K25Z3 engines and 6 speed boxes, even some with a little bit of boost I also asked how hard it would be to fit a little spooly boy that gives me another 100 hp and some dose for LOLS............. Not hard or that expensive really after chatting........🤪 Note to self: when having a quickish take off ensure that the traction control is off, as when it activates it cuts all power for what seems like about 3 seconds, I had the initial jump on a 8th gen Civic Type R until it decided to cut all of my powers when it single pegged, which gave Mark the instant sads New, "budget for the LOLS", possibly incoming for some Honda boost stuff...... and a LSD 🤪 -
Valet mode? Do you have a aftermarket alarm Does your ECU have valet mode? I know some cars and alarms have them and you need to do some switch toggling to activate and deactivate If you do have an alarm google the brand and look for how to activate and deactivate it Or, as stated above, Cursed by a wandering gypsie, built on a pet cemetary, etc.

So, whilst the Bogan Cruise Ship is GTG, and I had organised some time today to go on the SAU NSW cruise, my best laid plans where kicked in the balls, well, kicked in my right knee to be exact Now, after a bit of arthroscopic "honing" and tibial band lengthening "modifications" , I'm sitting on a couch in a prescription induced drug haze, watching 5hit on the Youtubes and falling in and out of consciousness......good times -

To many issues and cost when you look into getting it to a reliable street car that is easily registered and insured I'm looking at something small, cool and fun that just works straight out of the box The Bogan Cruise Ship is my modified car that could possibly have issues at the drop of a hat For my sanity I only really need 1 modified car in my life
