  1. Aaahh.. the old LCA bushes.. noob of me to forget to check them!! Will check them out when I jack up the car.. and if they are rooted than will change them with some Polyurethan bushes.. these are machine pressed on right? Cobey, I agree as it was strange the car sitting their would go out of allignment. The car was alligned at the compliance shop so I guess they may not have seen it (or forgot to tell me).. car drove straight as for a bit before being parked for a month or so than had started to pull not long after of being driven. Cheers guys for the responses
  2. Hey kids, Just wanted to double check something. I am aware there are some differences between the G35 and V35 (LHD/RHD differences for headers due to steering rack location etc) but wanted to check if the allignment specs (toe in etc) listed in the FSM for the G35 are the same for a V35 Coupe? I wouldn't think it would be different but wanted to check when I get mine alligned.. Random question as well.. car was perfectly alligned and not driven for 2 months than once driven, started to pull left. Steering wheel is a bit cocked left. When having the steering wheel dead centre seems to turn a bit to the right, if I let go will pull left. For a car that has been sitting there, the allignment shouldn't go out like that. I flipped the tyre on the rim and swapped them (directionals) and didn't really do much. Measured the coilover height on all 4 sides (in case one has leaked and dropped a bit but even than wouldn't be that out) they were all sweet as. Brakes don't appear to be dragging. Don't know how the tie rods would die sitting there but will check them out. Any ideas? R6n350GT.. I am looking at you..
  3. This guy!! Wow.. can't believe I missed that. So far has been good so will pull it out trim it up!! Cheers for the info. Recently got the Motordyne spacer and front/rear strut.
  4. Nice work man.. looks the Biz. Where did you guys get your Megan Pipe from? I'm doing my research to see where is the cheapest to get it from considering shipping will probably be a killer!! Any luck withe cats hitting the heat shield?
  5. I too just recently acquired a Takeda Intake Kit. Rather than making a new thread, thought I would post here.. and annoy the OP Contents of box Came with Bonus License Plate cover (USDM) and some stickers including a Ninja sticker .. some of the G35 boys mentioned theirs came with a keyring but that was awhile ago. Pics of it installed (yes ignore dirty EB.. been mucking around alot and haven't had a chance cleaning it up!!) All in all went well, rear of box is closer to engine and found the secondary duct for the box (the left one located above the radiator) didn't sit in place properly, had to move it to the right and use the factory plugs to retain though not as sealed as OEM box which is weird as front of OEM box is retained but doesn't cause any dramas. I'm thinking of mocking up a bracket to bolt to the OEM mounting point on the chassis (OEM box is mounted from the bottom and joined to the chassis on the right). Car responds alot better from about 3k onwards.. is alot louder too lol. Only thing is I find with the new intake is that it amplifies the loss of power caused by the OEM Plenum angle. This will improved once I get the Motordyne Spacer. THINGS TO LOOK OUT FOR: There are I'd say 3 main things to look out for. Firstly the screws holding the original AFM in look like these: I had the relevant shaped drivers but was inhibited by the metal point in the middle so it requires a similar shaped driver with hollow centre. The workaround for this however was I used a pair of thick pliers, tightly held it on the screw and turned it and it worked. Another thing to look out for is the stock vacum line. This is an important component for engines and any cracks/kinking etc isn't good. I found that mine kinking a little bit like this: It's not as bad as it looks however wasn't happy with it so trimmed the end part I think an inch or so and the kink is more of a S bend now. The last thing isn't as major but relevant. Make sure when putting the clamp onto the silicone couplers NOT to tighten it at all as the joiners have a tight stretch over the Throttle Body and Pod Filter. Question for OP Stuart. It came with a thin piece of rubber.. the book says its a rubber trim. What did you/did you use this? The AFM wires are already covered up and couldn't find a place to make use of it. Instructions don't say where to use it, the last pic of the book shows it connected (comparing to the first pic on the book of the engine bay) That's about it.
  6. Good detailed info once again which I will probably use shortly lol. I was considering the Mishimoto purely because the filler cap is in the OEM location however the Koyo is on the left hence cannot use the Power Duct. If I do install the Mishimoto, will try to post pics. I haven't heard that much about problems about fitment however haven't fully researched into that yet. Did you have any dramas at all (except for the Power Duct issue)?
  7. Hey mate, Sorry to bail but I ended up getting the spacer, both braces and intake (its being sent) Still interested in a quote about the headers and radiator though not in a full rush as I got the main items I was after.
  8. Wow what a noob (not you.. me).. lol I make a thread, I get a constructive response (or even a response) and don't even respond to it. I logged in the other day and posted in the other thread about aftermarket head units and forgot to respond to my own thread!! Good thing about SAU I've noticed is you usually get a response and especially looking through yours, a detailed response (Some of your threads should be Stickied) so appreciate your pics included answer to mine.. wasn't trying to be a Judas and not respond. Great info ^^ I agree about the air in the system, when I changed my fans/thermostat recently and emptied the coolant, had real fun getting the air out.. took a bit and some short drives and constant refilling of the overflow bottle to get it right. I put in straight water to run for a short time (to weaken any older coolant) before doing another flush and running some Glyco based coolant (Nissan OEM FTW.. $50). I will probably leave the standard radiator for now and may change it down the track, my real concern was just the poor airflow. Cheers for the heads up about the slimline fans, noticed on some Mishimoto selling sites saying they recommend it.. didn't realise how much more thicker the new one was to the OEM. I was hoping to run the standard fans (seeing as I just bought them recently!!) but if not than will get some slimlines. Once again cheers for the response
  9. Quick shot of mine when it was in Japan You will need one of these http://www.ebay.com....=item2eb73e308e This was just a quick search on ebay.. you can search elsewhere.
  10. Hey guys, I'm thinking of upgrading the radiator to a Mishimoto (twin core) aluminum radiator (manual). When I was changing the radiator fans I saw that the current radiator fitted looked aluminium. It had a Calsonic Kansei sticker on it which is a supplier amongst many things (BCMs etc) of aluminium OEM radiators. I believe the V35s/G35s had either standard or aluminium radiators depending on the model. The FSM shows instructions for both. I wasn't able to confirm whether the unit fitted currently was dual core.. I have a feeling it would have been single core to save on manufacturing costs. What I wanted to know was for those that had a aluminium radiator fitted already (OEM), whether they found a difference in cooling performance with a Mishimoto or Koyo radiator? Obviously would be a jump up for a standard one to aluminium. Just trying to suss out whether it would be worthwhile upgrading or hanging in with the current unit. A dual core would be better however not in a real rush to do so.. just more concerned with Summer coming up and the V's poor air flow won't help out as much. I was going to mock up my own air diversion plates down the track as well. Cheers guys.
  11. I got an email from a supplier.. How goeseth the emails?
  12. Not yet, I'm sure Mr Bryant is doing his best . Not to be a Judas but I may have to bail soon as really got to get my parts sorted (particularly the Mishimoto) and need to let the other guys I'm going through soon. :-)
  13. Hey man, any updates? Not trying to rush just itching to get some mods.
  14. For some reason could not edit my post, I meant Tuner in the boot, not reciever. The Usb input for the HDD is a cable for it is a USB A to USB A which I will Ebay or Jaycar it. If you get the whole package sent, you will get a HDD reader which requires power and USB.
  15. Firstly congratulations on your car man.. good to see another Brisbane V owner I have the same system. Haven't tested divx yet.. actually only tested one DVD which didn't work in any DVD player lol so haven't really tested that out.. will update you when I can. When you get this (fingers crossed), hopefully the owner will have sent you all the stuff that goes with it. The unit does not work (Cd/DVD etc) unless the hard drive is plugged in (bottom part of display folds down to plug it in).. once you turn it on, it greets you in Japanese (mine does lol). I have a friend who can read Japanese so will hopefully be able to turn that off.. apparently the menu can be turned into English but I gave up trying that in settings. If I find out, will post a how to. Haven't really tested the TV that much however I think it may have more to do with the receiver (in the boot) than the antenna as I did a quick scan and picked up random radio stations but no TV. In the boot is the reciever.. if you got the full system than fingers crossed it will have a reverse camera as well (mine did). It should be above the license plate. Mine came with a 10 stack MD stacker on the boot (lol, removed it) which then revealed the input for the receiver under it. It should be all plugged up.. the main 2 for your benefit is VTR1 and VTR 2. VTR 2 is for the camera. Once connected, you go into the menu/av/some button than you can select to have either VTR 1 or 2 on or off. If you have both on, it won't display. VTR1 you can use to plug to a phone or something. I plugged in my N8 which comes up on the screen (I had the A/V cables from a N95 than bought a 3M extensions 3.5mm female to 3.5 Male cable) and it's plugged to my phone if I want. Quality of the phone display isn't the best but meh, does the job.. and seeing as Nokia has brilliant GPS, will come handy but it was more so for playing music. Haven't toyed around with USB yet but Ipod/phone etc should be enough for you as it will run using the AUX VTR. Mechanic at the compliance workshop told me that straight off the bat when he turned it on it picked up Channel 10 I haven't bought one yet as don't use the radio as much but will update you if I do. Also the HDD should come with all the cables etc (it will slot into a larger unit which is what you use to plug to the compute to transfer data.. I haven't got the USB cable yet but not really in a rush.. mine came with a bunch of Japanese gangsta rap.. I"m not kidding about that lol) Hope that is enough to get you started.
  16. Avoid is all I can say. Most of the time its some cheap resistor rubbish. Some I guess advance the timing and makes people think that it's done something I guess. Why would you risk it? It's seriously not worth mucking around with.
  17. Hey Cobes, Once you get the quote, PM me as I got a quote from another supplier inc postage so want to compare. +1 on Aussie dollar being so Awesome
  18. Hey mate I pm'd you. Can you get a quote on the following: Motordyne Isothermal 5/16 Spacer, Takeda Short ram intake Front strut brace (B2Auto has a polished one on their site that clears the spacer/engine cover) Rear Strut Brace Mishimoto Radiator. Possibly Megan Long Headers All for a 04' V35 Coupe 6MT in Brisbane.
  19. No it won't wipe the OEM settings unless you have done some random custom stuff.
  20. Too big for size or weight? I'm guessing you mean size which is strange as they shipped my radiator shroud which isn't that much smaller. Good work getting that link though.
  21. How'd you go with the radiator? I'm looking to buy a Mishi as well (3.5 Coupe) and was seeing if there was any fitment issues you had? Lol really don't want to hack into anything.
  22. I wouldn't say so, reminds me of Titan rims each to their own though. I think the only reason it looks half decent is that the car itself has a clean black look.
  23. Sorry for using one of these however I wanted to ask how you went with your mods in particular the coolant mod. You guys probably hear it a bazillion times but I have been going through numerous threads on the internets to suss out which way to go. Either Plenum upgrade or Spacer. The Plenum upgrade (i.e APS) seems to be the go for top end power which would better suit F/I. The spacers seems to give good mid range power though some say they feel a difference all the way to the red line. I'm still deciding which way to go but wanted to hear some feedback in general from those who have installed theirs since this thread was made. Whichever way I go, I plan to hopefully do a Dyno Run as well. Not expecting a huge gain as such however it will be beneficial to others. Only mod I have atm is a Fujitsubo exhaust atm.
  24. Yeah never really heard anything bad about Autowatch, Dynamco (they merged for others FYI) or other units overall. 3 point immobiliser I'm sure is one of the requirements for insurance. Full alarm is good though its a matter of finding the right installer who knows how to bury it really.
