  1. Thanks I'll check it out. I dont get the Nissan 350 dyno they've done though. The super charger fitted takes it from 197 to about 288 HP. My version of the V35 has the 206KW 350z motor in it, so I'd be expecting results similar to the above in Kilowatts not horsepower... Maybe the graph is wrong. Vortech SC on 350Z
  2. I own an IT company (in QLD) and can tell you that unfortunately not a lot of personalisation normally goes into the repplies for unsuccessful candidates. It's not great, but imagine how much it would cost to send a personalised reply to 100 unsuccessful applicants that listed the ACTUAL reasons they didn't get the job. It would add thousands to the cost of hiring someone. So I second the idea that you review the resume and make sure it is good. Employers want experience sure, but with the price of wages these days, someone cheaper who has a very good work ethic, solid foundations and the ability to learn quickly; this can present a compelling case. But in any case, if you go for a level 1 Help Desk position (big companies are always looking for people coz turnover is fairly high) and stick that out for at least a year (AT LEAST A YEAR - I'll repeat that for the Gen-Ys amongst us ),then you'll have some experience for a better / more interesting job. Then if you want decent money in a few years, go study hard and get some big end Cisco quals and get experienced on a range of security appliances and theory.
  3. Nice work keeping it upright during all of that btw. My least favourite sound in the world is that SSSSHHHCCCCCCCRRRRRRRRR noise of fairing plastic sliding down bitumen. And as you slide along nearby, knowing that even in a minor crash every second that sound goes for is another thousand bucks at best.... SSSHHHHCCCCRRRR - Kaching! $1000 SSSHHHHCCCCRRRR - Kaching! $2000 SSSHHHHCCCCRRRR - Kaching! $3000 SSSHHHHCCCCRRRR - God no make it stooooop!!! $4000 *shudder* the sound haunts me in my dreams Ever tried standing up after a crash only to realise that you haven't actually stopped sliding yet? Pretty funny to watch - so i am told.
  4. What about the new carpark that is just a bit further south and across the road from the BWCP? http://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=q&hl=...mp;t=h&z=17 It's the grass area on the bottom middle of this old google map. It's not grass now, it's a car park that must hold 100+ cars I would think. Last time I was there I didn't notice if there was any gate to stop after hours access - I don't think so as its a free public car park. More space than the Labrador boat ramp car park, which fills up at night with people going the The Grand for a drink. And only a short stroll to The Boardroom... errr if anyone needs to go to the bathroom. BYO Latte.
  5. Hiho, I recently got a V35 coupe and I'm looking for a reasonable performance mod that wont sacrifice too much in the way of engine life. It would seem that a supercharger would be the simplest answer (albeit not the cheapest!). Does anyone have a recommendation for a particular unit and/or a recommendation for an experienced workshop in the Gold Coast or Brisbane area to fit it properly? (I'd like to use someone that has worked on this engine if possible... they're gonna need a shoehorn and some experience to squeeze a SC into that engine bay..) Also, would you expect I'll need to chip it at the same time for custom fuel mapping? Has anyone else done any of this stuff to a V35? Cheers! Scott
  6. Hi All, I just wanted to let everyone know of my recent positive experience buying an import from a Sydney motor dealer. It's always a bit of a shark field when buying a used performance car (like a mine field, 'cept with sharks) Anyway, I live in QLD but found a place in Sydney called Nagoya Motors that was advertising around the net. It's owned by a russian family (odd eh) and I dealt with a guy there called Alex. Nagoya imports a variety of jap cars - all models of Skylines, stageas, RX7s, Delicas, Lancers etc, and does the compliance work for a lot of them (including the V35 Skylines). I bought a V35 (significantly cheaper than they are going for in QLD and with some sick Works rims) that was freshly imported a few months before. Mah V35 After driving it back to QLD and going for roadworthy, they found that one of the rear tyres had a 5mm bald strip around the inside that wouldn't pass RWC. And one front tyre was pretty shagged on the inside too. Obviously bad alignment/camber for some time coz there was plenty on the outside of all tyres. I called Alex and asked if he would like to contribute some money towards a new set of tyres considering it was going to cost me a lot more than expected to reregister the car in QLD. (Bear in mind that the deal was done 2 weeks prior, and my money was long ago in his account.) Not only did he immediately transfer $400 to my account, but he also sent me a $500 3yr warranty (one of those 3rd party national warranty things) in the mail so I could try to get a intermittant power window motor fixed with it. I KNEW about the window before I bought the car and wasn't worried about it. So basically a dealer that I have never dealt with before, who has no reason to think I would buy from him again (given that he is interstate) has gone well and truly beyond what was legally required, with zero hassling from me, in order to make me an extra happy customer, and cut his margin by a further $600 or more in the process. In my experience that sort of ethical behaviour isn't very common in business at all, and virually unheard of in motor dealers. So if you are looking to buy an import in the near future, I highly recommend Nagoya Motors - go have a chat to Alex. If he doesn't have what you want in stock he can also order it to your spec. http://nagoyamotors.com.au/ I'm happy for anyone to contact me to verify this story, given that I haven't been on the board long. Scott.
