is that price with base excess?

sshhh... you're blowing our disguise - SAU, the street racing crew... cops think we're only forum

turned out it wasn't a head gasket... it was a coil pack all along, just a different one... but here's the thing: When it initially started misfiring i tested each cylinder and found it was first coil pack... so i replaced it, it was alrigth for a day but then started misfiring again and I (idiot) just assumed it was first one again so I tried doing replacing everything on first cylinder; injectors, sparkplugs, loom, ignition module, did compression test... then when i was really desperate i tested each cylinder again, and found out that first cylinder is not misfiring anymore, but it was 6th that time... so i replaced 6th coil pack and now it's running smooth as... try these steps for your car: 1. when the car is running try disconnecting each coil pack... when you disconnect a working one car will sound even rougher, but when you disconnect a faulty one it will stay same... that way you'll find out which cylinder is misfiring... if all of them are it's probably fuel pump 2. try replacing (in order of most likely in my opinion): - spark plugs - coil pack - fuel injector - ignition module - loom 3. if it's none of these do compression test, but as many people already said, head gaskets are rarely an issue let me know if you have any question... i've just been through all these steps recently so I might be helpful

nah, i think cops are street racing too

Without diets, bras and hoons ACA would practically have no stories... it is really in their interest that we have negative image in public.

...in the first post: And I didn't even bother looking further posts.

I see I'm just pissing against wind again... just because I have a different opinion than the rest of you I'm about to get savaged by everyone. But then again I'm not trying to force you my opinions... if you feel the need for it, go ahead and invite neil on your cruises. Might not turn out as a bad thing, but probably wont turn out as a good thing either. Either way I'm way to busy to go on cruises, so whatever you decide won't affect me. BTW, I fail to find the part of my post you deleted... looks exactly like the post I wrote...

Like it or not, this wont end well, he's just trying to lure all your cars to one place so he can defect them one by one, I find this part particularly hilarious: You're making it sound like these are some sort of negotiations like between two countries. SA police doesn't need and doesn't want better relations with us. They just want all skylines off the road because in eyes of them we are all hoons, even those of you who you call yourself "mature members". And that's all. Cooperating with police wont help a tiny little bit, if anything it will make it worse. I dont see point of cops in organized cruises, because we all know that there's no hooning going on on organized cruises anyway, so the only other thing cops would do on cruises would be handing out the defects, and believe me there would be plenty of them, many of them "justified". Defects will always exist and I'm probably the only single person on this forum that has put up with this and manages to live with it and get own with my life. Fortunately neil is the only cop I have bad experiences with and I found most other cops quite nice... but I'm pretty much done with neil.
-
I'm quite happy to work and cooperate with police... but not with neil. I think i made myself pretty clear that i was defected for stuff that didn't exist, which was later confirmed by guy at regency, and not to mention all the abuse i had to take from this guy. No, but sorry, I'll pass on this. I'm not bad mouthing him, just setting the facts straight.

No thanks, I'll pass.

lol, nah... get/borrow a 2nd hand one...

yea, oem ones are actually more expensive than splitfires... but if there's nothing wrong with existing ones just keep it stock... -

+1 -
WTB: rb20 (or any other that fits rb20) upper radiator hose in good condition.

I'm pretty sure rb25 coilpacks wouldnt be any improvement over rb20 ones even if you were able to put them in, which im sure you cant.
-
^^ that might be it... hopefully im not too late

heh, not really looking forward to that... it that's the case i can just bin the engine... its getting really hopeless and im even considering getting rid of the car... list of things i already tried: - replace sparkplugs - replace coil packs - replace injector - replace ignition module - check connections on coil packs and injectors as i already mentioned it's only on 1st cylinder, because if i unplug coil pack or injector on any other cylinder it gets even worse... one fact that might be helpful is that is started misfiring shortly after i installed walbro fuel pump, because old one was stuffed. other than that... no clue... tried absolutely everything that could be causing misfire except compression leak... can you also recommend me any good mechanic in Adelaide for this situation that wont charge me more than car is worth to fix it?
-
yea... nissan ones are just crazy expensive... i might go with working second hand ones, but i just found out it might not be injectors that are responsible for misfires... sorry for making this a topic btw, just really short on time. mods, feel free to merge with wtb topic. do you also have igniter module? thanks btw
-
does anyone have r32 rb20det igniter module?
-
ebay from us. i got viper alarm that costs $800 here for $250... not sure how much it would be know cause of weak australian dollar, but still worth a try...
-
so the problem just got even weirder... the last possible suspect was fuel injector... so i had my mechanic to take it out and clean it. after that i started car and it was running perfectly. but then after 5 minutes it started missing badly again... so i unplugged the injector to check contacts, plugged it back in and car ran smoothly again so i took it for a spin again and after driving for couple of minutes it started missing again. usually starts in 2nd gear after 2,500 revs, but not while idling, no matter how high revs... so i unplugged it, plugged it back in and again car ran perfect for short time. After plugging injector usually car runs smoothly in 1st gear, in 2nd gear it starts stuttering a bit at 2,500 revs, and then same in 3rd and 4th and then after minute or two it starts misfiring badly again. i just dont get it cause injector connector is firmly secured with the staple-looking thing...there doesnt seem anything wrong with connection because i tested it with multimeter...
-
i urgently need new rb20det injector. None of nissan stores have them in stock and it would take about 3 weeks to get it but i need it by next week. None of second hand ones i tried work and i dont want to buy another one just to find out it doesnt work. and as for aftermarket... i dont have $1k... this might belong into wtb thread, but i think its unlikely any of you guys have one... but if u do that would be great
-
true, but thief wouldn't get really far without exhaust and engine badly misfiring, lol yes, I know... there are tow trucks too

does rb26 cam cover fit rb20? I wanna get clear cam cover, but i can only find the rb26. im planning to get engine head and spark plug cover resprayed, organize all those loose wires, do some extensive cleaning, get some stainless steel pipes and then maybe braided hoses... anyone knows where to get some of that stuff?
