Hey guys,
Just got a question regarding caster settings. I've been doing quite a bit of research and from what i understand it is positive caster is when the wheels are pulled more towards the front of the car. From this I would understand that both the left and right wheels will need to pull towards the front of the car for both to have positive caster.
Now the problem is, my cars left wheel is pulled to the front (front wheel is more towards front of wheel arch) although my right wheel is pulled more to the rear of the car (wheel is more towards the rear of the wheel arch). According to my readout from my last wheel alignment my caster is +8.0 for the left and +7.5 for the right. I don't understand how it can be +7.5 on the right when my wheel scrubs on the back of the wheel arch and the left scrubs on the front when turning right.
Now i remember when i got my caster rods inserted with superpro bushes, one of the offset bushes was set so the wheel comes forward and the other was set so the other wheel comes back. When i questioned wholesale suspension about this they said it was normal and thats how its meant to be. So i believed them but now i'm having second thoughts.
What are your thoughts on this. Is my caster wrong and should i get it corrected or is it normal for one wheel to be positive and the other negative even though the wheel alignment says positive. (Maybe the machine can't determine if it's positive or negative???)
Cheers,
Michael
