  1. out of curiosity have u done this to ur car and thats how u know about the harmonic balancer bolt being a different size??? Is there any number stampings that would set it aside from the rb25 crank??
  2. oh ok, well regardless, the r34 turbo that im getting is coming in the package deal along with everything else, my turbo has blown an oil seal so it need replacing anyway, the engine is going to be run in for a fair while and not flogged so i can keep my licence so the turbo doesnt have to perform wonders anyhow. Just drive me from A to B. I dont want to lose my licence again
  3. oh true, yea i had an idea about the plastic type front wheel minimising spool characteristics, but as for the size well was unsure, mine is a series 1 r33, so an r34 turbo maybe slighty larger but im thinking its not going to make a difference though.
  4. ok so anything else? i will try the harmonic balancer bolt one first.
  5. anyone got any info towards the issue??
  6. I have bought a RB26 crank along with some other goodies, was wondering if i can check somehow that the crank is a real gtr crank and not just another gtst crank??? We looked for some numbers but couldnt really see any. Any help?
  7. Am wondering what the difference between the 2 is. My turbo seal has blown and an r34 turbo is one of the items in the cart. What would be the advantages of going for an r34 neo turbo as appose to another r33 series 1 turbo? I heard the r34 turbos have a plastic front wheel?? And ceramic exhaust wheel? Also heard the r34 turbo is bigger in size than a hiflow r33 turbo can anyone confirm this rumour? Any help on this matter would be great
  8. I just got my box stripped down and a price for things to be replaced inside the box comes to a total of $1360, they are wanting to replace a fair few items inside but all that i used to do was crunch shifting into 4th gear, seems to be a list as long as my arm. Anyone had one fixed up or rebuild b4?
  9. shall do, hopefully i can driv eit there, motor is still out of car though, block is getting bored, honed, decked n o-ringed, plus porting head, cams are gtting reground, so when thats done, i can put it back together, although afew custom things have to be done. Thanx
  10. ok, well i was only planning on running the motor like a grandma until i got the extra $$$ to buy the power fc and avcr. II understand that 1100 isnt expensive but i sorta stretched myself as far as i could with this build to do the motor properly whislt its apart this time. Would like to know more about the gtr injectors not being able to be run with standard ecu though!!!
  11. Hey listen i will give u the small run down, basically i have got a RB26 crank and rods for my engine rebuild and also 86.5 Ross forged pistons, i got a GTR intake plenum, gtr fuel rail, gtr injectors, gtr reg and pump, N1 oil pump, HKS 1.6mm headgasket and 256 cams. Now basically my question is, am i going to be able to put all this together and still run the motor on the standard RB25DET computer?? The reason i ask this is because i dont really have the money at the moment for an aftermarket computer so all i want to do is drive it round, not wanting to make any power on it or anything i just want it to be driveable and do no damage to the engine, i will have to run the motor in for awhile so im not going to stuff anything up in a hurry, since the compression will be altered via the crank, cams, headgasket and machining the combustion chamber in the head i believe this will affect the computers way of controlling things a fair bit??/ ANYONE have ANY ideas?
  12. could u see both plenums working fairly closely in performance? Well regardless, I have invested in a package which has the gtr plenum so thats the one im stuck with. be it a good thing or a not so good thing.
  13. basically i bought a hole bunch of goodies, one of which is a gtr plenum, where putting a spacer plate between my head and the plenum to match the studs etc, was wondering if this would bring on results as good or better than the greddy plenum for the rb25? I heard the gtr plenum has fins that guide the air into each cylinder as the greddy one doesnt. can anyone confirm this? I also got gtr fuel rail, injectors, reg and pump too. amongst lots of others
  14. Im building a RB25 motor currently, the power target is 400rwhp. I want to know, do i need to upgrade my oil pump for this power level??? Whether a 1.6mm headgasket is going to be too much with 88mm ross forged pistons, gtr crank n rods? How to i get the dipstick out of the block, coz its in there tight as? I want to rev the motor too 8000rpm max so is there any strengthening in the head i can do like valve springs etc?? Any other info u think may be helpful, please add, thanxx
  15. very true, new motor isnt worth destroying due to some inexperience on my behalf.
  16. basically, on the factory plenum there are a heap of sensors etc, on the greddy plenum there isnt, if imnot using the standard computer for example the power fc, do i still need all these sensors to be connected?
  17. Hey guys, im building up an Rb25 which has a greddy forward facing plenum, was disconnecting stuff off my standard motor whilst trying to take it out when i thought to myself about all the damn plugs that are on the factory plenum. If im running a power fc, with the greddy plenum, what do i do with all these excess plugs? Im totally confused. Is the simple answer.....dont use them? i just thought that would look rather untidy?
  18. rite, that makes sense. I didnt know there was a TD07 and TD08 until recently so wanted to research on whether or not it would be benificial getting one for my target but i dont think it will be.
  19. yeah the td06 is a goer, just gotta source a kit now, money is in the account so now its spending time, nearly got the motor out to pull it down and find out wat went wrong.
  20. hmmm yeah, seems all the talk on the TD series turbo is the TD06, very rarely is the TD07 mentioned so thats why i thought i would follow it up.
  21. started to pull things off the motor yesterday, only spent 3 hours on it but got a fair bit done. will keep people who are interested posted
  22. interesting, i always wondered what the 12cm, 8cm meant as apppose to .87, 1.06 etc.
