to be honest i havent found that out yet but i dont see why there would be a drama, a mate of mine has gtr crank n rods in his rb25 and he got big diameter pistons, bigger than 88mm.
well, rb25 still stanped on the engine number is what i was referring to. I am building the motor to suit me, not anyone else, i cant compare with the sub zero boys producing big kws in there gtrs n supras so dunno if its going to stand out much.
well i just feel that, ive got an Rb25det, i know afew people who can help me out with bits peices from japan, so i am just going to stay with this motor, although it will be maybe 2.6 or something. I want RB25 cred no RB30
so did anyone manage to get any info about the TD07????? Ive heard of TD07-25G, which would be better suited to the RB25 i would imagin. Any info would be interesting
why use smaller diameter cylinder for high performance engines and a bigger cylinder diameter for smaller hp? and is 400rwhp in the 88mm category or 86.5?
so gtr rods will fit on the gtst crank? Sorry for the questions, as dumb as they may sound i honestly have no experience in this field and want to know alot b4 i build my motor, i dont want to build it and then find out that i could have used something else etc to get a better result.. thanx
Was wondering if anyone knows how far u can bore out an rb25det block before u reach the unsafe mark? IE. 89mm bore etc? Is the rb26 and rb25 cylinder bore the same diameter its just the stroke that makes the difference in capacity? Just curious as to how far u can go b4 overheating may be an issue due to not enough meat between cylinders or even cracking the block may be a drama? any help is appreciated
fair dinkum? Bolt in is a nice thing to know, oil pump change isnt a drama, since the motor will be out of the car anyway. Any idea of the cost of an r33 gtr pump to suit the gtr crank?
does anyone know the process u go through if inspected for a cat and its not there? Or did someone say 10k and someone else repeats what they read and so on?
Hey i was wondering what machining needs to be done to an RB25DET to fit GTR crank and rods? Is it a big job? Is it worth the hassle or would it be better to stick with standard crank, building motor to push out 400rwhp so would it be a benifit for my power level target?
no i wouldnt imagin any damage would occur if its done correctly, 7-8psi is nowhere near the capabilities of the turbo/internals. Considering others are upto it, ie fule filter and sparkies, timing etc
