  1. lol@chef, but a true statement. Cat backs are what people do to get the noise. Dump pipe and front engine pipe and cat section is the most important part.
  2. I seen ON BAIL r32 GTR make 691 rwhp and the block is now cracked in that. Dunno what the reasoning behind it is, he still drives it but just not too hard. happened at jamboree from memory
  3. i too have done the same thing
  4. yours holds 13psi at 7000rpm???? Mine will go to 13 then bleed back to 9 by 7000rpm
  5. ticking sound like an exhaust leak>? Check dump pipe nuts tightness. turbo side and front pipe side
  6. way to go melv. Didnt know u were getting some stickers etc. Looks good champ
  7. to be honest i havent a clue champ. I have blocked that hole off but now am having trouble with the bov opening by itself on full throttle just from to much pressure in the intake pipes. Seems to be releasing when it feels like it
  8. no, i did this mod along time ago, i run 13psi and noticed the difference straight away. Boost to me came on harder and the blow off valve venting sound changed to a harsher noise good mod.
  9. ok, so no-one knows about my query?
  10. Hey i have a 93 r33 gtst. I have stock intercooler and bov etc. Was trying to increase the boost with my boost controller and something wierd has begun to happen, I have since turned it down and run 6psi, but it seemed to build upto 14psi boost then if i watched the boost gauge on full throttle the boost would go down to 0 and then back up again and there is a psshshht noise from the engine bay like the BOV is releasing the pressure>? Is the standard bov spring not able to hold the 14psi in the intake pipes? It really does sound to me like it was releasing the pressure out the BOV.
  11. not working. unfortunate coz i wanna see it
  12. oh u beat me too it dstylez.
  13. lol@steve. Hehehe, matey VL's dont have a BOV from factory so the sound ur probably talking about it compressor surge. If u got a stock BOV on ur R33 take the vacuum pipe off the top of it, block it off so the manifold is sucking in unmetereed atmosphere and bobs ur uncle u have a vl sound. But this means ur bov isnt working and compressor surge is occuring. Not recommended but hey if u want the noise go for it!!!1
  14. yeah good stuff, i thought it might have been an addition from the japs when they built the motor with its aftermarket goodies. thanx peoples.
  15. Hey my mate recently blew up his R33 engine. Noting the basics its a Rb25 block, GTR crank, GTR rods and 92mm pistons. Anyhow when he took the pistons out there was a cutout up the side of the piston and when u look down the cylinder bore from the top where the head would normally sit there is a squirter nozzle there which appears to squirt oil onto the underside of the piston. My question being, is this a standard item on RB engines? We havent seen inside one b4 so wouldnt have a clue. The cutout in the piston is on the same side as the oil squirter like its been cut out to clear the nozzle? Anyone got ideas?
  16. bummer these dont seem to last long on the market
  17. Nah i havent but ur right, they must be doing something right, the secret is getting the power to the ground and with a time of 10.8 it seems these people have done it. Many 300+ hp skylines on the road but little have a reasonable time to show as the motor gets the attention and not the part that matters the most.....tyres.
  18. Yes i agree 100% with everyone, ur knowledge on modifications and things in general is much appreciated by all i beleive. Its good to see that most of ur replies go into great detail also and not just 1 or 2 lines. I sent u a pm recently thanking u. 2 cheers from me mate
  19. nah i did this also. I disconnected it from the bov side, put a screw in and i had no dramas. Car ran fine and had the flutter sound, i just recently connected it all back up as i am a little over the noise, it sorta makes out that u have something u dont, if u understumble what i mumble.
  20. was a good outing, i quite enjoyed myself. Some corners were a little surprising but seems everyone came away unscaved which was good.
  21. i'll be out.
  22. The other items first like exhaust, intake, fmic. High flow of standard turbo would be a good option for u. www.gcg.com.au do em. Bolts straight back on and away u go.
  23. they didnt happen to be bbs rims? Ive got 17inch bbs wheels and have many times dreaded coming back to my car and seeing the bbs screw on cover missing. i would be a very very pissed off person. sorry to hear dude
