sydneykid is the king of guru's Holy moly u know some shyte -
depends on how many mufflers i guess, if u got one it will sound just nice. 2 is abit quiet. U will definitely notice a big difference in power gains. With full exhaust and more boost. Be careful...
-
to a commended exhaust shop and get the system there. May have to get a stainless muffler from somewhere else but where i got my exhaust done they were really good. Dont need to buy bolt on kits from japan. But personal choice i guess. I would bother with full stainless but thats me

modding type M bumper for FMIC
sweetr33 replied to pooski's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
straight forward process from what i know. I am also going to be doing the same. Havent got any pics dude but seen afew and in my personal opinnion i reckon the m spec front bar with the middle chopped out with a front mount looks better than some aftermarket front bars. -

Stopping Your BOV From Leaking - A How To
sweetr33 replied to Jay95R33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
yeah i have changed my mind, i did this mod again out of pure boredom at home, and have been monitoring it, i notice its more snappy onto boost, and not asmuch throttle needed to continue motion. Liking the noise too. -

i got a stethoscope too dude, i have used it all over the motor. Majority of the noise is from the front timing cover region. I at one stage was thinking maybe the timing belt was hitting the cover? But Then it sounds abit too metal like to be that. Not big end i dont think coz oil pressure is excellent. At least for now it is. -
Hey all just letting u's that dont know there is a street series round 2 on at willowbank on jan 10th. U can race there also for the price of 32bucks which gets u and a pit crew person in with as many runs as u can get. I will be heading there to try and improve on my times. Hoping for a better than 2.3 60 foot launch. 2.3 60 foot is the regular launch for my car and 13.6's-14.0's ar achieved at between 100 and 104mph. Gearchange speed is a factor with final mph with me. Anyhow im hoping for a 13.4 or around there. Might see some of u there. I got a maroon r33 with 17 inch bbs rims on front and gold stocko 16's on the back

i got a similar noise. Its very noisy on cold start up and is marginally there once warm. Its only there when a slight tap of the throttle is picked and then the revs die down. Weird sound and i have had afew mechanic listen to it and tell me all different things. god luck -
Stopping Your BOV From Leaking - A How To
sweetr33 replied to Jay95R33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Well i cant say i am a fan of this idea. I tried it myself and u can notice its doing something different. I noticed when adding slight throttle from say a cruize situation the accelaration is upped as the bov cant leak excess air back into the chamber. This is i think a not so good thing. Didnt notice any differences in performance when in full throttle position though. I went to the track with it blocked off and on my last run unblocked it, taking it back to stock and i ran .4 of a second quicker. Not sure if the 2 are related but i am not convinced this mod does anything sufficient -
well your cars would be demons on the street but on the track suffer from wheelspin problems by the looks of your times. I only made 206hp at wheels on dyno. Although it was hitting boost cut but ran a 13.56@100. Mile an hour down on some peoples slower time runs which means you have better potential. I must admitt though with a shitty launch it really shows on your timecard. I got a 2.098 60" so thats where the time came from. By the way i was running 215/50/16's on stock rims on the back with 20psi.

MY skyline starting to piss me off!!!
sweetr33 replied to howhow82's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
im having troubles with mine after only owning it for 2 months. *Fuel tank leak *Slipping Clutch *About to spin a big end bearing *Blue smoke blowing from engine(oil ring or valve stem seals) *Interior fan no longer works it only done a 60000klms and thus shat is going wrong already. Cant afford to have these problems so i know how ya feel buddy -
thanx for the advice. 420 aye hmm i was going to pay more than that. Looks like i will have to shop around some more. Could try buying it off daiken directly?? See what happens
-
ok thanx for the tip about the difference between heavy duty and excedy. I will definately opt for the excedy clutch and will just put up with the soft feel. I mean aslong as i can start having fun without the clutch spinning im happy. I can get it for 450 on its own. I am gonna fit it myself. Is flywheel lightening a good investment?? I mean i am gonna machine it as u do with a new clutch but what involved in lightening?? Is it just machined a heck of alot more than normal?>? And what are the pro's n cons?? thanx for the feedback so far peoples
-
Ok people, i have been looking round and getting prices for clutches for a while now and the daiken excedy clutch has been mentioned afew times. I am in need of your opinnion. Are they a decent clutch?? I aint putting out any hp figures to jump over the moon about. Just an r33 gtst, when the clutch goes in the boost will be upped to about 12. Its got a pod and an exhaust so thats it, well engine wise thats it. I am loking at front mount and other mods in the future but for now a clutch that has a firm peddle would be nice just like the one thats in there at the moment but it slips so cant keep it in. Any advice would be much appreciated and im on the gold coast also. So any places with good deals would be great
-
well cant say i have stopped thinking about it since i got told the news. The fella has to make up a report and is sending it away tomorrow(monday) as the insurance company isnt open on weekends. and i just wait on a reply from them
-
rotormaster and pac performance were awesome to watch. Massively quick cars. Pacs mx6 on its first pass in the day did a launch and then shut off but managed a 1.0 60 foot which as u people would know is really chomping. massive potential left in that car.
-
Well i got some bad news for me but i thought i would share it. When my motor is cold it makes a slight knocking sound when the revs pick up just above idle round 1000-1200. u can only really hear it if u got the bonet popped and u are infront of the motor. Anyhow i told one of the mechanics i work with about it so i showed him the noise and he said " dude your about to spin a bearing". So that wasnt great news but then he said it could be the balancer or a heat shield. ANyhow i had to take my car to this mechanic place coz of a warranty thing and i got him to listen to the noise aswell and wizz bang he said the same thing. Stuffed if i know what im gonna do. I mean it could last for a while but then it might not, engines are unpredictable as im sure u all know. It sucks coz i have only had the car for 2 months and i already have troubles. Combination of little ones and big ones. Maybe i just bought a dud. i can only just afford the car as it is. I tell ya i just wasnt meant to have an easy life.

Hp and 1/4 mile figures for auto r33 turbo?? any 1 got any.
sweetr33 replied to RNS11Z's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
well i am also ashamed of my hp output but am happy with the way it goes. r33 gtst 93 running 12 psi, cat back 3 inch, k&n pod i made 203hp at the wheels but ran a [email protected]. Car seems to feel faster than the 203hp but thats what i got and oh well. Friends got an auto 33gtst. Havent raced him yet his is standard with a 3inch cat back. It looses traction nice n easy of the mark. -
look out for 15ICR. Purple r33 GTR from subzero. Awesome car, sounds like your car mr33?? But i heard it go and have heard a hp fgure which i aint gonna disclose coz i dont know if its for real but the numbers are up there. Well presented car. Many congrats to subzero for creating such a weapon

guess so. Not really comparing apples with apples though. Like saying i bought a TE cortina and put an injected 5 litre out of an au flacon in there and i beat Xr8 au falcons......silvias with rb's in em are quick or there is potential there to be quick. I think when u race a car u should somehow find out or know what mods it has b4 baggin it out if u beat it or kept up with it. Not saying that u guys are baggin but thats just my 2 cents worth...goodday
-
Well people, funny how people that have say s13 with rb engine say i beat r33's. Mine isnt very modified. R33 gtst bit more boost exhaust, standard dump pipe and a k&n pod and its not too bad for what it is. Rolling start i havent really raced many cars and it may only be the 33's in your area that arent modified much but rolling start my 33 goes quite well. Had a 2nd gear roll on with a friend who has a s13 with rb20 with a front mount, pod and more boost and we were even in 2nd but didnt get to race into 3rd or 4th. I mean thats only one RBS13 and one R33 but im sure there are quick ones of both types of cars out there and it really comes down to personal preference.
