Hi Guys, Another alarm install question... I have installed the boot release solenoid to enable electronic boot release in my car, so that i can wire it up to the alarm and have remote boot! But.. i tested the wire from the alarm that is meant for remote boot (red/white) with the multi meter, and it only seems to hit about 0.6 volts. I wired up the relay and it doesnt seem to be working. I tested the relay with the red/white wire and ground, and it doesnt flick the relay over- no sound at all. This makes me think that the output from the alarm is not powerful enough to flick the relay. Which means no matter what i press on the alarm remote nothing will happen. Is there something i need to do to amplify this power enough to power the relay? Thanks guys- my head is swimming with electrical crap that i dont understand enough to do any more! Im stumped! Ryan

Hi guys, Have bought an actuator... now i cant figure out how to wire the thing in? My instruction booklet is crap, so thats no help. Anyone done this before on an R33? Do i need a central locking control unit as well as the actuator, or just an actuator on its own? Cheers Ryan

Hi Mate, I go away to work on the 4th of Jan, do you know where else i can get one? Heres another one for ya... my alarm automatically arms after 30 sec, is there a way to connect the alarm to my turbo timer so that after the car turns off, it arms automatically? Otherwise, is there a way to wire the alarm so that it can be armed while the engine is still running? Thanks Ryan

Thanks for that mate, where can i get actuators from? Do i need one for drivers and passenger side, or will the drivers side automatically unlock the passenger side as it usually does when i unlock with the key? Thanks, sorry for my newbie questions! Ryan

Hi, Sorry to drag up old news.. but what is an actuator? My R33 already has central locking, but not keyless entry- which is what i am trying to install... But in my door there are only two wires leading to the door locking thing... one is black and one is white. But when i splice my alarm keyless entry wires into these two it does weird stuff- the passenger door unlocks, but locks again in about 1-2 seconds and the drivers door does nothing. Anyone explain that one?

Hi all, I have been having heaps of problems with my window motor/regulator on the drivers side. I am unsure what the actual problem is, but i am considering ripping everything out and rebuilding with series 2 gear... will this work? Here is what i have done so far: 1) window was not winding up or down- banging the door would let the switch work 2) eventually, it stopped working at all- i changed the regulator and it worked for a while... 3) now it winds up, but not down. I used my old regulator, took the shell off and press the reg buttons themselves on the little motherboard. This is the only way the window will work. 4) through all of this time, i can only wind the window down 95% max- if i wind it all the way down it gets jammed and i have to pull everything apart and get to the actual motor to push the teeth back on track so the motor will work. 5) window is very slow and now doesnt wind down at all at about 30% down, unless i push it to help it on its way. I have taken everything apart, looked at the motor and reg and its wiring, and cannot see anything that should be causing a problem... im out of ideas! So my next step is to consider an upgrade to S2 gear- i believe the Series 2 r33 window motors do not have that crappy little black regulator box that always screws up on Series 1's. This company and its 'entrepreneurs' has recently been in a world of trouble and many of them are in jail for being part of a 'pyramid scheme'. Multi-level marketing is one of the more dodgy forms of business, and if you disagree, then you are living in a bit of naivity!

Hey guys, After watching a skidpan session at Mt Cotton (was cruising past and saw a couple of R34's), i am keen to have a go and learn some stuff at one for myself! I am a complete newbie to drifting and any kind of crazy 'advanced' driving, and expect to be pretty shit... is there any requirement knowledge/experience wise or am i right to jump in and give it all a go? Hey guys, well i understand a bit more now about mafia's position. Thanks for the advice- a coke lid is an awesome idea haha. Doubles as a great pipe cap and to prove my undying trust for the coke brand I will be interchanging the stocko and the atmospheric- i just love the sound of the HKS atmo BOV. When i start doing track stuff in the near future i will be putting the stocko back on. only a 10 minute venture so not the end of the world. Cheers all Ryan

Hey guys, I am in a bit of a similar situation. I go to court on the 15th of August for a speeding ticket- the ticket says 89 in a 60 zone, but the sign on the street where the cop got me says 70... so the points, fine and everything are different for the two situations! Thats the first thing i wanted to contest, but it sounds like they may just change it and say thanks for pointing it out. The next point is.. the damn cops got me going up a hill at the end of a lane merge where i had sped up to change lanes to avoid having to pretty much stop and wait for the traffic that was next to me. That seems a bit rough. For those of you in Brisbane, they got me up that hill just past carindale on Old Cleveland Road- where there is a big shoulder on the road that i think even has an entrance lane for sidestreets. And the third... the cop car was hidden behind a sign and some bushes, and was not in the slightest bit visible to the vehicles oin the road. Just a bit more evidence that speed traps are there as revinue raisers and not as detterents. Does anyone have a copy of the rules and regs for police laser usage as i have been told that the car has to be visible, and they cannot set up in an area that is a) on a hill and b) in a place where the driving environment changes (lane merge from 3 lanes to 2). I have also been told that speed traps are only supposed to be used in known blackspots and high accident areas! Any suggestions? Hey guys, I just bought my first skyline a couple weeks ago- white R33 gts-t. LOVE IT! So far have put a 3" dump, hi-flo cat and 3" stainless HKS catback exhaust, 19 inch rims with 225 front and 245 rears, a trust front bar that is yet to be sprayed and looks pretty bogan, new suspension and a HKS SSQ blow off valve ('gasp- not an atmospheric' seems to be the general consensus around here, but i like it so go bang it haha). Next mods will be an Apexi SAFC and probs a few minor engine bits and bobs. not a race car yet, but i use it 700-1000km a week and pretty much everyone on the road pisses me off so i want it to be a fairly solid car! Anyway, will be taking part in the next cruise organised so i can meet a few people. There seems to be a heap of skyline owners from Alex Hills/cleveland/redlands area on here- i live in Alex hills so would be great to know some locals- maybe have a few drinks at the alex sometime! Anyway, catcha round! Ryan

Hey mate, Your engine is not a rotary (RX7 is rotary, yours is an inline 6 i think), and manufacturers specifications are flywheel kw, which means your car would have to be 230-250kw at the wheels STOCK to be breaking this rule. I think you should be ok mate! Good luck

hey guys, I used an ebay seller called F1bodykit who is also in melbourne. $275 plus $110 shipping to Brisbane for the Trust front bar that i bought. the guy's english was a bit lame, but overall the service was good and the product is pretty good- i fit it myself in about 30 mins. Have yet to get it painted, so im one of those bogans who drives around with a grey bar on a white car Hopefully tuff33 will help me out there Cheers Ryan
