Std spark plug gap too big for higher boost. Pull the plugs out and gap them down to about 0.8mm The spark gets blown out at higher boost hence the reason why its breaking down under full load. The spark jumps every were at the end of the plug causing it to not fire correctly. Do this and you will be ok.

^+1 for questions above.

Skyline R33 Clutch
payback21 replied to danny14's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I picked up a nine puck ceramic clutch and pressure plate from Japanese Performance Center S/H pretty cheap. It wasn't too pricey and it done the job for me doing hard launches when i had the RB20 in boosted up. Check em out JPC Otherwise from that, get a new one similar to what i mentioned above. If you can afford it, a twin plate would be nice. -
There is a couple of relays near the ecu. That would be it. Plus when you turn the car on and off, it will tick. If its badly ticking all the time, it sounds like the relay may be faulty. I think from memory they are green in color and located just above the ecu.

Hmm I think you will be going to get it back on the road again. It doesn't look very good. The seal panel is mashed, the rear wheel is bent in so the rear cradle must be bend and the roof looks pretty bad too. It will take alot of work and money to get it back to how it should look.

Did you bleed it from the top bleeder on the master cylinder first before doing the slave cylinder on the box?

Hi Guys, im still here and alive. WOW what a night. A very long cruise i must say but one that was very different going to most suburbs of perth's . Very interesting. It wasn't everyone's cup of tea by the sounds of it but i think most cruisers really enjoyed it. Well done Mel and Martin for the planning of the cruise. Was a pritty descent turnout, thanks for sure. As most know i bailed out at Mundaring Weir meet point and by the time i got home and was in bed it was about 1.30am. 3hrs later i got up to then drive to Albany to pickup Allens 4wd as it broke down last week traveling down to Albany. A 4hr drive trip with trailer down there and a very slow trip on the way back doing 70 km/ph taking 6 hrs to get back. I was one fried out unit when i got home from Albany. Driver fatigue big time. I think i must of done at least 1000km + of driving in a 24 hr period with stuff all sleep. Yesterday was rest up day and that's why i didn't get the chance to logon. Plus i wanted to spend time with wife Marianne and young bloke Lincoln. Im spewn too. I missed the SAUWA cruise on Sunday but i needed to recover from all the driving i had done. O well next time. Sorry to let ya down on this one guys and not come. Im sure the cruise was a good one tho. Ive just seen the pics. I will put some pics up tonight when i get home. Dont have them with me at the moment. Nick sorry to hear about your car mate. Some people just have no brains sometimes. It was really stupid with that guy in the commodore tailgating everyone. What time did the cruise end up finishing at? It must of been very late... BTW, Drunk dude, your a bloody idiot. (Thats what the ad says for drunk people aint it) There was quite a few people upset by you and your actions. Bring a spare brain when you come next time.

Power Steering Hoses Make Ticking Noise?
payback21 replied to DanShirts's topic in General Maintenance
This sounds like one that needs to be visually seen to see what the problem is. It is very strange. Take it to a power steering mob and see if they can give you a visual inspection on what the problem could be cause by. See if you can get some free advice from them. Worth a shot. -
I think you may be right on that one.

Top one is Transmission Control and it requires a 10amp fuse. The bottom one is nothing from what my chart says.

I think the Stagea should be accepted but thats up to the organizer. Will see how i go for this one.

Electronic boost controller or manual? If its electronic it will have both a vacuum and pressure line. From the turbo's nipple or taken from intercooler piping, one line goes to boost controller under bonnet and from the boost controller a line goes to the waste gate. Now for the vacuum line which goes to the controller in the car, it t's into the intake manifold which will have a vacuum line somewere to use. Some electronic boost controllers may be different so dont quote me on this. Use it as a example.

I have a mate that has a high flow turbo on hes rb20 and it cranks 28psi not a problem. Its crazy!! The car goes like hell.... Im not sure if you can get the same results but it should give you what you want.

WOW. Yer pritty crazy ay. It has taken my interest, thats for sure. I do like the use of Methanol
-
Cheers for the link. That was very helpful explaining about mixed methanol injection as a boost cooler. Interesting...
-
Cool, i can understand doing that for street reasons. Running straight methanol does make the cars exhaust fumes real strong making your eyes water and nose sting. LOL Many times i remember that smell of methanol. Its one of a kind and its not like any other fuel to smell. I have herd of people trying to mix methanol and water before but i have never seen it yet. Personally i would just use straight methanol and not bother mixing it. You would need some big kick ass injectors to run it on straight methanol. I would be keen to know a bit more about water methanol injection. Gona have to do some research i think and learn a little more. BTW apart from me babbling crap about methanol, i did answer the question in my first post. If he is mixing the fuel, he is more than safe to use rubber. Just think, we use rubber fuel lines, yer... so it should be ok to use it for what he needs to do.
