  1. Different dynos, different days, different fuels, and you had bigger inlet pipes etc domino. That explains most of the difference! Other than that the tunes are fairly similar
  2. Cheap wheels are sometimes fine for posing around on the street, however if you race on them, be prepared to possibly die or stuff it in the wall. Having said that the number of fakes I see on the dyno that are basically buckled square from hitting tiny ruts in the road daily driving etc is frightening. There are no standards in this game of knock-off wheels, just the temptation to make them as cheap as possible to maximise margins. Thats the price some will pay for vanity.
  3. DW Pumps are similar external dimensions to Walbros. Domino, give us an updated when you can. Interested to hear your thoughts as per driveability and overall behaviour
  4. DW pumps are by no means an easy or neat fit to the fuel basket in the GTR. Go HKS pumps all the way.....
  5. Sure is.....I can mail you a map to fix that!
  6. I think our Alpha 12 build starts in around three weeks looking at the schedule Cant wait, should be fairly serious. Good luck with yours Phat33, keep the forum updated!
  7. No
  8. Remember 1000Nm at the tyre is much, much less at the engine. Reason? Engine torque is multiplied by the driveline ratio and wheel size to make rear wheel torque that the dyno measures. The reality is that with 1000Nm the engine, transmission, and driveline would fail very quickly....
  9. It will be interesting indeed. From memory we were the first to run an 8 second pass out of an R32 - R34 GTR in Australia, looks like we will be the first to do the same with an R35. There is some very special development and technology going into this car which will make it stand apart from any other R35. Obviously we excited to be working with such a professional level engine system, and results will be forthcoming at Slips discretion
  10. Modify them to block off the leak port thats designed to limit boost on the stock blow off design. Once thats done, they are as good as anything I have come across
  11. Modified standard BOVs - the very best
  12. And thats why the viability of drag racing will suffer here in SA. My 2c
  13. I think you will find a lot of it was because no one was really going, and the events were losing money. On Wednesday night import meets out there they were lucky to get 15 cars sometimes, and that was with plenty of radio advertising etc. Something will need to change for someone to invest tons of money into getting drag racing going again here, because as a business case it doesnt look too good.
  14. Good one, you will have fun I am surprised there arent more entries from here - Collingrove is one of those things like Coopers Beer and rancid old Pie Floaters that simply must be done at some stage if you are a South Aussie. Very rich in Motorsport heritage and tradition that place
  15. Was much better when he had a Subaru....just sayin
  16. http://www.willallracing.com.au/devevo.htm We have done several EVO X coil over installs, have them in the 1:15s at Mallala consistently, and have the right gear for the job - ie corner weighting system and an understanding of how these cars handle.
  17. Make sure you have the latest firmware in the AP Then after a flash or two it should be fast providing you actually have a V300 map
  18. Thats a week out from Legend of the Lakes Slip...where you will be taking the final points for your victory in the AWD Turbo Challenge Open class for 2011, hence I didnt think you would be at the SAU Nationals
  19. Martin we had stock calipers and AP J-hook rotors (several sets) previously. The Endless Mono-6 system was developed for their GTR Super Taikyu program and takes lessons from their ALMS racing in the USA. I do believe HKS used them
  20. GTR may not be a Supercar (seating position is too good as is visibility) but it hands most of them their backside Personally I use Supercars as braking markers....no more
  21. New Endless Mono-6 system was awesome at EC As for the water? It turns to steam before it really even contacts the rotor so there is no evidence it has even been there apart from a very cool rim (or at least not red-hot) when the car comes back into the pits.... Will check on the piston area with Endless.
  22. We are looking at going with a couple of cars - R32 and R35 GTR However it would be worth it alone just to see Handbrakes awesome car again and the rest of the Mercury fleet. Tough stuff these things
  23. We never failed an N1 pump in any of our 10,000rpm+ drag engines......however I still like to use the stock GTR pump over any of them, for some good reasons too!
  24. Great writeup on both your cars in the latest Motor mag guys. Modified GTRs showed the rest of the field the short way home. Both you blokes get tremendous value out of your cars, using them just as they should be
