  1. Yes this is unfair The real issue is that when it comes to the condition of the track all three of these 'sports' are diametrically opposed. One is about putting rubber on the track to form a witness line of grip to improve lap times The other is about wheelspinning as much as possible on the line which removes the witness and peens the aggregate in the asphalt to reduce overall grip and slow lap times. And the other is about digging holes. Drifting can be a great sport - I helped bring it here back in 2000 - 11 years ago - organising (helping to) Australias first ever drift day at Mallala and introducing it to the general public via Denzos purple people eather on the pages of Magazines. I am not anti drift. The actual concern is that the track is at least a second or so slower now than it was back in say 2002 - 2003, but mainly and diabolically so in the wet. The grip level in the wet is nowhere near where it used to be, and understand I raced there competitively in the wet back in the 90s, so I know. If its Turn 7 where Chef put it in then that tends to be the 'glass corner' of that track, the very most slippery part of the track in the wet, with a 911 going into the wall there in the same spot at a PCSA Supersprint. This is also the only other place on the track other than the Start/Finish where cars are held stationery for any length of time during competition events. All cars good or bad can and will leak oil on the track, however working on the quality of the vehicles involved can go some way to reducing that. That was my point. No more, no less Anyway Simon, the plan for my new drift car is to smash you (not literally like drive flat out into you Pickering style) out there
  2. Dont sweat it Luke I have seen a lot worse than that, its only a love tap, nothing major
  3. This is a sign of how good this community is, mates helping mates and being true to their word. Good work Its only a car and it will fix easy and be better than ever
  4. Ban Iron Chef for being soft and stacking it and Heslo for not posting pics Maybe we could pull the fuse and turn it into a drifter now? (All jokes Heslo - like I said your car is bloody nice)
  5. Dont get me wrong there are or have been some good drift cars that I have worked with or enjoyed over the years and there are obviously many more I would not know about. CTS, Pickerings, Cootes lad, Boliger and one or two others are notable properly engineered cars or are close to it. Too many absolute boxes of turd 'hangin sliggidy an sik skidz n shit' going on though in 2011. I have refused to dyno these kinds of cars on safety grounds before and continue to do so. Bald tyres, breather hoses vented onto exhaust manifolds, oil pouring out of sumps etc. and so on. I will not damage my $170,000 dyno on a sloppily and lazily put together heap of junk worth $5 Needs a good scrutineering clean out and drift could come good again Regardless we may as well talk about Drift not much more information is forthcoming in this thread
  6. A better option would be genuine high level scrutineering for the cars I had a so called drift car on the dyno last year - and when I turned the fan on the bonnet (cheap cracked fibreglass imitation carbon thing) actually blew off across the room. It was taped together and then went out and raced at the track like that 2 days later. I am old enough to remember when drift cars had front and rear bars on them and cable ties were for tying cables not holding the car together Doesnt one of the multitude of SA drift series run out at Tailem Bend now? Anyway that sucks Heslo, have always really liked your car
  7. Lets seem some pics Drifters do that track so much damage with their terrible leaking tacked together cars its fast becoming a joke in real racing circles
  8. I saw it done Trissy Same wanker EVO driver that wrote 'Factory Pilot' on their own rear windscreen
  9. Great build list! But why a straight cut gearset?
  10. Just make sure the police dont come looking for you again The fact that I had already tuned the GTR was considered enough sabotage.....
  11. Who is this young you speak of?
  12. A great shot here shows how big an EVO X is compared to a Fly Boy Engineering R32 GTR. Thats 4th place and 6th place outright rubbing shoulders
  13. Its a prototype for our WR330 EVO X performance pack. Everything my EVO X had plus more power - lots more power - 280awkw and some nice styling touches. An absolutely fantastic little package. You might recognise the rims And Keir, yes, made the wrong call on fuel, which ultimately cost him position.
  14. Sebs run -
  15. As the title states its a big thumbs up to Sebastian Lip who at his very first attempt at the daunting Mount Alma Mile track managed to get into the Top 12, get into the Top 3, and then win the Shootout for a P1 with his R35 GTR. For those that dont know Alma is a 'balls to the wall' mile climb up a 17 degree grade with some 180km/h tip ins Here is an in-car video to show you what fun it is Out of 150 cars the Willall crew got (outright) 1st 4th 6th 10th 18th 19th (me!) Not a bad weekend, and congrats to Seb
  16. Sudden death is the format You need to make the 12 to get into the shootout, then turn it on from there
  17. Thats fine, no problems, what I want to say is - Congrats to the 3 Willall Racing cars and drivers in the Top 6 and of course P1 overall - all customers, all fast, all 100% reliable Andrews R32 is a weapon, and Gavins EVO X shows exactly what can be done with an 'automatic Lancer' King of the hill and P1 for Willall Racing though was Seb in his R35 GTR, a fantastic drive for a first timer in a fantastic car, cool under pressure. As good as it gets. Kudos to Tristan, hitting a cone is gutting, but nonetheless part of the sport. Great drive.
  18. Just a word of advice, you dont win an event like Alma by 'default' Seb won because he was bloody fast all day and run 4 x 44 second runs. That is much easier to say than it is to do
  19. Fireboy you should have LC2 I dont know of any LC1 ADM GTRs Go here - http://www.willallracing.com.au/wr450.htm and have a look at that launch by forum user LSX-438 in his 2009 ADM GTR - Its LC2
  20. Your car should have LC2 standard being an ADM delivered car. Only JDM and early USDM had LC1 Hope that helps
  21. They never factored in folks fitting tractor turbos 20 years later...
  22. You will make - some - more torque down low adjusting the cam gears, however its like pissing in the ocean to top it up. You might change the level, but you wont really notice it. Your turbo to engine to tune match is wrong, simple as that
  23. Baby Expo....or cars....tough choice that one
