Its an easy analysis after watching the video Dunc, that neat little tip in wobble to settle the front is now gone, as the front doesnt bite, which then causes you to lift the gas, then step back on it, which unsettles the rear, which also doesnt bite. No grip - time for fresh Michelins

Looks the goods now Slip!

Obviously wanted something a lot softer and slower than GTR - and the Aston will deliver that in bucketloads Never seen the attraction in those things, but there you go it takes all types...

This is not about Willall - it about the Cobb AP product which many Australian companies sell and some can even tune. We can just bring the news earlier since we are on the development team. For 35 owners information is power If you want my advice on the transmission design issues then start a new thread on the subject and we will go from there.

As some of you may know we are in the fortunate position of being an Alpha/Beta development partner on the AccessTuner R35 GTR tuning program. There have been some amazing advances in the software over the past 12 months with some serious improvements to the actual base code of the Nissan management system being written in to allow big gains in both refinement and power production So far there have been some amazing updates to the tuning of these cars which simply didnt exist before - - Proper data logging and measurement of engine Knock - Rewriting of the GTR boost control system to use RPM vs Wastegate Duty Cycle - Redesigning the internal load calculation to run big 1000cc injectors without upsetting TCM torque signals - and this latest effort, boost correction with both gear and throttle position Specifically engineered into the code at the request of some of the track guys this new parameter in the GTR system allows much better chassis balance mid corner, where previously there would be 15psi of boost at part throttle and at three quarter throttle, now the boost and the attitude of the car can be regulated with the pedal position allowing much better transition of grip to slip. We have tested this on the dyno so far and look forward to testing on the track next week when time and weather permits. These features will be available to all Cobb Accesstuners once Alpha and Beta testing has been completed

So Is Anyone Buying Their R35 Something For Xmas?
Martin Donnon replied to Snowman's topic in R35 GTR
The JRZs were a simple decsison - we get to share date with Forged Performance and GOTO Racing this way, and I really dont have the time to chase coarse tuning the chassis, thats for when I was a younger bloke -

We will kick it off with our Willall development GTR receiving some nice new presents all aimed at improving this cars already super quick lap times. First up a nice little mod to the factory blow off valves. With the stock inlet pipes already being nice cast pieces, these little bungs stop the factory BOV from pushing open over 1.2 bar boost pressure. Its a $5 modification to replicate the performance of a $500 aftermarket part Next up was some nice JRZ adjustable suspension from Sharif at Forged. Who wants to be bothered re-inventing the wheel? Not me, so using a known, proven, and lap time capable suspension solution like JRZ just kind of makes good engineering sense. They are also 5lb lighter per corner than the factory parts As I put in the WR35WS thread this is the pedestal mount for the brake water spray system. This allows the driver to turn the system on and off by flicking the switch which is mounted within reach of the driver in a strapped in position. This doesnt sound important till you are out on the track feeling around for switches Factory GTR seats are not the best for the track so we went to a locally made Velo composite seat for the GTR mounted on a Bride rail. This seat is an FIA legal piece and has the head restraints I feel are necessary for serious race use, holding your head stable in the case of an accident. A nice functional and effective piece Last but not least a session on the corner weight scales. We use an Intercomp system - and no those numbers arent from the GTR, they are from my EVO, which is a lot lighter. Still we were able to dial in some excellent cross-weights in the GTR but using the adjustable JRZ suspension. All thats left to come is the Aeromotions wing -
Catastrophic Transmission Failure In A 2900km Stock Gt-r
Martin Donnon replied to GT-Ricer's topic in R35 GTR
We developed the transmission fix for this problem over 6 months ago There are a couple of members on this board (three actually now I think about it) that have these (as well as many other) updated GR6 repair parts put through their transmissions before they experienced any failure. One of them was a brand new Australian delivered GTR with less than 200km on the clock. He wanted to avoid the chance of failure from day one, hence we removed and strengthened his transmission -

This is the little spring clip that comes adrift in the right of picture. When this happens the transmission turns into a timebomb. Its not a matter of 'if' but 'when' -
Catastrophic Transmission Failure In A 2900km Stock Gt-r

Thankfully the E55 wasnt a GTR last time I looked! What seems to have happened to your friends car providing the mechanical crunching etc. is correct would be that its lost the main clip holding the front wheel drive output in position. When this clip falls off - and its fairly underengineered so it can indeed happen anytime without hard driving - this is the resulting carnage that occurs as the transfer gear walks forwards - We make a repair part that replaces the weak factory spring clip with a properly designed four piece competition clip that is locked into position and can take thrust in both directions. We have installed these parts (WR35CC) in a handful of Australian GTRs that want peace of mind, as well as fixing this poor guys problem in the US -

Catastrophic Transmission Failure In A 2900km Stock Gt-r
Martin Donnon replied to GT-Ricer's topic in R35 GTR
So much for that claim anyway....its not quite accurate. In some instances when a transmission is replaced the TCM (Transmission Control Module) can be replaced, and it needs to be mated up to the ECM (Engine Control Module). Its a 'mating' routine they run on the Consult III...similar to when a transmission is replaced in a Holden, Ford, etc. No dark Supercar art required, just simple Plug and Play modern vehicle repair. Pulling the transmission out isnt very hard, so the dealer shouldnt have too many issues, its around five hours work -
Catastrophic Transmission Failure In A 2900km Stock Gt-r
Martin Donnon replied to GT-Ricer's topic in R35 GTR
If the transmission hasnt been stripped down and inspected - which is outside of Nissan Australias expertise - then they will not have a clue as to the nature of the failure or whether it is catastrophic or not -
Depends on the IAT (Intake Air Temp) vs Fuel and Ignition corrections in the mapping you get. They are quite aggressive stock, hence your references to needing properly simulated road speed to get genuine power readings. This isnt so much the actual heat buildup, but rather the massive dive in power that occurs at higher temps as commanded by the mapping. This is a typical Porsche/Mercedes FI strategy they have opted for a conservative approach over many years If you dont tune for VP109 there is very little gain at all UNLESS your current tune is already belting against the knock sensors, detonating, and pushing the management towards a permanent low octane condition, which can occur with 'canned' tuning. One needs to be careful adding VP109 untuned to a turbo engine at any time without measurement on a chassis dyno as it will enlean the engine around 0.25 lambda at full load courtesy of its oxygenation. Keep away from it unless you are tuned for it

The sale is a hypothetical one John, with the R32 being more of a museum piece than anything else as it simply doesnt get driven, only occassionally on the track. It may well end up in the Birdwood Mill If you have a need to go fast on a track then buy an R35. If you need a car for anything else from scratching that gentlemans 'trouseur challenged' itch with the fake snake crew through to cruising caffe strips at 6000rpm in first gear, there are better alternatives

No problems, when I go back into work in the new year. Just to let you know Mark, I have been reverse engineering factory management - and that of Porsche in particular - for 20 or so years now on and off, its not a new hobby I just decided to get into last week. If you want to know something re the management in your 997 Im happy to tell you what I know, but your dyno figures will be similar to those I have mentioned. Thats nothing to sneeze at for sure. Not quite tuned GTR territory, but not bad either Its always impressed me how the more that folks spend on a tune the less they need to see a properly calibrated dyno sheet or 'proof of life'. Some numbers knocked up in an Excel graph or a simple +60kw +100Nm warms the cockles of the heart, but most of these results are at best....optimal, and mainly guessed There are some Eurocar tuning results of mine at http://www.dwtuning.com.au, but sadly I have not updated it in some time Hopefully this is not in contravention of forum sponsorship rules, simply an example

The GTR gearbox is fine, and easily fixable Much simpler and cheaper to fix than a Ferrari transmission I would expect

Whilst not in the business of disclosing our full IP on the tuning side, we do use the most advanced tools available for editing the raw native hex code back up with a top of the line OLS real time emulator

We took it easy at the track Munro, Keir did some shakedown on the suspension settings of the Lambo, I was teaching the missus how to drive the EVO X. When I was coaching her I pulled a 1:19.5 on the Driftbox, which I was pretty surprised with given the staggering heat out at the track. That combined with a 60km/h blast furnace head wind down the chute (knocked 5km/h off the poor old EVO) kept the day short and sweet and here is the temperature in the pit shed....

A dyno tune is always going to be the best way, and there are a few of us that can do this for the GT2, at least one I know of in Sydney, One in QLD, and of course us in SA. You will find that with a 'canned' flash tune on a GT2, your 440kw claim at the crank will turn into around 310kw at the rear wheels, or around 25kw at the wheels over stock
