  1. Yep Im burning....the interweb got me again
  2. This thread is a little dumb, the two cars are not even comparable - and Ive driven both. The Ferrari 360 is a lovely little pose car. It looks 'nice' though not as nice as a 355, and performs adequately but will still struggle to match a current SS Commodore in a side by side run....so you dont buy it for performance, as it really doesnt have much. Still its a Ferrari. GTR on the other hand is the Ugly Betty of Supercars. Its big, bulbous, has no cred to the Latte set, but will wipe the floor with anything you care to benchmark it against at any venue in any conditions. Still its a Nissan. As they say - Fiat for show, Datsun for a pro
  3. MGS they probably do a nice 'canned' mail order tune for the GT2. Nothing beats tailoring the the Motronic tune to the car on a dyno though, having said that there are tuners (particularly overseas) that cant match our mail order GTR tune with their custom efforts so I see where you are coming from.....and you cant be a total wanker, your car isnt red, doesnt have a dancing pony on the bonnet, and I bet you dont have a Puma Schumacher edition driving suit and booties on while performing the mobile chicane on track days. These are the qualifications of the true wanker
  4. MGS I am surprised that they made you send the ECU to them. The process you are having performed is a conventional bench read/write on the Motronic. There are several companies (depending on which state you are in) that have the necessary hardware to read the PCM on the bench, email the program across to RS, where they can modify it and send it back. Interesting they didnt get someone to do this for you
  5. Send them over and we will fix them for you Nick
  6. Dont be sorry mate, Jim Richards would have been sorry, the poor bugger, enters a new GT2 in Classic Adelaide and it went out before the first stage with turbo failure....and no parts in Aus to fix it. Sorry not to see him race and a wasted entry fee
  7. Ive been a member here since 2002 or something ridiculous like that Time to put some back in
  8. As part of the community spirit we would like to offer SAU Club members 10% discount on dyno runs and tuning at Willall Racing. Remember we have a brand new state of the art Mainline All Wheel Drive dyno so no dropping shafts on Stags or GTRs etc. Get your quote, then bring your card - 10% off Hope thats acceptable to the SAU Committee
  9. What he said (See above)
  10. They are if you are brave The Willall R35 drove out there with its road tyres on, changed to the slicks, set the time, had the road wheels bolted back on it and drove home. Pretty street trim (plus slicks if you didnt see them in the photo) if you ask me, but hey what would I know?
  11. That is true 9krpm Keir believes in the true Zen form of 'Obliterate your competition to conquer'.....hence he hid the keys from me The reality though is that I drew the short straw for EVOX development driver, and so hot was the track and 'off' from having the Diesel spewing trucks racing on it a few days beforehand that I couldnt get back near the 1:18.9 I ran at Time Attack. Kevin Weekes was also testing his Porsche out there and reckoned the track was about a second down for him (in the 13s)....all of which means I need to pick my act up next time I drive the 'big girl' R35, and the reality is I may not indeed catch the hare
  12. A couple of pics of the setup for the track day junkies -
  13. Old school TE37 has always been a favourite of mine over the years
  14. Here is the GTR ready to run, in 'as raced' trim with the 18s on it All effort from here will be focussed in getting the 35 to run consistent 1:12s without ruining its daily driven nature (keep air con, interior etc)
  15. Michelin 270/68 18
  16. Yes, actually Some say he can shift gears faster than the GTR and that VDC is only for bad hair days, all we know is - it was actually Keir Wilson driving it. No ring in pros for the day
  17. From the logging the GTR traps an actual 216km/h down the main straight (indicated 228 - 230km/h), with 195km/h turn in on the kink. Thats - fast - GTR out accelerates most any Porsche throught that zone, including (from the logging I have seen) genuine Carrera Cup cars
  18. This is the car on its wheels and tyres as run. The only change from street trim were the wheels/tyres and removal of the passenger seat. Other than that its exactly as street driven and on stock turbos too (till the GTR gets its xmas present!)
  19. A picture of the GTR in action on its 18 inch TE37s
  20. LSX-438 we have all those above mentioned features - and wish we didnt - to avoid the extra weight in the car
  21. We are very happy wih the time, and would love to touch that 12 mark in an unopened 35.....stay tuned
  22. Tomorrow probably Dunc, its a real weapon though now Fast as a lot of - fast - ie Sport Sedans and Carrera Cup + Development cars around there Have to thank you for your input as well! (Dont listen to Munro if he tells you R33s are the rave, its a distraction I tell ya!)
  23. At the Tolis drive day today using our latest Willall Racing setup in our R35 GTR we went several high 13s with a best of 1:13.82 Performance Box backed. We are quite happy because outside of the Gibson cars this would have to be the fastest Skyline thats ever been around there. SA Great? You bet
  24. As the title says the Willall Racing GTR lapped Malllala today in 1:13.8. A great achievement being the fastest production car + tyres and tune that has EVER lapped the circuit....these R35s are the go
  25. Dont listen to the 33 drivers Dunc....they are only trying to slow you down 33 GTR - 100kg = FUN
