  1. Reason I say this Matt is because AFAIK the Microtech doesnt have individual cylinder fuel trim control, hence 6 would be running the same pulsewidth as 5 and as 4 etc. etc. As for air distribution in an RB manifold? Generally 6 will receive LESS air than cyls 2 and 3, making it inherently richer. You will more than likely find that 6 has been running physically hotter than the other cylinders, due to the Skyline cooling system design, which has pushed it over the detonation threshold. Ie. it detonated to death, rather than 'leaned out'. I may well be wrong though.
  2. How about being nearly doubled by a Soarer.........
  3. Glenneys car is extremely well developed. I should know, I tuned the damn thing
  4. Thats a pretty strange thing to say?
  5. No, you believe wrong. The engine is FULLY stock
  6. If you had been there you would have seen....... Stock engine, little bolt on single turbo, some nice tuning. Thats all, nothing flash
  7. My shitter clocked 335rwkw @ 1.45bar, then 345rwkw @ 1.56 bar
  8. I will need to have a look at it for you
  9. The order is the hardest thing. Im still trying to work that one out! If you have special requirements though I will do my best to cater to them. ie. you are welcome to go on in the morning.
  10. That wasnt me....that was the editor Warren Mawson. Will pass on your thoughts though!
  11. Since you make constant references to others having too much money in your posts, I have done the right thing and contacted Morpowa to see if they could do you a 'concession' type deal. They are keen to help. Its sad, primarily because, a) you are supposed to be friends with your fellow SA forum members, and B) you think I give a toss. If I annoy you I am truly sorry!
  12. Which is? You have too much money if you fix your own broken car? Silly.
  13. What Commodores are they?
  14. You should be allowed to rebuild your own car........
  15. Knowing Mick though he will build it bigger, better, faster. Should be a crazy thing then!
  16. We flew in for a couple of hours and filmed it, before the rain came in, at which time we departed
  17. I dont know how powerful it was Matt, they had to rev it, dump it, rev it dump it, bog it, ride it, to even get the tyres alight. Then when it did, there was steam coming out from under the bonnet for minutes before it blew. Seems like a strange waste of a car that was struggling for power to me?
  18. Greg, Ill even give it a touch up in the afternoon for you. There!
  19. Make sure if you give us times Matt that they were on Radial Tyres, not crossply Street Tyres, 'ET Streets' or slicks. Apparently it ran 13.0 on the radials? Either way, let us know. Cheers, Martin
  20. Yes, you can have air fuel ratio included in the deal no problem. Those that want the probe installed for a run only have to ask. No problems at all
  21. Watch in-car camera with someone like Mark Skaife. He will often brake, while shifting 6th to 2nd. The concept behind avoiding compression lock is to put the car in gear at the correct speed. If you travel along in gear and take your foot off the throttle, whats going to slow you down faster the drag of the crankshaft, or the brakes? In fact regardless of gear, the brakes will ALWAYS slow you down faster. By rowing the stick into a corner all you do is make the brakes slow down the engine as well as the car. Stupid really, and capable of ruining your day quickly in a car like an R32GTR where the brakes are marginal. Its not a natural technique though, while downshifting one by one is. As I wrote in the column, go give the test a try, and you will begin to understand the benefits. Try the technique, enter some motorsport events, and use it in the real world. Believe it or not, this is the way that most pros stop.
  22. Pawley, let us know what you are having done, sounds really good. If you are in the throes of such a mod, consider the 32GTR management swap, then remap. Its the most ripper bang for buck possible on a 33. Done a few lately, and their fuel/timing control is greater than that achievable with a Power FC.....for well under half the money
