Did this mod last week and all seems good. Took it for a spin yesterday when it was 35 and seemed to go just as hard as it normally does. Anyone tried removing the coolant supply the the manifold?

Joeyjoejoe's E85 Tuning Adventutres
Bond replied to joeyjoejoejuniorshabadoo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I'm thinking i might have to have a go with E85 as the servo is only a few km away and the 33 isnt a daily driver!! I was getting it tuned with the United 100 on monday but had to cancel. I wonder if its worth it. -
Coolant pipe into Throttle Body and Manifold
Bond replied to PHaT MR30's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Anyone else bypassed the TB? I did it the other day but not sure if there is any difference.....cant see it doing any harm as it till gets pretty hot! -
If you read post carefully you will see where i stuffed up!!!! I hooked up the line from the pump to the fuel reg!!!!! OOOps
-
This is non skyline related but similar reg on my patrol. Around 3 months ago i burst a line from the fuel pump on top of the tank. I didnt have time to replace it then so i just pulled pump fues out and ran on LPG. Anyway i dropped the tank yesterday and fixed the line, hooked it all up and NOTHING. Pump still works and seems to have pressure but not running on petrol. There is fuel all the way to Fuel reg but when i took of the return line from the fuel rail there is nothing!! Pulled off fuel reg and there was some crap in there that looked like the inside of the old fuel line (I replaced all the fuel lines). I pulled that out but the reg is still not letting fuel through. Just hooked a guage up and there is 90PSI there. I also grabbed a FPR off an r33 (i think it was working) and still no fuel going past reg. Any ideas on what could be causing this???? The fuel filter is fine and the return line to tank is not blocked (tested) Cheers James

Unfortunately it will be a while until i buy one....i need to justify the money i spent on the 33 hehheheh. For the money, space and performance i think an SS or Turbo falcon are the go but i wouldnt buy one new. They are much better value after a couple of years. Get an injected LPG system on them and they will be cheap as ships to run.
-
I will agree to disagree. After the R33 i think i'm going to wait and get a 6L SS when they come down in price a bit. I have always owned wagons (besides 33) but you tend to pay a little more for them. I think the 6L commodore is a fairly good compromise for a big spacious family car and go alright with a few minor mods. Speaking of wagons i went with my mum to go buy a Ford e gas wagon the other day and to my suprise IT STILL HAS LEAF SPRINGS!!!! What joke!!! My Vp Wagon back in 93 had rear coils!!! She still bought it.

Phatboy your replies get better by the day. Leather seats and sat nav LOL Do you realise the Sahara diesel starts at $111,000 plus you have added a minimum of $15,000 worth of mods (thats on the cheap side). Thats around $126k.........are you really going to take a $126k 4wd anywhere even slightly offroad....i can just imagine your face when you put a nice set of scratches along the side and on your precious leather seats hahahahahaahah. Sorry mate but your a yuppy or a wannabe yuppy at that. I wish i owned the ARB store that you walk into after you buy the LC. They will see you coming a mile away......"Oh sir did you know you really should have a set of these....and also these....oooow you cant go offroad without this" HAHAHAHAHAHAHA love it. A LC sahara is a Toorak/ soccer mum mobile....hardly the vehicle for a lift and 35's!!!!! I cant say i ahve seen any of them in the bog holes around Mt Dissapointment and Toolangi recently. The 200 series LC is not really the offroad 4wd of choice as it has independant front suspension which is great around town but sh!t offroad (the tracks your talking about). Its very big and VERY heavy. Anyway when you buy it send me a PM and i will take you a few places close to melb PS: I run my muds full time on my patrol as they are not that bad on road. PSS: I use my snatch strap as a last resort and generally only for light bogged/stuck vehicles.....too much energy stored in the strap for my liking. Here is a vid my mate made from a day trip in 07. Nothing hard core by all means.....just notice the vehicle that gets stuck the worst and flooded inside....he is the only one with lockers Pat 1 Part 2
-
Phatboy you have just proved that you are a yuppy that wants a 4wd with all the add ons to try and impress just like the ongoing theme in this thread. You wont know what to do with most of that equipment and probably your mates that told you to buy them wouldnt know either. You want a hard core 4wd with twin lockers but then u want AT tyres ????? You want a safe 4wd for your family but you want to lift it and fit 35" tyres....you ever driven a lifted 4wd with big tyres??? Didnt think so. Why do you want a long range tank when a cruiser holds around 180l standard??? Where do u intend on driving??? Go out and buy a 4wd but leave it standard and get the factory bar and winch and u will get endless hours of fun and not get yourself into too much trouble. If you actually want real advice feel free to PM me. People actually get seriously injured and die from 4wd accidents and i'm not even talking about crashing. Ever seen what a snach strap looks like when it snaps with a shackle on the end/??
-
By the way Landcruisers still have factory diff locks as an option but its not available on the 200 series as it uses a lot of electronics with its traction control and a locker is not required..........there is more than 1 kind of landcruiser.

I'm not in the mood to argue with someone who sounds like they have never actually owned a 4wd or been off a sealed road for more than a km or 2!! Besides driving my patrol around the country i also work in remote areas of australia and all of our transport is via 4wd so i get a fair bit of experience in various makes and models as well as seeing what other people are touring in. I can tell you that a H3 is not one of them. Lockers are great but a tight LSD is better for some1 who rarely see hard to extreme tracks. An LSD is always active, hardly affects steering and is used onroad where you spend 99% of the time. Of the 15+ people i regulary go 4wdriving with only 2 have lockers. The only time they get somewhere i cant is up very steep rocky terrain where multiple wheels are off the ground at the same time, otherwise they dont do much except increase your turning circle. Lockers actually hinder your 4wd on sand as it promots the inside wheel to dig in and get bogged whilst turning. If you want to learn about the strengths of certain 4wd just go to any 4wd racing event (Outback challenge, Vic winch, alpine challenge and Various Nav runs) and 18 out of 20 will always be Patrols. Thats because they are just plain tough!!! Look at the power the Arabs are running through their turbo 4.8's on totally standard gear box's, transfer cases and diffs. Lockers tend to get inexperienced people into more trouble rather than keeping them out of it!!! Once your bogged with lockers engaged your stuffed. A much better option is a steel bull bar and a winch. The bar not only houses the winch but also lets you drive out of remote areas after hitting a roo at 100km/hr!! The winch gets you out of places when no one is around If you really want to learn a thing or two visit www.outerlimits4x4.com You will see what people get around in....defenately not H3's!!!! Anyway i dont think i can sway the mind of a keyboard swinging internet warrior. Have fun going bush and getting stuck in your H3. I can give you my number and i can some tow you out when you realise your lockers aint going to save you. Cheers Gee i ramble on and its not even on topic........My vote for Jap cars. Cant get any better when it comes to 4wd's
-
Phatboy you really need to do some research on 4wd because from your replies you know about this much ==>0 Cracking diffs ahhahahahaah thats the funiest thing ever. By the way the H3 is smaller than both LC and GU so if your after a large spacious 4wd you are looking in the wrong place!!! Also they make the same power but the 4.8 makes a sh!t load more torque and lower in the rev range which is whats important when 4wdring. Dont even talk fuel economy when speaking about petrol 4wd's. You cant afford the fuel then dont buy one or put it on gas. Locking diffs esential for 4wdriving HAHAHAHAHAAH your an idiot mate. I will take you up some hills you cant even walk up in my patrol that has no lockers.....only the best factory LSD on the market!!! Also lockers are a factory option on landcruisers just not all of them but as i said above they are not needed. Patrols used to have rear lockers as an option but their lsd is good enough.
-
Another status symbol (not sure why cause they are shit...just look at the resale value after a couple of years!!) You would not get very far offroad in a RR sport!!!!
-
A Patrol is far from weak!!!! What about the 4.8 petrol they are great and can be put on lpg.

Anyone who buys car for the image is just a pretentious wanker who is trying to make up for a lack of something. Buy a car because you actually like it....who gives a stuff what ANYONE else thinks......you are the one paying for it and you are the one driving it!!! People will not be impressed by you driving a car that is taking 70% of your weekly wage and making youy live like a bum in every other way! People have a go at me and the mrs all the time for driving cheap cars. Our combined income is excellent and could easily go out and buy a $100k+ BMW or Merc but instead i ahve a $5000 Nissan patrol, $10k R33 and she drives a 94 lancer! The patrol is just unbreakable and takes us everywhere on our caming trips and holidays, the 33 is fun and the lancer has cost me practically $0 in the last 5 years i ahve owned it. Why would i want to drive a car that lets people know how much i earn??? Its great when people look at you and think your a bum because of the car you drive and you find out they have to mortage their house to pay off a "Prestige" car that really does nothing for thier "image" I dunno i just really hate people who judge others on where they live or what they drive.......9 times out of 10 they are the unhappy ones who need to convince themselves that they are happy and succesful!! PS: I have nothing against Euro cars.....just very overpriced here in aus and not exactly value for money.

6 Speed Getrag Into A Gtt
Bond replied to Marco-R34GTT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I would look at getting a taller 5th gear made up. Might be a market for them if you get a good price. -
After a tune and 02 replacements its all about the way you drive. My 33 has around 250rwk and i can cruise and get around 400km from a tank. That number can more than half if i drive hard. The 400km from a tank has not changed from when it was under 200rwkw because when driving normally i'm not ever boosting.

I ahve lived in Williamstown for the last 24 years (just moved). I never drive my r33 there to visit parents or mates. There are so many cops in williamstown as it is the head for the water police and also they have had massive crackldowns on "hoons" over the years due to racing and burnouts along the beach. I ahve seen the mobile vic road roadworthy checks there many times at night with the help of the SES lights!! Anyway hope it was a good day!

I think thats whats in it. So that wasn't hollowed out?

PM sent again.

I Think My R33 Is An Ex Japanese Police Car
Bond replied to FLAMIN's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Taxi or cop car its done a lot of work. Ex cop cars may not do that many km but they have been abused and have probably been sitting their idling for most of their life!!
