  1. Ok Peter you've lost me now. I'm not using your example as anything specific, I don't actually know what happened to you. I'm backing up why it's just not feasible to just let people go on the internet to say whatever they want. Way to take it personally.
  2. Well to start with I'm not Kate. I'm still not really sure what your point is there. Because again, there's 2 sides to all stories and often here the shops don't get the chance to defend themselves either. People tend to get pack mentality on here too and get very high and mighty as if they've never made a mistake at work and there's usually no proof as to what has even happened. I'd still go on my own gut feeling rather than some of the rubbish I read on here.
  3. There's always going to be good and bad but there are two sides to all stories as well. Personally I couldn't care less what someone I've never met on a forum has to say. Go to a workshop, have a look at the cars they have there and see if you like what they do. Best way is to go talk to them and see how you feel.
  4. Someone who works at my building has a gun grey R33 4 door. I heard an RB rumble in the carpark!
  5. Times/scores?
  6. How'd everyone go today??
  7. Weeeeeelllll look who it is! Welcome to SAU!
  8. Gun grey 4 door R33 in Barton today parking behind a building just off National Cct.
  9. Parked next to a gun grey R33 at Gungahlin Lakes today
  10. We'll have to replace those things in the next few years, probs consider some paint as well. I haven't been in there in a while but garden at least looks good.
  11. Our townhouse is single title. I might change my mind down the track but while there are curtains and carpet in there still (from when we lived there) no animals. If I had vertical blinds and tiles then maybe it'd be a different story.
  12. The animal thing is a hard call. We say no to them in our town house and i know that is annoying for some but we've seen the damage that our own animals did to the place (cat climbing up curtains, ripping up carpet etc). I know there's a bond etc but it's a f**king pain in the ass to get anything back from tenants and we've been burned by tenants before too.
  13. Fairly sure we'd be doing something like this if we ever moved to Syd!
  14. Agreed. Bad weekend for it though, half of Canberra was down the coast or in Sydney.
  15. Also have the option of renting where you want to live and investing elsewhere. Plenty of ways to get in the market.
  16. Ahh fair enough. I guess that helps local businesses out as well. Was a long time ago when we bought our first home!
  17. Yep I get that and I don't know your personal situation (married, single etc) and it's a hard slog but people do it. Definitely easier when there are 2 of you! I know when we bought our first place it certainly wasn't easy. That does bite that first home owners doesn't go towards established houses. Has that changed? I guess the income part really comes down to the choices that you make in life though. I am far from low income however at times it comes with a lot of personal sacrifices and responsibilities.
  18. I don't believe that's what happened in the 80s for the time they removed it. Rents went up and costs passed on to tenants. I know that's what I'd be doing.
  19. Well that contradicts what you said earlier. The consequences of doing away with negative gearing will be quite high. It can't and won't be simply a step of just taking it away. I'd presume your rent would go up for one thing. As was pointed out, things are fair it's just that everyone expects a palace near the city for their first home. They also expect expensive cars and holidays. People now want everything.
  20. It's not intended to be mixed. Just the sense of entitlement blows me away. Why should someone give you an incentive to buy a house. Then you call people with multiple properties greedy. You have no idea how hard they may have worked to get in that position.
  21. I think it's f**king greedy expecting hand outs and incentives to buy a house. I love your generation Troy! Work hard, save up and use what you have. Life is all about the choices YOU make.
  22. I'm thinking we might need an ACT Nerd thread....
  23. I don't stand out as much now I don't have blonde hair!! Loud chick, big sunnies, red lipstick will usually find me lol Or just get Mat to point me out. I also noticed there's a cool looking event called Shindo 400 at the end of the year that I'll be dropping along to as well.
  24. Nope I don't. Too lazy to update something like that lol Well we normally have E85 here but just in case I've gone the flex setup. Car makes over 500 on 98 and that's more than enough for the street. That's awesome! Heaps of cool stuff going on up there too. I'll be up in a few weeks for WTAC on the Sat then SAU have a trackday on the Sunday so I thought I should go along to heckle!
