I have owned this car for 10 months, I have never had any problems with it. It has been serviced every 5,000 kms whilst i've owned it. I am selling the car to finance a project car. The car is pretty close to standard with a factory sunroof, a full 3" varex exhaust system which allows volume control, adjustable from the cabin. The car also has a cusco strut brace and 3Racing pod filter. It has just had a complete service, including engine oil, filter, transmission oil, diff oil, spark plugs, brake fluid, and fuel filter. The brakes are still roadworthy as are the tyres. Although the front tyres are approx 80% the rears are beginning to wear low and I'm happy to replace them before the sale. The car has a complete sound system with ipod interface, pioneer headunit, and 4x pioneer 6" 2 way speakers. The car is fitted with lowered springs (still legal height) and 17" avanti rims. It has a Viper alarm system including a built in immobiliser. The car just had a different thermostat put in it to reduce warm up time, genuine Nissan coolant was also used. The indicators which are normally mounted on the front bumper were re-wired into the headlight to make room for a custom/aftermarket front bumper. The interior has been fitted with series 2 dash garnishes, Razo shift knob and blue LED instrument cluster lighting. The aerial for the radio has been removed and replace with an aftermarket one (hidden). Unfortunetly I have only found time to fiberglass and fill the hole where the aerial used to be. I have done the same for the boot lock. There was a dint on the roof near the windscreen when I bought the car which I have also filled. The areas need only to be sanded back and painted, I have all of the required paints, primers etc if you wanted to do it yourself. Otherwise the cost for the work to be done is approx $450. Please have no hesitations to call me on 0423655342, preferably after 6pm on weekdays, weekends anytime, I'm also open to swaps for s13's and 180sx's FOR PICS GO TO http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/privat...677&trecs=1

G'day guys, I was looking to reduce the amount of body roll in my r33, and was wondering if cutting the springs would be sufficient (until I can afford sum coilovers of course). Is there any way of doing it at home? (ie: without special tools)? how much should I cut off? and do you cut it off the top of the spring or bottom? any help is much appreciated, cheers

How Far Can I Advance My Timing Without Causing Pinging (rb25de)
D33J replied to D33J's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
ah ok kool, umm whats the best way to test for pinging? basically i chuck it in 5th at about 2g and stomp it. but the thing is the vibration from the car (pulling a high gear) genrally drowns others sounds out, and by the time the vibration seases at about 2- 2.5 grand it doesnt ping. is that ok? -

How Far Can I Advance My Timing Without Causing Pinging (rb25de)

oh ok yeh I am running 98 octane at the moment fortunetly. thanks mate, basically looking for a ballpark figure. i think 5 degrees it is haha. cheers -
Gdya guys I've been playing around with spark timing. Is it ever acceptable for a car to ping, eg: instead of slapping it in 5th at 2g and stomping it I decided to eliminate wind noise etc and pull up the handbrake and let the clutch out on full load. I sarted using this as a test for pinging but thfound that even very close to stock timing (15 degrees) the car wud still ping. Is this an unfair test? how far can I advance the timing safely? 5 degrees? cheers

Gday guys I was wondring if any1 has advanced the timing on an rb25de, does the variable valve timing have any effect? will it make much difference? cheers

Gdya guys, the other day I was cruising along when petrol fumes filled the cabin. I had the window slightly down but I was sure it was unburnt furl. I had a look under the bonnet, no smell and no leaks. I then opened the filler cap and heard no hisssss. Does any1 elses make a hisss (the tank wasnt full might I add). Some of the guys at work also experience this petrol smell but i dont think any car shud do this unless somthing is wrong. Funily enuf my mate ran into the back of me recently on the RHR quarter (same side as the filler). I was wondering if the plastic filler hose was cracked although there is no visible leak.... please help before my car combusts lol.

Gday guys I found recently that at about 5g on full throttle the car starts to miss and hesitate. I pulled the plugs out and regapped them and it ran much better but the miss reapeared about a day later. Could it be coils? what can I do, please help.

Thanks guys, looks like I will leave the cat along... after all, like GTS4WD said, its animal cruelty lol

Hey guys, I was looking to punch the cat on my gts r33. I was wondering if any1 has done this? because the oxygen sensor will go spastic and the fuel mixtures will change. Basically im wondering if the car will begin to run lean or rich. Since lean is damaging to an engine. Richening is ok, cos it throws flames cheers
