  1. I have been living here for a few years but I have always posted photos in other threads rather than starting my own diary....until now. Today I went to the Toyota museum in Aichi - in a word awesome. I don't want to post too many photos as it will spoil it for anyone who wants to go. Here are a few selected photos. Rolls Royce Silver Ghost - I have loved these since I was a kid. Old School Pimping - glass hood ornaments with bulbs underneath. They have a small gallery inside the Toyota museum with about 50 of these on display. LFA. I used to like these but now I have seen one in the flesh and one with panels removed I absolutely adore them...so much love. LFA's scoops (inlet under side windows and outlets below rear lights) lead to these heat exchangers. No rice just awesome. The beast I got to drive home, in all it's 0.66 litre NA glory. It is manual though and I do like Daihatsu Moves.
  2. Gifu/Nagano is the best area for snow. Apart from the fact it is on Honshu (the main island with Tokyo, Osaka etc) it was where Japan held the winter olympics. I have been to 3 places and recommend these 2: http://www.snowjapan.com/e/resorts/resortdetail.php?resid=315 smaller place and I think it a bit cheaper than some other places, bench seat chair lift http://www.g-jmt.com/takasu/eng/ bigger place with enclosed cabin lift, my favourite of the three The other place I went to was still ok but the buildings (entrance/restaurant, rental shop etc) are separate and on the slope which makes it a hassle and time consuming to move between them.
  3. Up garage sell new and used, from marital aid looking gearknobs to complete turbos and everything in between. Just depends what stock they have in at the time at the particular shop you go to. I don't really understand their pricing though as some things seem quite cheap whereas others are overpriced.
  4. I was there yesterday and thought it was pretty warm - especially compared to a month ago. If you want a really warm jacket that is also cheap go to a UniQlo (heaps of them around) and buy a down one for about 3000 yen. I have had mine for 3 years. Ridden my pushy through heavy snowfalls and been snowboarding while wearing that jacket. It is awesome.
  5. Thread dig, but have been seeing a few of these lately. For awesome race car sounds see here :
  6. Welcome to the forums. Your Skyline looks fantastic, maybe a bit lower and it would look even better. Congratulations on the purchase.
  7. As you are talking about blue slips I am guessing you are in NSW. If so, you shouldn't need an engineers cert. for that swap (especially as it is a newer engine to older body) and the blue slip shouldn't be much of a hassle if the rest of the car is ok. Having said that you really are best off contacting the RTA (or whatever they are calling themselves these days) as murph suggested and checking. The rules might have changed and also I don't have any idea about the effect of the P plate rules. Logically you would think it would be fine...
  8. Welcome to the forums. Don't worry mate there are plenty of us with love for both Holdens and Nissans on here.
  9. Welcome. Your car looks great. Have a look at the standard kits, but also think about getting a secondhand GT35R turbo (can be found for as low as $1000) and buying all the associated parts (injectors, manifolds, intercooler etc etc). Because you already have a running car you can just wait for the parts to come up at the right price and when you have collected everything you need you will have a 300rwkw weapon. Much better than spending $1000 upfront on a standard RB25 setup and getting bored with the power after a short while.
  10. Neither the car nor the specific engine you are looking for but the guy doing this build might be able to answer some of your questions. http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showthread.php?t=257758&highlight=nissan+v8+vk
  11. Welcome, always good to see someone using a performance car as a daily. All the best.
  12. Maybe this is why so many people post topics of stuff that has been discussed before. Am I doing something wrong or is it a site issue? It came up with zero results for a search where the keyword was 'skyline' Thanks in advance for any help.
  13. FYP Josh you should buy this for the plates - http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showthread.php?t=266822
  14. I hear that this joint has a few R33s to choose from. Only kidding mate, good luck with the search, I hope you find a good 'un.
  15. Do you wonder about it a lot? Especially when you are in the gym, watching other guys work out?

  17. Swap for the cut off end of a garden hose?
  18. IBTL Already posted and being discussed in the Cars that make you hnnng thread (not sure why) and could just have easily gone in the videos thread.
  19. Check your supermarkets (including the Asian ones) for this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Konyaku I use it to replace potatoes/rice/pasta etc. It has worked really well for me. Has no taste on it's own - unless you get the coloured ones for example the greenish or green flecked one which has seaweed in it. I stick to the flavourless and let the meat/vegies and sauce handle the taste. Really makes you feel full even though there are almost no calories or carbs in them and they have high fibre. Also eat your last meal of the day as early as possible and if you can do some kind of physical activity afterwards. I ride my pushy a fair bit to.
  20. woops my post went all pear shaped.
  21. Queensland - cockroach
  22. On topic thread needs more pork pies and cockny rhyming slang... Cool John Dory bro
  23. I am biased so read my suggestion based on that knowledge. For the money you have I would be checking out VLs that have already had some money spent on them. Something that has already got a GT35R, GT30, GT35/40 based turbo on it, or has a twin cam head etc etc will be in your price range and with minimal work will get 300rwkw in a car that weighs less than 1300kgs. Regardless of what people might tell you VLs can be made to handle and with the interchangeability of later model parts you can choose wheels, seats and other bits and pieces as you please. Genuine Holden wheels are awesome compared to a lot of the aftermarket rubbish around nowadays. For example: In addition there is a mass of knowledge on VLs and they are relatively easy to work on. You could even get something like this http://www.calaistur...ad.php?t=264833 and you still have some money to play with. Yes cars like this may have some dodgy mods, this one has a locked diff and gauges on the bonnet, but that is why they are so cheap. Try and find an import with forged internals for that price.
  24. If you can, have a look at direct LPG injection too. I believe there has been a fair amount of work done with them on the Ford sixes. Direct LPG keeps the LPG as a liquid until it is expelled from the injectors. As it turns into gas it cools the combustion charge which lets you make more killerwasps. The current setup you have allows the LPG charge to turn into gas much earlier in the intake tract and the cooling benefit is lost. In addition direct LPG allows greater precision in the tune which again will allow greater power/better fuel efficiency.
  25. If you are going to go to the expense and hassle of doing an engine swap you should really consider something that is going to give a significant performance increase as the RB20 NA to RB25 NA isn't much of an improvement. Have a chat to Nick, he is a good bloke and is going through an LS1 conversion at the moment. Nick is pretty easy to track down, he only has one leg, a special arm attachment for his ratchet shifter and captains the fair ship Natro. Here is an artists impression:
