  1. Absolutely.
  2. I'd sell my anal virginity to own that car.
  3. If you are just trying to retrieve data I have a thread about it. In the end this happened: "DONE!!!!!!!!!! only took a bit over 8 days to scan and then another day or so to copy. Today off to try to explain to the shop including having to say about 4 or 5 times that I dont care about the data on the drive anymore just gimme money or another drive and understanding about 2% of the Japanese that was being said to me. Dont know whats been corrupted but so far a lot seems to have been recovered. Mini power tool data recovery 6.5 did the job although I reckon Disk Internals would have done the same job in about 2 days." Here is the thread: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/353567-windows-cant-detect-a-hdd-any-hope-of-recovering-data/page__hl__hdd%20recovery
  4. Thanks mate that is perfect. I can ask the sellers if this can be done to the hoists they are selling and it doesn't matter whether or not it is 3 phase. I had no idea it could be done but now that you have said it I guess the electric motors have high RPMand low torque with big reduction gearing so using a shifter makes sense. Awesome, most appreciated.
  5. This one has 2850mm between posts. http://www.ebay.com....ME:B:SS:AU:1123
  6. Thanks for the replies guys. Actually it is for Australia - to long term store cars till I come back. I read that the 4 posters are more stable for long term storage. Also the 4 posters support the car via with the suspension. Supposedly having the suspension unloaded for long a period of time is not a good idea. I have seen a few second hand, 3 phase, 4 post hoists on ebay go for about $500 but I haven't seen any second hand single phase ones otherwise that is what I would go for. Generator might be the go.
  7. Thanks heaps for the info. sounds like it is not going to be cheap/easy to fix.
  8. I don't know where else to put this so I will just leave it here. I am thinking about getting a four post car hoist to use as long term storage for a car so that I can park another car underneath. It seems that 3 phase power hoists are much more common so I am hoping someone can suggest a way of getting three phase power to my garage in order to raise the hoist with the car on it. It will then be left for a long time on mechanical locks. I don't want to spend the thousands of dollars it takes to get the power company to hook up three phase to my house (as handy as that would be for a welder etc I don't currently live in the house). There are also converters that can be bought which turn your home power to three phase but they are expensive and I don't know if they would be able to supply the reqired current. I was thinking of renting a mobile generator or something. Anyone else got any ideas? Thanks in advance

    Japan Post Pita

I have sent a bunch of electronic things through the mail (from Japan to Australia) including batteries and have never had a problem with everything arriving. I had them already packaged and when they asked me to write down what was inside the package I put computer accesories or souvenirs or something. However I did have a package sent to me in Australia from someone in Japan and it had a wooden souvenir stolen out of it. I say stolen because it was supposed to be a set of three and the other two in the package were fine so it couldn't have been an issue with the wood etc. It isn't a security risk they are worried about, it is because they are classed as dangerous goods, which is BS as there isn't really any evidence to support that these types of batteries pose any threat when not in use. Also keep in mind all the Ebay sellers in Hong Kong that send batteries (notebook, phone and everything else) to Australia. As far as the wax goes is it really worth the cost of sending it over? I imagine it will be reasonably heavy for the amount of wax you get and therefore relatively expensive to send.
  10. By the way for some reason when I put a whole bunch of torque on the pedals sometimes it freewheels (goes out of gear) and back in again by itself. Did it a couple of weeks ago and my toe dragged on the ground - little bit of rash and a sprain. Any idea why it would do this? Thanks in advance.
  11. Disc brakes plus falling snow equals noise plus perpetual motion.
  12. no worries mate. Back on topic:
  13. No worries mate, I always welcome suggestions on anything to do with Kei cars as there is so little info. around compared to VLs and Skylines. Thanks for posting.
  14. Nice idea Josh but like I said in my first post: In addition I imagine the AZ-1's engine would be harder to work on and as small as the Cappuccino's boot is the AZ-1 has none at all (has spare tyre etc etc in the front compartment). On a side note, the AZ-1 was actually made by Suzuki and the Cara's are extremely rare.
  15. Thanks for the idea but the MX5 is not a K car so not really what I am after.
  16. Make sure you read them or else...
  17. So awesome, reading it as I post this. I have heard a lot of talk about Hayabusa engines in them but this is the first one I have actually seen. Seems like the UK is the place to be for Cap engine conversions - they have a 13B turbo powered one there too, I have no idea what the go is with engine conversions is in Japan though. Thanks for posting Kristian, bookmarked and loved.
  18. That's pretty close to me. Let me know if you travelling around Nagoya
  19. Whereabouts in Japan are you?
  20. Should paint it pink with rainbows and unicorns on it. Should deter any would be thieves from walking down the street with it.
  21. Filled with helium for weight reduction.
  22. It's a shame you don't live in Melbourne. The scene down there is huge: beautiful beaches, sexy ladies and free tyres to do skids with.

  24. Just looking through the stuff you sent now elrodeo666. The article about doing the shakken yourself is awesome - I didn't even know it was possible. Thanks heaps for sending. Do you know if it legal to drive a car without shakken directly to a self shakken centre?
