  1. Ain't that the truth. I heard about this one guy who got a 25 and he got so many bishes he changed his middle name to bishes - Granddad "Bishes" Freeman
  2. ^this^ would determine whether to chop or not to chop Regardless of time and place:
  3. Consider buying a VL Commodore shell, will cost about a tenth of the price of an R34 and you should be able to get info and parts for the conversion a lot easier, plus a VL sedan weighs as much as a 180sx (about 200kg less than an R34 GTT). You could also go VB to VK but you will need to run a fuel pump and lines for the injection. Just an idea.
  4. I am interested how the wheel diameter difference affects the horsepower the dyno reads? I understand the skinnier tyres/lighter wheels but if these are equal and the only difference is the actual diameter of the wheels why would the horsepower measured change? Power=forcexdistance / time Force in the dyno is calculated by the accelaration of the drums (not measured through the spark reading for engine RPM) and the weight of the drums which is a known constant as is the distance (the circumference of the drums).....I am probably missing something obvious but I really don't see how rim size affects horsepower.
  5. But no Mac has ever failed in any way shape or form... at all... EVER. So who cares about repairability....
  6. If you do end up having to recover the lost data try Mini power tool data recovery 6.5 for free or Disk Internals (have to pay but should be much quicker). It takes an awful long time with Mini power tool data recovery (about a week non stop for more than 1TB) so be prepared before starting it. Although that obviously depends on the error/s and a bunch of other factors.
  7. Yeah I went to Akihabara on Monday, found some small android tablet things but apart from that not much. Thanks anyway.
  8. I just chuck it on the plants...doesn't seem to do them any harm, in fact I noticed that at my parents house the weeds that my father emptied coolant on did better than the neglected adjacent weeds which didn't get a watering.
  9. WTF I thought he was emo kid now he is suddenly the hard man....finally filled the doctors presciption eh? On a more serious note since when did it become cool to threaten, however impotently and indirectly, people and or their cars on this forum?
  10. Alienware and many other netbooks have dedicated graphics cards. The Alienware 11x has a dedicated card and an integrated card and switches between the 2 depending on demand. It also does this with processor speed, switching between a sub 2ghz and over 2ghz setting. Both of these features maximise the battery life when you don't need full performance. The high performance netbooks are also a fair bit cheaper than the $1500 you are willing to spend. Have a look here: http://www.jbhifionl...ry-scoop/665539 http://www.jbhifionl...ry-scoop/665540 http://www.cyberpowe...egory/notebook/ http://www.logicalbl...able-clevo.html Out of interest why buy it in Australia? Why not wait till you are in Canada and buy it there? Saves you having to transport it and it is going to be easier to sort out any problems should you have them.
  11. I found this phone http://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_u8150_ideos-3513.php in Nagoya for 5000yen but as I am visiting Tokyo from the end of this week I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of shops in Tokyo that may sell ones (hopefully with a better screen and battery). I have been to a place in Akihabara that sells cheap RAM etc so I will go there and see if they are selling phones. Any other suggestions?
  12. I have been living overseas for a few years now and have done a fair bit of train and bus travel. I have found a netbook to be much more portable and even the cheapest ones do all almost everything I want. If you really want to be able to play recent games and edit video have a look at the Alienware 11" model or other brands equivalents. A laptop is so much heavier and so much larger it is almost impossible to use in a bus whereas a netbook is just fine. Long bus trips can be extremely boring unless you have some entertainment. A 1TB 2.5" external will hold all your stuff and by the time you fill it then hopefully technology will have moved on and you can get something bigger.
  13. Checked a JDM 86 today and it looks like they have the same parcel shelf brake light.
  14. I am sure we could find a way to plumb a blow off valve into this:
  15. Thanks for all the photos and info God_speed. What is the quality of the interior like? I was in a new Prius about 2 years ago and it looked really dodgy to me. As that is coming from a VL owner/devotee that is quite a strong criticism The parcel shelf brake light might be a Toyota Australia addition, I'll have a look the next time I see a JDM one, might be a while though as they aren't too common although I did see a orange/bronze one yesterday.
  16. What a bunch of cucking funts, hopefully Consumer Affairs penalises them somehow - otherwise all I can recommend for your next interaction with the store is:
  17. True, but also keep in mind that a rich running engine will have less power and will use more fuel than if it has a correct A/F ratio.
  18. I suggest a Commodore as it sells much better than the Falcon and the Falcon may be cancelled soon which may affect parts and resale values. LPG on a new Commodore costs $2500 but you get $2000 back in a rebate so it will pay for itself in no time. "Using an 84.4-litre aircraft-grade aluminium fuel tank, the LPG Commodore Omega delivers 710km of combined city and highway driving on a single tank (11.8L/100km for Omega and Berlina – 12.3L/100km for other sedan and Sportwagon variants – 12.4L/100km for Utes). That’s more than the Toyota Aurion ATX (707km), Mazda3 (696km) and even the Ford Falcon XT (687 km). It’s also more fuel efficient than the Falcon EcoLPI. Better still, based on the average 20,000km a year cycle, the LPG Commodore costs around $1227 in fuel per year, which is very similar to the more powerful Falcon EcoLPi ($1279) but significantly cheaper than the Toyota Hybrid Camry ($1644) and Corolla ($2028)." From here http://www.caradvice.com.au/159889/holden-lpg-commodore-review/ Definitely go the big car. I used to drive 3 hours to uni first in a 90 Excel and then a 91 Commodore wagon. If anything the Commodore had better fuel economy on the highway. Both cars were petrol. The difference in comfort and cargo area is huge. Do you have a budget in mind?
  19. There are a few RB powered VLs with LPG, at least one of them was a proven 8 second car which shows what LPG is capable of. I think the best option at the moment is Liquid LPG injection for power/economy. check this thread http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showthread.php?t=140523&highlight=LPG+rb30 I dunno if that sort of thing is in your budget but certainly worth looking into.
  20. Nice idea but I prefer this option
  21. No worries, good luck with it.
