  1. Thanks djr81. The poor light advantages of a DSLR are the main reason I want one as I have missed many good photo opportunities/ended up with poor quality photos because of my current camera (especially on the streets of Tokyo at night, for example the two AE86 Initial D replicas that were parked and then driving past me on the way home last week). Nevertheless I would rather the 500 dollars spent their time amongst others of their ilk in my bank account until I buy a house/unit in Japan. Thanks again for the advice though and it will be of great help when I do finally get one. I don't think buying camera gear in Japan is cheaper than Australia let alone Hong Kong. My sister and I looked for a Sigma Macro lens (for a DSLR) for a few days in Tokyo, Yokohama and Kawasaki (this was after the consumption tax rise). She ended up buying the lens from an online store as it was cheaper and she wouldn't have the same hassles/costs if she had to make a warranty claim back in Australia. There may be cheaper shops that I don't know of in Japan but I don't think they would be much cheaper. We did find quite a price disparity with the shops we did visit, even at different shops from the same chain.
  2. Thanks Chris. Is that your blog? It is epic, some great stuff in there. The photography is fantastic, I am guessing that the shots were taken with a DSLR. I plan on getting one at some point but am trying to save money at the moment. PMed you BTW.
  3. I went to the Nissan International Gallery this week.
  4. By skin do you mean "Theme" at the very bottom left of the screen? If so then I am using "Deluxe".
  5. BBCode mode seems to work!! Thanks PranK. By the way I am using IE11.
  6. Wow looks great, seems like it has had a fair bit of money spent on it already. Good luck with the forum and the car.
  7. Welcome and good luck with the search.
  8. Hi, I can't copy and paste stuff to a new post even after changing the appropriate option and selecting "Paste" and "Paste as Plain Text". The stuff happily pastes into other programs. Thanks in advance.

    Japan Trip 2014

No probs mate. According to the website they close on Monday, Tuesday, Golden Week and the new year. My friends and I drove past it today, I didn't realise how close it is to Daikoku Futo till then. Here is the website: http://www.nismo.co.jp/shop/shop/omori/shop/index_en.html
  11. I realise the manifold is free and you just wanna get rid of it with the minimum of fuss but are you willing to post it and if so how much to NSW 2539?
  12. Welcome to the forum. I hope you find what you are looking for here.

    Japan Trip 2014

I have some photos of the Nismo factory in my photo diary. There are about 10 cars in the showroom. One wall of the showroom is glass and separates the showroom from the workshop (it's pretty huge)so you can see all the cars being worked on. I haven't been to the factory part so can't comment on that. The site itself is nearest to Namamugi station which is a local line whereas Tsurumi is a bit further but on a JR (major) line. Either way it is quite a walk from a station. There may be a bus or you can taxi but I just walked, it isn't particularly scenic but interesting if you haven't been to Japan before.
  14. I need a car space in Tokyo, can you help me with that Welcome to the forum.
  15. Thanks for replying, it is always interesting to hear actual owners first hand experience. Even more, it does make me appreciate having a 1300+kg 3.0L wagon though It sounds like you are putting a lot of thought in to it and it will be great to see some pics of it one day.
  16. Congratulations on joining the forum and getting such an awesome car, even if it has had a few problems. How do you find response of the 260RS off boost?
  17. Welcome to the forum. Great looking 32. My recommendation - get a turbo. Even a high comp, low boost set-up will put a smile on your face.
  18. Welcome! looks nice. I really like the colour. You might want to look at some aftermarket front bars as there will always be someone having a go at you for making a fake GTR if you put one of their bars on it.
  19. Welcome and thanks for your post. It was an interesting read. I can relate to the R32 GTR love affair myself and have felt that way ever since seeing them win at Bathurst. Such a great looking car in standard trim and the subtlest of mods make them look even better. Good luck with finding one you love!
  20. Post the export paper up here if you would like me to have a look at it. There are a bunch of different paths you can take when modding the RB25. The main factors affecting your choice are. What you are using the car for. What your goals are. How much you want to spend. The best thing to do is browse these forums as there is a massive amount of info on here. Personally I would be looking at a GT35R based turbo with the supporting mods for around 300RWKW while still being daily driveable and affordable. If you have a bit more cash to throw around then a Precision or similar turbo. If the sky is the limit then get an LSX engine and twin turbo it. You will want to consider running E85 if you are going to go to a bigger turbo, not because it is necessary but it does give a good increase in performance while still being kind to your engine. These might sound like overwhelming decisions to make at first but if you decide up front it means you will know where to start with your supporting mods. For example there is no point getting slightly bigger injectors if you plan on running E85 and 20psi of boost in the future.
  21. Nice! Do you know where it is from in Japan? What are your plans for it?
  22. Welcome to the forum! That is an awesome photo. Good luck with the car.
  23. Hi and welcome to the forum. Congratulations on getting a 32GTR in black... I would love one myself. I am looking forward to your pics.
  24. Welcome to the forum and thanks for introducing me to a new idea - the idea of Skyline practicality Get a wagon and profit... only kidding mate (well half kidding anyway) get what you want and people on here will do their best to help you out. Good luck!
  25. VL - best of both worlds. Nissan engine, local body Glad you are keeping an open mind about what to get. A few lessons I have learned after having owned more than 10 cars (note: this is entirely subjective): I always sell performance cars for near to what I bought them for. I always lose money on boring cars. I could often convince myself life would be in someway better if I owned only a boring car, however I always ended up wishing I had a performance car when I had a boring daily. Having a boring daily and a performance car just means finding excuses to drive the performance car every day. I haven't tried it yet but I think the ideal situation would be to have at least 2 performance cars (in my case 2 VL wagons with turbo motors in them). Having said all that, I don't really know you and you may have far more car experience than I do. Regardless,do what makes you happy.
