Yes that is exactly the way everyone interpreted DivHunters statistics, we are all headed toward that glorious day when the only difficult choice we will have to make is what colour Apple product we have to purchase. Steve Jobs will be the worlds Grand High Emperor and we can all sit around mulitgesturing our human centipads. For more information please refer to this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarcasm

Hi, Here is a link for the manual in English http://www.apexi-usa...ent/pdf6118.pdf The sheet you posted is the Setting Data for Skylines. If you cant find what you need in the above link, reply and let me know what you need done. The less you need translated and the clearer the picture you provide is (many of the characters are difficult/impossible to read - did you scan it as greyscale or mono?) the more chance you have of getting translations. To put it another way if you still need stuff translated please rescan the document so all characters are clear and circle the text, preferably in a contrasting colour, you need translated. Sorry to be an a##hole but if I was to translate that whole sheet it would take me many hours. By the way I think your file is coming up as an attachment because it is a PDF. When you scan try saving the image as a BMP for lossless quality or a JPG (JPEG) for smaller filesize. Then add that to the post and it should come up.

Hakuho? You will almost never be dissapointed. I dont mind Baruto. They aren`t Japanese though and I feel guilty about only barracking for foreigners so I will have to find someone else. I used to go for Kotomitsuki too as he came from Aichi but he was the banned for life due to possible Yakuza ties, baseball betting and what not.

It is quite possible I am the only one on this forum who cares I but will post anyway just in case. Kaio, who has many impressive Sumo records to his name, will retire from Sumo. This is sad enough news for his fans but it also means that there will be no native Japanese in the top two ranks of Sumo (Yokozuna and Ozeki). Here is his Wikipedia article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kai%C5%8D_Hiroyuki

You might want to check your facts first. The press release for the review of classification laws was issued on the 21 December 2010 which included an invitation for public comment by the Attorney-General’s Department . At around that time you could also subscribe to receive regular updates on the progress of the review. The point I was arguing is that if the government was to send an email to 1 major online/gaming site (as suggested by Cozi) then the government is seen to be showing favoritism. You suggested "email a notice out to the gaming media". Specifically who are they supposed to email? Whoever gets left out will claim it is unfair and that their product/website suffered by not having access to the same information at the same time.
-
But how do the government select which privately owned media groups to inform? The ones that aren't informed will complain they weren't informed. The mass media may hear about it and research it and find out that at some point in time a government official had shares or something in one of the companies that were informed. Then the mass media run it as an issue of corruption in the government. I could be wrong but I think that when magazines etc notify readers about government issues it is through the magazines research that the information is found. I imagine it is government policy not to directly contact individual companies but instead to use the means they have already tried in the classification review. There are many avenues available for individuals to attempt to impact political party's policy.
-
The article makes the point that the government has tried to get the involvement of gamers by various means including Facebook, Twitter and promoting related articles. If the government has to pay to advertise in mass media etc every time public submissions are sort for every bit of legislation that is under review the cost would be phenomenal. If they only advertise a small percentage of the requests for submissions I cant imagine the issue of game classifications being prioritised. Public health, education, foreign policy etc etc would be seen as requiring the funds. There has to be a point a which individuals make the effort to affect change rather than just blaming the government. In this issue, at this time, my opinion is the government has done its part in trying to get public input.
-
Doesn't matter how easy the government makes it, most of the gamers who aren't happy about it would rather whinge on a forum and have interaction from other people than make a submission which they don't see directly affecting anything. Realistically though the submission is what will be taken into consideration by the people that have the power to initiate change. The government will never make everyone happy and in this issue it seems to me like they are doing all they can to make the majority happy (if they spend a fortune on advertising the issue the majority of Australians will complain, if they called a national vote almost everyone complains). Maybe the solution is some kind of government moderated internet forum but I imagine that would be extremely difficult to sort out. That's my 2 cents anyway.

Sorry to backtrack so far into the thread (I just found it now) but I just wanted to add my 2c in regards to Tangles looking outside of Australia for treatment. I was treated in Australia for a relatively minor skin problem in Australia for 4 years with the problem getting worse and worse. I saw 3 different doctors and they kept me on basically the same medication (oral antibiotics) for all that time. I came to Japan, saw a GP and then a specialist and within a couple of months the problem became immeasurably better. She (the specialist) tried a variety of topical and oral medications until she found something that really worked. It isn't cured but the difference in symptoms is amazing. I realise that my medical problem is completely different to yours but I would definitely recommend trying overseas. It really felt like the specialists in Australia were happy for me to keep coming in every month feeling miserable that the problem was getting worse as long as I kept paying the $100+ in their fees and $100+ in meds. Compared to the Japanese specialist who made me feel like she really wanted to help and cared for my wellbeing. Add to that the fact I only have to pay the equivalent of about $5 to see a specialist in Japan and you can see why I think you should at least consider looking overseas.

[quote name=ClutchBurndout-' timestamp='1309149557' post='5884616] whats the point of a brake stopper? It is a bracket that is mounted on the strut tower with a screw that presses against the master cylinder. This stops the master cylinder from flexing the firewall under hard braking. It gives a firmer/more responsive brake pedal feel. As a point of interest VLs have pretty much the same thing fitted as standard (they have a bracket bolted from the strut tower to the master cylinder). Refer to the pic below. I miss my wagz

Here is a translation for the installation instructions numbered 1 to 5. I am not not sure what they are talking about in step one so I put a few translation options in - should be a lot easier to tell what they are when you look at the car. I take no responsibility for these translations being correct or any damage you may do blah blah blah. Hopefully another poster can confirm them too. If you need any other parts of the sheet translated let me know. 1) Disassemble the mekura/blind plugs/bolts/corks/bungs/stoppers in front of the master cylinder (there are two on the fender). 2) Slightly tighten the BCS body using the two M6x16 bolts. 3) Put the locknut in the BCS body's welded nut and slightly tighten the adjustment/modification bolt. 4) Affix the adjustment/modification bolt and the pointed end collar (shown as 先端カラー in the picture) to the brake master cylinder and then tighten the adjustment/modification bolt . 5) Properly tighten all slightly tightened bolts.

Thanks for posting, always good to see real world results like this instead of manufacturers/reviewers claims.

I live about an hour and a half southish of Tokyo (by Shinkansen) but I have been trying to follow both the Japanese and International media as well as what people in Japan including Tokyo locals have been saying. Okinawa is absolutely fine to visit and nice work on choosing to go to the aquarium. I haven't been there but it is supposed to be one of the best in the world. There are also some historic sites worth visiting there and the food can be quite nice although you might want to avoid Goya - a really bitter vegetable that they use in a lot of dishes. Taco rice is nice though. Some of the seafood dishes they have are delicious too. I have had a deep fried (Tempura) flying fish which looked like a model airplane (with head and wings still attached) when setup on the plate, at an Okinawan restaurant in Aichi. It was really delicious. Tokyo should be fine to visit now, but I would try and spend as much time further south as possible. Last week the Japanese Prime Minister announced he will eventually resign due to the nuclear power plant issues. They are still having problems with its cooling and with very high radiation levels even in the air. Recently two workers were exposed to higher than legal radiation. Tokyo shouldn't be affected unless they have another meltdown which is possible due to the ongoing cooling problems - but it is highly unlikely. Although the Tokyo council says the tap water is fine to drink many locals are buying bottled water so you might want to consider doing that too. Power might be a problem in Tokyo, especially in September - they are already hitting 70 -80% (check http://jp.msn.com/ its in the top left corner) and it will get worse as we get further into summer with restrictions on public buildings use of aircon amongst other things depending on the situation at the time. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I dunno about the closed captions. Besides I really want to read them before watching the shows rather than at the same time. Thanks for the offer of English scripts but I really want Japanese ones so I can check vocab etc. Also thanks for the reply, most appreciated.
-
Although my Japanese conversation and reading are getting better (I think/hope) I find understanding Japanese TV difficult. Therefore I want to try and get some subtitles/scripts and read them before watching the shows. I have searched on the net but cant find any in Japanese for Japanese shows. I am assuming anime would be the easiest but cant find anything. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Should be pretty straightforward. Install Ubuntu to memory stick from here http://www.ubuntu.co...ubuntu/download Turn computer on. If computer crashes within the timeframe and using the websites/programs he was normally expecting problems then its probably hardware, if not then its probably Windows.
-
If you suspect hardware but arent sure and want to troubleshoot first of all maybe try a linux distro. Get one that runs from a memory stick so you dont have to touch your current Windows install. That will help tell if its hardware or Windows that is stuffed.
-
If you need any help with the Japanese or stuff over here let me know. If you dont want to stick Win 7 on as others have suggested due to money reasons you could stick WinXP on for free as per this . Could be a more stable option than Vista anyway. As you have already payed for the licence for Vista and just want to reinstall an older Windows OS I wouldnt consider there to be a moral obligation to pay for it. I am sure others will disagree but yeah do what you feel is right.

xALMON is right 点検 is read as tenken and means inspection; check. But it doesnt say EVERY 5000km. So it could possibly be a one off check after 5000km, but "every" is probably assumed as they often are on those types of instructions on cars.

Mark and Terry did you find anything out about the investment stuff. No rush, just in case you forgot about it. Thanks!

I absolutely recommend a netbook. I havent been using much else for the past 2 years and although they cant do everything a desktop can they arent far from it. I have Battlefield Vietnam and Couterstrike Source (framerate is terrible on CS though) running on my Emachines and I am still only using 1GB RAM (2GB is the max you can run though). If you like the idea of a tablet look at the EEEPC T101MT which is a netbook but has the folding/swivel touchscreen which will give the feel of a pad but running windows and having a keyboard - they might cost more than you want to spend though ($600 new on Ebay - a lot cheaper than the Dell Latitude XT which is about $1000). The T101MTs have a 2.5" HDD too which , as you can imagine, makes upgrading to a 640GB (1TB drives are thicker and may or may not fit) easy. As SATA drives develope you have that option for upgrading too. I was really lucky and got my first netbook (ASUS EEPC 701SD) for $200 from Harvey Norman on sale and my Emachines (has a 2.5" drive) from another big chain store (cant remember which) also for $200. I think it might be hard to find that sort of bargain again but with the Australian dollar being so strong you might get lucky. Netbooks dont have optical drives but you can get an external USB one or just use another computer to make ISOs of what you want. Have a look at http://forum.eeeuser.com/ as they have a lot of mods for EEEs, for example installing the USB dongle for mobile internet, that mad082 suggested, inside the case of netbooks, adding USB ports etc etc.
